-Our Intro Song "Feel the Love" From Alex's band
open.spotify.com/album/4Dao8y... - Фільми й анімація
First off, I agree with everyone suggesting "Stranglehold" . It's a gem!!!
**Edit: but A&A has done this song...so
"great white buffalo"...it is!!
OR "Wango Tango"
Cat Scratch: ...in rock terms, this is a quickie. It rocks you, makes you laugh, has sexual energy, and it's a pop rock radio teaser.
They did like 3 years ago
@@alrivers2297 TY
Must do Stranglehold love.
"Great White Buffallo" off Double Live Gonzo. For me best track of his period.
Stranglehold is 🔥🔥🔥🔥!! Love WDSP and Wango Tango !!
Ted was always subtle with his lyrics. Next subtle Ted song....Wang Dang Sweet Poontang
🤣
How about, " My Love is Like a Tire Iron"?
LMAO!
SUBTLE 💯
Wang dang sweet poontang isn’t very subtle in my estimation but maybe that’s a joke? 😂
The cat scratch fever he’s talking about comes from a different kind of cat. 😂
I literally had no idea
I have been laughing at all the cat scratch comments .......... Ted was talking about a completely different ahem , cat !
Next ..... Stranglehold !
@@michaelligue3842 Funny thing is A&A got the joke.
Yes it does. I am so irritated that so many are so ignorant.
LOL
STD..lol..
I was around in the 70s, Sex, Love Rock-N-Roll
And VD..
✌️♥️🤘
I saw Ted as a teen and learned 3 things. A guy can rock in a loincloth, what a contact buzz is and the value of getting directly in FRONT of the girl that keeps flashing the band.
Wisdom for the ages.
As good as the songs were....they are nothing compared with LIVE performances. Ted was/is a live performer!! A TRUE 70's staple!
"is" is a stretch
@@codygoodman8794 No it is not
Especially, believe it or not, Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes live album. From the 60s, but no hippy dippy psychedelia. Unbelievable screaming rock, for any era
So cute that the boys initially thought Ted was singing about felines.
yet they start dogging on Ted as being lame or something.
@@sodone4078 I guess people just had to have been there in 77-78 when Ted was at his prime to fully appreciate how he left a trail of satisfied kitties through the U.S. while on tour lol
@@sodone4078
Not actually dogging, just lightly teasing on the arrangement of the song being a little heavily geared towards radio play in a way that doesn’t make it feel as raw/real as the lyrics or concept might require to really hit hard, long story short where was a nasty solo we knows he’s capable 🥵
@@razor3683 sounds like you know from experience. You must be one of those kitties. Meow.
@@andyandalex This is probably his most radio friendly song, which might have soemthing to do with it.
Saw him live in 1979 and he was a maniac on stage. Leapt off the top of his Marshall stack during a solo and didn’t miss a note.
I saw him the same year at the Capitol Centre in Landover, MD. I remember him wearing a loincloth and jumping off the Marshall stack too. It was so much fun!
@@chrishildebrand1836 I was there! Thought I recognized you. Always a great show. Though, I will say, I may have had my memory fogged a bit for certain reasons.
@@mcoke61 Was that at CalJam? I was there, too! But my fave act there was Heart. Ted had some high energy, though, with all of that leaping around, great act!
Lol ! No doubt ! I am no longer a huge fan but in 1979 I saw him live.
Absolutely Amazing entertainment ! The loin cloth has never graced a more insanely ass kicking king of the jungle.
I was a big fan of the Motor City Madman in my teen years, especially live. My favorite albums were "Double Live Gonzo" and "Intensities in Ten Cities" I also saw him in concert 4 or 5 times and was always a great time. Check out "The Great White Buffalo" live.
I know for sure you're hearing impaired now, I saw him once and my ears rang for a week.
@@rollotomassi6232 LOL...That's the truth!
Exactly I say "Great White Buffallo" off Double Live Gonzo. Every reactor does Stranglehold. enough already
Just read all the comments so far and was amazed that no one suggested the Amboy Dukes' 'Journey to the Center of the Mind' from 1968, one of the greatest one hit wonders ever. Please play it. I think you'll love it or at least find it very interesting.
great guitar solo!
