Thank you Fatherfish. I live in Bangalore, Yesterday morning i noticed white spots on all of my 8 gold fishes. I was about to rush to a store to get the medicines. But thought of browing youtube first and found this video. I followed all your instructions to the dot. Its been 24 hours and 90% of the white spots are already gone. I have kept temperature at 30 degree C. Yesterday morning, I had kept crushed garlic clove in a cup of hot water, today morning added that tea along with its food in the tank. I am very happy and relaxed to see my goodies are much better and comfortable now. Thank you again for this video.
I had heard of turning the heat up, and adding salt. I have never heard of the garlic clove before. Your videos are very interesting and informative. 👍💕👍
ty Many of the suggestions I offer were developed many, many years ago. Some are from my grandmother in the 1940's and 1950's. Much of this has been lost to a merchantile approach to keeping fish. I am trying to keep the old ways alive here at Father Fish.
@@FatherFishThx for that informative info ! I have a 35 gallon , 20 gallon and a new 10 gallon . All are heavily planted. I just got my first outbreak of ick in my 20 gallon. I knew upping the temp would kill them , however as you said , I was worried about my plants and YoYo's. You rock !
Added a group of rummy nose tetras to my community tank and they ended up bringing in ick. Upped the temp to 87 and all fish are doing great after 6 days with no more white spots. The ick does get worse before it gets better I found. Will keep temps up for another week to make sure it is all gone and not coming back. Thanks for the tips!
Tried your garlic mix with their food & my fish loved it. Put the temp up watched my tank ich has gone. Made garlic tea & will use this as every so often as a tonic. Luther my Betta is hanging in there , no deaths so far. Thankyou Father Fish. So thankful I came across you & many thanks for answering my question so quickly. Namaste 🙏
Learn something new everyday. I have been keeping fish since I have been 15. I am now 60. Last week was the first time ever getting ick. The garlic works. Amazing
Wow.. I have never heard ich explained any better then you have here. I've always known other ways to cure it. But knowing exactly how it works on the fish and in the environment really puts it into perspective. Thank you as always Father Fish for sharing your knowledge. Much love from my family to yours!🐟🌿🌱♥️🙏
I’m here because I lost 5 fish in two days from ich. It’s heartbreaking because I did everything, got desperate and bought 5 different types of “parasite/fungal cures”. I honestly feel like it did them more harm than good. As you mentioned, I’m even afraid to turn the temperature up passed 80 degrees thinking I’ll roast my fish…but will definitely give it a try. The ones severely infected died but there are stil some with minor spots.
I personally want to thank you so much! i stumbled across this video a few days ago in a panic. My daughter's state fair Prize wasnt doing so well and laying in the bottom. i stuck him in a tea pitcher with garlic inside his tank for the day/night .I released him out the tea pitcher yesterday and today hes back to his normal self. So thank you for helping me save him!
@@jessicadavey893 i didnt use tea water. i used the tea pitcher as goldfish hospital to keep him from floating around the bottom of tank & getting stuck on the filter. I put garlic and his tank water in it. He is still alive!!
Thank you so much for the natural cure!! All those fish breeders want to give you a quick cure that isn't necessary and could be bad in the big picture. I am so happy to find out that I can help my fish with something that isn't going to harm the tank later. Awesome! I'm a subscriber now!
Really glad I came across you and your videos. About a month ago, I bought a pretty big nice clown loach. Within the first two days in the tank, He was flashing and had a few white spots. By the the third day his body was covered in white spots. I raised the temperature to 86 and did a little garlic mashing. The clown loach survived and is still doing fine. However , I did keep the tank temperature at 86. No ill effects to any of the other fish or plants. ( this tank is a dirted deep substrate tank) I do add a couple drops of garlic extract every other week also. I tried feeding the fish mashed garlic, they don't seem to like it. They grab it and spit it out. Thanks for your videos.👍
Increasing the temperature 32C works and does not harm your fish, even my guppy fry didnt mind the increase in temperature. I wish I wasn't so hesitant at putting the temperature up and would have put the temperature up the second I saw my fish flashing.
