Thank you for the update. I have harvested 40+ whitetail over the years and that sure looks like the winter coat of one of our boreal white tail deer . 🦌 In northern Maine they have thick coarse hair cause it’s really cold. Great fly works really well. Tight Threads

G’morning Davey. I’ve be😊watching but also going fishing and rebuilding my deck. I’ll be putting a few of these in the box for this season. Great and effective looking caddis that’ll trick lotsa trout. Thanks for bringing to us.

The dynamite Harry pattern has been good to me so far this season. Will be tying this one up next. Thanks for sharing!

I so enjoy your videos. Would love to spend time on trout water with you. Never to old to pick up new tricks.

You make this look easy. My old fingers don’t work this well.
    Thanks. Well done.

I applaud your high-tech fly box. I often use a small tin Fisherman's Friend mint box. What is simple and inexpensive, if often a better substitute for what is complex and expensive. It's not perfect, but it's good enough for who its for!

Hello Davie, can you do a video on materials that are all natural for flytying. Without synthetics. but which one's to use to mimic this visual aspect.

I’m giving the tying a go finally after roughly 15 years of fly fishing. I have tied spiders and nymphs for myself in the past but stayed away from dry flies and flies with palmers and wings but I’m giving it a go. Your videos are class and I’ve always watched your latest videos even when I wasn’t tying. I have just one question! What is that soft wax you use that is soft and stays on your finger like that? I really need this lol I have no wax at all and I think if I had it would reduce the turns of thread when tying in hackles and ribs etc. thanks for all your content! And lastly tight lines

      Hi Clive,
It's great that I've encourage you to have a go at the dries which I am sure you'll enjoy tying and fishing and thank you for the kind words..The wax I use is Veniards Prepared Fly Tyers Wax so I have attached a link to a video I made on it and how I make the small button of wax which I stick to the side of my finger ready for using..

      Hi @otts69,
I'm sure I could tye it down to a size 18 ok though with a nice fine hair like coastal deer I could tye it a little smaller..

Not sure if I have the patience or the dexterity to manage the ball of elk hair, but for those who can, how much for a dozen? 😁

Hi Davie 1st of all I love watching your videos I just zone out as I watch you create some beautiful flies I was hoping to get a bit of advice I only got into fly fishing last year & although I’ve tried it over the years I’ve yet to catch anything in the handful of times I’ve been out it’s not lack of browns as I’ve been catching them for years using other methods but now I’ve got all the proper accessories ie new chest waders new boots fly vest net the only thing I’m severely lacking is flies I have 8/10 mixed but dries & nymphs they are so expensive as there’s only one fishing store in Edinburgh now 🤷🏼‍♂️ all the smaller independent shops have closed I’ve bought a couple but the rest were scrounged off my Wee Brother but he knows as little about flies as I do I was hoping you could advise me or recommend what flies to use as the season goes on I know for sure I have 2 of these flies maybe recommend even a few patterns to use throughout the season & do you know of any online sites that I can buy flies in bulk rather than buy 1/2 at a time thanks Davie keep them coming pal Tight lines

      Hi Harry,
I keep all my patches of elk in the same large zip bag so I hope I don't mix them up with the other types I have.. I throw the original packets away so I can't check back so it could easily be anther type of deer hair though it does feel very like elk..I did look through my other zip bags of deer hair and there's nothing else to compare it to so I couldn't tell you what it is..
      All the very best Davie