Yeah, really unique tone on Ted's axe. Real mind meld on that one
Yes, that’s a great song with a nice psychedelic sound. Little Miss Dangerous from the 80’s is a surprise, too.
Thanks for mentioning this...never heard of this group before. Meh...an okay song...
I have , it's one of the greatest songs of the 60's. I appreciate it even more now that I know more about guitar
Taught myself this iconic lick on my violin when I was in sixth grade-complete with finger-slide, bow-screech at the end. Played it over and over. Tortured the crap outta my parents for making me take freakin’ violin! 🔥🤙
Nugent guitar on a violin? LOL Superb! You need to post that.
Andy was trying to keep it clean and Alex just kicked the door down! haha!!! loved it!
And Alex was right on the money! Can't wait till they do a deep dive into Uncle Ted's political choices.
Never much for Nugent but if you want the song that delivers the raunch AND the breakdown, you need "Free For All".
Agree Free For All is a must listen.
Or maybe some Dog Eat Dog!!
His first solo album titled "Ted Nugent" is his best with songs like "Stranglehold", "Snakeskin Cowboy", "Queen of the Forest", "Hey Baby", "Hey Baby", "Stormtroopin'".
Hey Baby. what a bluesy banger.
Stranglehold
Just spin the first Ted solo album - problem solved! Queen of the Forest should be illegal...
AGREE Wholeheartedly.
To me Ted/the bands best album.
Saw Ted at the Philadelphia Spectrum in around 1977. From what I can remember: There was a barricade about 8 feet from the front of the stage. The floor of the concert was open without seats. The barricade was trampled down and the fans were smashed against the stage, monitors within reach. The security guards were trying, to no avail, to get everyone to move back to put the barricade back up. This went on for what seemed like an hour. Finally, with the full house lights still on, Ted emerged from backstage, giant Gibson hollow body strapped on. He cranks out an A chord at ear bleeding volume, sustains it with some feedback and screeches it out. He walks to the front of the stage, houselights still on, and says to he security guards, "Nobody's gonna move back!!!" Then he turns to the audience, and says to the fans in the front, "We're gonna play but if any of you do ANYTHING to fuck up my music, I'm gonna beat the shit out of you." Thunderous applause ensued, after all, it was Philly. The lights went down and Ted opened the show, probably with "Wang Dang Sweet Poon Tang." Something like that.
That sounds exactly like Uncle Ted.
Saw Ted in 1977 too. Ted came on local radio in the afternoon of the show and said he was gonna play do loud that the roof of the State Fair Coliseum was gonna collapse. All the stare officials were there to monitor the decibel levels. They threatened to stop the show. Ofcourse we were waiting for the roof to come down.
Great story!!
I was there too!! Loved that concert!!
Scorpions opened for them and def Leppard. I saw him at the Spectrum 4 times
"Stranglehold" is a must, you guys will love it!!! 😃
They did Stranglehold already.
Yeah they already reviewed Stranglehold.
They did Stranglehold
I say "Great White Buffallo" off Double Live Gonzo. BTW every reactor does Stranglehold. enough already
My sister just had "cat scratch fever." She tried to give an old, sick cat a bath. (Yes, she did.) Their claws aren't clean. Scratched two fingers, she got blood poisoning, and had to have surgery on fingers on both hands to clean out infection. Be careful out there!
yep, same here...3 days in Hospital from cat bite. hand swoll up big time
My sister's cat bit me a couple of years ago. My hand (thumb area) turned red and swelled up the next day. I went to urgent care and they gave me antibiotics and a tetanus vaccine. They emphasized that it's important to take care of cat bites ASAP because people can die from them.
It's not the cat bites/scratches itself. Unless of course they have rabies.
It's from a staff infection called 'Cellulitis' that people get when the skin gets broken, and it's not cleaned with peroxide right after. A person can get this any time the skin is broken, not just from cat scratches.
If the cellulitis which turns the skin red, almost purpleish in color, and is hard & painful; isn't taken care of properly with antibiotics, it can get worse. I know someone who got the same thing from working on something, and broke his skin open in the process...
It's because cats bury their pee and poop, first digging a hole for it and then covering it up. Whether it's indoors in a litter box or outside in the dirt or sand, their claws will pick up bacteria or other microbes.
go read the lyrics.