It's been nearly a year since I saw this video. I checked it out when my little salvini was dying from the wretched ich. Today, thanks to the excellent advice provided here, she's flourishing and is my favourite fish I've got.
This is amazing! Thank you so much! I’ve recently got three clown loaches who came with Ich. I’ve warmed the tank and am going to try the garlic tincture. I tried before and had malachite green and everyone died any way. We felt the chemicals likely caused a greater harm reaction than benefit. Thank you for this! Very excited to try a natural way!
I'm new here...1st time watcher... INSTANT SUBSCRIBER!!! I've never EVER heard of controlling ick with crushed garlic cloves...but by God!! I'm doing it now...I lost 7 tropicals plus my community beta in less than 6 days in moving to my new house. I had no idea about stress and being born with ick...and stress makes it come out and being comfortable in lower temperatures makes it thrive....until now! I am doing my 4th water change now...but will wait until 2 days as recommended to do the garlic cloves. Then see how my fish are doing. Right Now. 9 days later using chemicals...no ick on the fish. But I'm also cleaning the gravel and making sure the tank is clean from the glass to the gravel. Thank you for this very interesting and informative video. Please take care and have a fantastic day and week😊😊😊
By tea do you mean the garlic infused water only or dump water with garlic in it ? I’ve watched this many times. Thank so much. It was hard to raise that temp but of all tubers out there I trust you the most. I’m 71 disabled and live alone now and still learning, but I love my fish so it’s sad when they die.
I love that you go for the natural way. I hate using all those crappy products they try to push on you at the stores. Most of them dont even work properly.
Wow.! Now read this!. Everything this man just said makes so much sense now. I have been keeping fish for only 2 months now and note, I live in Phoenix Arizona. I have a 75 gallon tank inside my house and a 20 gallon tank outside on my patio. Today I noticed it on one of my African cichlids on my tank inside my house two white spots on the back fin to be exact. And this happened after I introduced new fish to the tank and I turn my temperature down to 77° now my tank outside that tank has been steady between 82 and 88 degrees because it is so hot outside during our summers. And I have been using the same equipment and tools on both tanks but the tank outside has zero signs of any infection every fish and snail is perfectly healthy and thriving and eating versus the tank inside that is much cooler and showing signs of infection. After seeing this video it makes sense and I don't feel the need to rush to the store to get medicine I believe the high temperature method should work. I will update in a couple weeks
@@FatherFish update, it is now day 3 of using only high temperature treatment. Well, it didn't get worse that's the good news I still see flashing but it is not escalating I would say it is rather stay the same or has slightly improved. But all in all I think I'm heading in the right direction.
After garlic remedy....and water change all my fishes are very active...and hungry...their colours are so vibrant after day or two...I have cardinals, pand cory and guppiess.....and ich jus vanished...thank you old man..
I stumble on your video desperately looking for advice or solution with the Ich. Totally a beginner & no idea or confident of what I'm doing..but after watching on couples of your video, I gain so much knowledge & understanding. Your advice are purely simple, yet it's effective. Wish I had seen your video 2 weeks ago. My grandsons fish tank got ich and we use ich-x . 4 fish died but now we know how to treat it naturally. Thanks so much😊
Just an update. I followed your advice. Huge respect from you. Last night I was so anxious about my gold fish. They are so lethargic. Just in the bottom. My zebra danios seems to be not affected at all since they are still active. I fed my gold fish last night with garlic. I’m not sure if they ate it. Then gone to sleep. This morning, I rushed to the fish tank hoping that they are still alive. Well, there are improvements vs last night. Im not sure if its because of the garlic but i found left over garlics in the tank. I rushed to pet store to buy heater. Set it up to 30C. And this afternoon, they are really active like they are not sick. And it seems that they are happy with the temp and they swim around. I hope that the ick will go away in few more days. 🙏🏻 btw im new to fish keeping
Yes there is white spots on their tail fins. Its a red white ranchu. It virtually invisible in their body. Because they are white and red heads. Since their tail fins is transluscent, the spots are visble on that part. So yeah. Currently my fishes are still active. No sign of weakness. Seems that they are having fun with the temp. Will continue to monitor hopefully the parasites will be gone for the next few days
@@FatherFish hello sir. It’s day 2 and it keeps on improving. The white spots on my ranchu’s tails are blurrier than yesterday! When can i return the temperature to normal? Thabk you so much and more power!