Women and girls are coming after him.
He had to go to the Doctor to get a cure.
Cats are also known as the "p" slang word.
It's VD. 🤣🤣🤣
No one ever believes this, but I once caught cat scratch fever. It's a bacteria that's found only in kittens' claws. This kitten jumped on my back, cute as could be, and he got some scratches in. A few days later ... yep.
I believe you!
I believe you, had it twice. Once from playing with a stay cat and the other was a tick bite. Yes, ticks and fleas carry it too.
@@wickedmirage Didn't know about those! If I see a tick, I instantly think Lyme, never anything else!
@@wickedmirage I had a scratch on my upper back, the infection etc went away. But there was always a tiny, very itchy scab at that exact spot for the next two years.
@@loosilu Here's a scary fact for you. Ticks have been found to carry upwards of 30 different virus, bacteria and fungi in them at one time. That is why you have to be careful when removing them.
Oh, f*ckin snap! I love it. You pegged Ted Nugent without even knowing it...😂😂😂
Ted Nugent was THE MAN when I was in high school. Every keg party I went to had Uncle Ted blaring from the speakers.
As some of you know, Ted is an avid outdoorsman. Back in the 80s when he was still living in Michigan, he attended an annual dinner for a local Michigan bow hunters club. He sang "Fred Bear", just him and a guitar in a rather subdued mode as he was sitting on a chair at the front of the banquet hall. When he finished there was a smattering of polite applause. You see, this crowd of about 50 were mostly older men who probably had no idea of his life as a rock star!
It was before my time but my understanding is, when Ted Nugent was popular people thought his was legitimately crazy due to his insane live shows. That album cover likely contributed, too.
They didn’t call him “the motor city madman” for nothing…..
The Madman from Motor City!
Saw him leaping from his amp stack in nothing but a loin cloth in '79. So, yes, we did...
Probably more due to his claims that he soiled himself at the draft office to get rated 4F. He now denies that he did that, but either way...
Oh he is still insane saw Ted in concert this past August, he's still got it.
Absolutely the loudest concert ever. No doubt the people by the stage are deaf today.
What??🤘🔥
Yes lost the hearing in his left ear and ended up switching from 85 watt fender twin reverb amps to 120 watt peavey's.
I lost 30% of my hearing at a Damn Yankees concert, and that was after he'd chilled a bit. Lol
I saw him in 1978 and it took 3 days for my hearing to return to normal. I thought I had a permanent hearing loss over those days, as it was as if I had my fingers in my ears the whole time. Scary!
rod saw him same year in hs was first concert ever attended probably did damage our hearing all can recall we were on floor of bball arena but luckily werent up front was even louder than aerosmith same venue looking back
Raunchy loud barroom rock'n'roll was definitely Ted's "calling".
Nugent was putting out records and touring as a teenager with The Amboy Dukes years before Joe Walsh even formed James Gang. Same influences, but if one sounds like the other it's Joe sounding a little like Ted, whom he no doubt saw and heard while living in Cleveland.
That's why next should be
" The Great White Buffalo"
preferably off Double Live Gonzo.
This - so much this!! Thank you for saying it.
"Journey to the Center of the Mind"
Joe Walsh and Ted Nugent sound nothing alike. Both guitarists started playing guitar at young ages by the mid fifties and both of their first successful bands got their official start around '67, so whereas there may be a mutual appreciation between the two of them, they both had their own playing styles before either would've heard of the other.
Well .. Walsh was a vastly superior guitarist and songwriter though. Nugent at best churned out vanilla rock with fairly sophomoric lyrics.
StrangleHold must be your next listening from The Motor City MadMan.
Good song. You're not looking for Jim Croce thought provoking lyrics or strings when you put Ted on. Just a head banger. Terminus Eldorado is my favorite of his.
Terminus Eldorado? What an odd choice. That song sounds like Alice Cooper material, not that Alice doesn't have some nice songs too. You have to be old, or you wouldn't even know that song. Just out of curiosity, Robert, how old are you?
Great White Buffalo was always my favorite song from Ted, from his Double Live Gonzo album
Finally! Thank you!
Yes I say "Great White Buffallo" off Double Live Gonzo. Every reactor does Stranglehold. enough already!
Back in the 70s there were no holds barred regarding vulgarity. The music of today, I don't know enough about.
Also "Hey Baby" is a gem that no one talks about! Give it a listen if you would.
One of the greatest riffs ever...
Uncle Ted is a different cat. In your face rock and roll, if you like it awesome, if not, oh well. That said, Double Live Gonzo is a great album. And your next song should be Stranglehold.
Rocked our asses off in concert 1978 and 25 years later. Just as smokin' hot plus Ted shooting flaming arrows during the intro of his encore. Fantastic!
yep
This was his big commercial followup. But he had some tremendous earlier bangers all from the Stranglehold album. I would go to "Hey Baby" next.
That's because Derrexk St Holmes had more of a presence. By Cat h Scratch Fever Ted's inflated Ego took over and he made sure the hit had him on lead vocals.
Hello A&A family! Have a fantastic week! 😺❤🖤
I used to like this guy back in the day.
No band can bring back the feeling of being 12 years old like Uncle Ted can. For years he would play Toledo between the week of Christmas and New Year's Eve to warm up for his big Detroit NYE show. I went to at least a dozen of those shows and yes, they were crazy. But you nailed it with the David Lee Roth comparison. Try his Double Live Gonzo Album to capture the feeling AND to see how he does when he isn't worried about the FCC. Songs? Stranglehold, Great White Buffalo, Fred Bear, Wang Dang Sweet Poontang, Wango Tango, Moter City Madhouse. He also does 2 classic Beatles covers with I Want to Tell You and Taxman. My personal favs? 1. Paralyzed 2. Free for All 3. Motor City Madhouse. Also, check him out with The Amboy Dukes and Journey to the Center of Your Mind for a psychedelic trip. Remember, Detroit in the late 60s had all kinds of great stuff going on-Segar, MC5, Alice Cooper, Iggy and the Stooges, Grand Funk Railroad, Glenn Frey of the Eagles, Mitch Ryder, ? and the Mysterians. And that's without mentioning all the great Motown coming out of the scene!!
I will take Alice Cooper over Nugent any day for bringing back the fun of the 70’s concerts
That was a great area to live in the late 60s, early 70s. My tastes are wide and varied because of it.
I remember when the Cars opened for him in Pontiac and the guys down front spun a portajohn against the wall, trapping a dude in there for the concert
@@thorstambaugh1520 When you mentioned The Cars it brought back memories of driving to Philly for Live Aid in 85 We wanted to see Zeppelin again, but I thought The Cars put on a great show
The Detroit music scene in the late 50s to late 60s was monstrous. Bill Haley and Del Shannon leading to Mitch Ryder leading to Suzi Quatro, Nugent, Bob Seger, MC5, Iggy Pop, Marshall Crenshaw....so much talent.
You two are PRICELESS! That's all I've got to say.
lol yup
Still laughing here...
Same 😂😂😂
Saw Ted Nugent in concert at the Allentown Fair in 1978. Cheap Trick opened for him. Great concert by both artists!
I saw that tour in Vancouver, my introduction to Cheap trick. Great show by both, Teddy was always a great concert!
Love Uncle Ted saw him in concert twice opened for KISS and headlined with Bad Company.
I saw Ted with Black Oak Arkansas in the 70’s in Pittsburgh. Wildest show I have ever seen on and off the stage.
Ted (with the Amboy Dukes) was my first concert in 1971, in St Louis, with Canned Heat. I remember him jumping off his amp wearing only a fur lion cloth
For this kind of unabashedly straight ahead rock, ZZ Top is always my go-to. They can get a damn gnarly sound Goin’.
Out of Control and Wang Dang Sweet Poontang are even more high energy off this album!
The best Ted quote I ever heard was on his VH1 "Behind The Music". He said everybody he knew got into rock & roll for the girls..."I got into it for the music...but i adapted"
Great to catch him live
I wasn't a fan back then, even less of a fan now. You are right - not a song to consciously put on but if it popped up right time/right place it's a fun tune.
Yeh Nugent sucks pretty hard but is fun
I used to be a fan (not a die hard one, but I remember the damned yankee days but, like I said in my comment, I refuse to hang with his politics).
@@connieb4372 I saw him in person, and he's just like what you see on the news... a vile POS. just sayin.
Yes, you have to do "Stranglehold". Has a similar vibe to Robin Trower's "Bridge of Sighs", which you should also do.
They called him the “Motor City Madman” for good reason. Always raw in presentation and basic in meaning - definitely had a lot of appeal to a teenager growing up in the late 70’s! He was such a sight to behold in concert - shirtless with a raccoon tail hanging from the back of his pants, and ripping g off wailing leads on his hollow bodied Gibson Birdland guitar!
STRANGLEHOLD. Ted is a excellent guitarist. Ted is Awesome.
Ted's song "Living in the Woods" from the Tooth, Fang, & Claw album is my all time favorite. It helped to get me through 3 1/2 years in the Army when I could barely wait to be discharged and go and "live in the woods"! 🐻
No Holds Barred is another great song by the Nuge! Call of the Wild album is another 🔥
The Double Live Gonzo is just one of the best live albums ever. The B-side to this is the much raunchier Wang Dang Sweet Poontang. Fucking hysterical.
The Great Whire Buffalo off DLGonzo!!
I'm telling you guys, you need to hear TED NUGENT when he was about 18 and with the AMBOY DUKES, the guitar is unreal, you will love it, thanks guys for all the fun. JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE MIND.
Produced by the legendary Tom Werman, who also produced records for Motley Crue, Cheap Trick, Twisted Sister, Molly Hatchet and many others.
Don’t care for Ted Nugent’s politics, but I am so old I saw him with the Amboy Dukes in Atlanta and he was incredible. Journey to the Center of your Mind, their biggest single, was very heavy psychedelic for its time.
I saw Ted in 77-78? It was the loudest show I have ever seen. The only artists I’ve seen that equaled him in decibels was Neil Young with Stone Temple Pilots and Neil Young with Crazy Horse!!!👌😁✌️😁
I may not agree with Ted's politics but everyone loved this song back in my day. Turn up the radio and tear off the knob every time we heard it.
Best follow up? "The Great White Buffalo" off " Double Live Gonzo" (far better live). Nugent was best with original band including Derrick St Holmes. Though reunited with St Holmes shout a decade ago.!
GOOOOOOOD MORNING A&A FAMILY!!!!
☮️💟♾️
Hey @John H!!! ☺️
You GOTTA listen to some Damn Yankees. Tommy Shaw (Styx), Jack Blades (Night Ranger), & Ted Nugent in one band. High Enough, Come Again, Where You Goin' Now, Silence Is Broken, 15 Minutes Of Fame, Coming Of Age, Damn Yankees (the song), Don't Tread On Me, etc.
He came to the Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento in the late 70’s and played so loud that he cracked the walls.
He was told to never come back.
Awesome.
I never liked this song. Now I remember why
I saw Terrible Ted when I was 11 years old. Free For All was my favorite album at that time. Single LP in a double LP cover. Cool inside pics of him jumping. Check it out. Thanks Fellas. Cheers!
Plus it's got the great Meatloaf singing on a few of the songs...RIP Meatloaf!
I’m ☠️…😂😂😂😂. This reaction was perfect for Ted.
Damn, I remember being in Jr. high when this came out in 77’. This guy put on an amazing concert.
Take a basic honky tonk blues riff and Nugentize it and bam Cat Scratch. Yes it’s a thang, the fever is.
Best. Nugent. Putdowns. Ever.
Stranglehold... classic rock. Our troops ride into war with this one blasting
I saw Uncle Ted at the 1978 Texxas Jam. It was 120Degrees on the floor. He played at the hottest part of the day in nothing but a loin cloth. It was Van Halen’s first tour as well.
Stranglehold is only song by him, I ever liked! ENJOY EVERYONE!
Hey, you guys should hit some more Peter Frampton from his amazing Frampton Comes Alive album. One of the best bangers, with some very tasty guitar playing, is Do You Feel Like We Do.
I think they did that one.
Saw the Cat Scratch Fever Tour in Nov '77 Joe Freeman Colosseum, San Antonio. They recorded one song from there and put it on the Double Live Gonzo. Couldn't hear for 3 days.
Hey guys I'm a little late to the party, but if you want to check out something a little more obscure from Mr. Nugent, check out Journey to the Center of the Mind by the Amboy Dukes. Ted was the guitarist, and you can hear the beginnings of his riff power.
STRANGLEHOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stranglehold, studio version, is a must hear song.
They already did it 3 yrs ago
I say "Great White Buffallo" off Double Live Gonzo.
The Motor City Madman! Impaired a lot of people's hearing back in the day. Played loud!
"FREE FOR ALL" is a Must!🦌😎💯🔥
Cat Scratch Fever = V.D. You should hear the live version. Ted’s music is basically about screaming guitars and having a good time. He doesn’t get deep, or esoteric, or wax philosophic about the mysteries of the universe. He’s basically wang dang sweet poontang.
This entire album is 🔥🔥🔥 Check out Working Hard Playing Hard, Death by Misadventure and Live it Up from it.
Nugent always made me laugh with his Wild persona and he made no apologies and took no prisoners! He would swing off the High Rafters like Tarzan with a Rope and start playing! He also used to jump off his Marshall Stacks! He was great Live!
I saw him in concert in West Palm Beach with Aerosmith in 1984….he swung across the stage on a rope like Tarzan, LOL!!! Check out “Stranglehold “ next!
I saw him live in 1977. Trust me…. He was plenty raunchy….
Check out 'Stranglehold', much better!
My next door neighbours in university used to use the walls of my dorm room as a woofer for this song. I got pretty tired of it, but now it kind of makes me smile. Kind of fun to hear it again. Too long of an outro... then the review was TMI.
Great White Buffalo live version is a must
I give this song a C-
Suprised and pleased, though honestly I like his debut album and stuff with the Amboy Dukes better! Please consider his self=titled debut for Patreon soon!
I agree - his debut was great - just didn't care for him after that
Journey to the center of your mind by Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes.....crazy guitar riffs
Journey to the Center of Your Mind.
Just What The Doctor Ordered should be the next Nugent song. I saw Ted on the Free For All tour and he was great. From where I was sitting in Cobo Hall he looked about an inch and a half tall. Great sound though.
Agreed, but prefereably the Double Live Gonzo version.
Ted copied from everyone, never was original.
I've seen Ted live at least once a decade since the 1970s and he has been great over the decades. I saw him a few months ago and he is still kicking ass.
Can probably throw KISS in with the Walsh/Cooper continuum Ted is on.
Turd Nugget
You should listen to his hits "I Shit My Pants to Dodge the Draft," and "Yes, The Pedophilia Accusations Are True."
🎉❤
This was literally the first album I ever bought...I was about 8 years old, and my mom told me if i saved up my allowance money, shoe would take me to the record store....the look on her face when i pulled this album was priceless!
You should try Stanglehold
You guys have to watch the live version of Cat Scratch Fever on UA-cam from the 1978 concert California Jam 2, Uncle Ted at his best!!!
Would love to see you guys invite Ted onto the show. Or for you to go visit him on the ranch.
He was known as the wild man. An avid Hunter and activist for gun rights. I'm suggesting Stranglehold from 1975 and Wango Tango from 1980. And Great White Buffalo 1978. You may have heard played that one though I'm not sure. Crazy wild guitar from this guy and some loud lyrics at times.
When it comes to Nugent, Zappa's phrase is appropriate... "Shut up and play your guitar."
Next do Great White Buffalo.
Uncle Ted, The Motor City Madman claims he's never drunk alcohol or done any drugs.
Ted's biggest mistake was the rift between he and Derek St.Holmes on the Free For All album. He brought in Meatloaf to finish it off. As a result, the vocals on Cat Scratch Fever and subsequent albums suffered. Ted's ego, I think, got in the way of bringing in a vocalist to front the band. In recent years he and St.Holmes reunited and I'm sure that helped alot with the live show in particular. His best material, in my opinion, is in the St.Holmes/Meatloaf era. Because, bottom line, Uncle Ted can't sing!
The Whitford/St. Holmes Band
sounded more like Ted than Ted!🤣
Truth
The Meatloaf tracks sucked. St Holmes is great but saying Nugent can’t sing is wrong. Was he better with St Holmes hell yea