Thank you for this holistic and drug free approach to one of fishkeeping's oldest headaches. I tried the high temp method and removed all fish to another tank for treatment. Then, I cooked the main tank at 89°F for about 4 days, lowering to 86°F for the remainder of the fortnight. At that point, I lowered the temp back down to 80°F and reintroduced my fish into the tank. Now I know I don't have to move and treat the fish.
@@FatherFish I wanted to starve the ich out of the main tank. I at the time didn't know that heat alone killed ich. I thought it just speeded up its life cycle.
As the chemical treatment has formaldehyde in it, I don’t want it anywhere near any living thing! That means it would enter my ecosystem…no thanks. As a former organic gardener I’m very opposed to chemicals like this. Thank you fir this! Saving it.
Quik Cure, invented by a dear friend, now deceased, contains not only formalin but also malachite green, a highly toxic carcinogen. These are not nice chemicals.
Ive seen your comments on several videos on youtube and they make alot of sense, i come to your channel today because i discovered an Ich outbreak on 2 of my betta females, they had several spots so i isolated them and gave them salt baths, i then discovered the culprit was my oto catfish so i isolated him to and gave him a salt bath each fish was treated in salt for nomore than 8 seconds, i have now realized that my Neon Tetra has just 1 spot but thanks to your video i have now cranked the temp up to 87 F and will let a garlic clove sot for 2 days like you said and on wednesday when i reintroduce the salted fish i will also add the garlic tea to have them all recover quickly 🙏🙌 Thank you so much Father Fish
@@FatherFish So i'm still battling ICH, the Bettas were cured in pretty much 2 days time using the 3 day Salt Bath method, unfortunately my Cobra Guppy and Neon Tetra did not get any better and my Cardinal Tetra passed away. I threw them all in a 5.5 Gallon Aquarium and turned up the heat and added the Garlic juice but found my Guppy and Neon Tetra to fill up with even more Spots! So i got ICH-X and now i'm treating all my fish with it and lowered my Temp to 82 F today is the second day of treatment with ICH-X and the ICH on my Neon Tetra has almost completely fell off, the Cobra Guppy has less ICH not much less but has caught a case of Fungus or possibly fin rot around the back of her tail so i also added 3 Teapsoons of Aquarium salt to the 5.5 gallon tank. Let's see how it goes but definetly on the Bettas the natural way is the way to go 💯
Oh here come all love fish holders 😂 Just discovered my fishes got ICH and decided to join with you guys in treatment of nature. Started today will update soon if it’s effective. - added 6 TBsP sea salt > 65L Tank - turned temp to 32 Celsius degree - added garlic too My tank is made of - 16 Tiger barbs - 7 Black Tetra - 15 Neon tetra - 4 zebra fish - 1 cleanup fish 😂 * Update Day 2 : Some black tetras are healthy again. ICH on their fins are gone. My fishes are way more active than yesterday, they start to eat more and play more with each others. Some Tiger barbs and Neon tetra are still having ICH on their fins. I just qualified Neon to another smaller tanks to let them relax from Tiger Barbs and Balck Tetra. Result is fast ! Will continue this treatment and see. Although I also added BioShock 2 to the tank. * Day 3-4 : Most white dots are gone now. Waiting for fully recovery to stop the heater.
When the ick is gone you will need to do some water changes to get rid of the salt. Do not change more than 25% at a time. Wait until the ick is gone before changing water.
@@thanatosor same I'm gonna do it today only.... May i found father fish early....!! And for your questions you have to change 25% water after ich will gone from the fish ok.
Some waterlogged wood recently added to an uninhabited 20 gallon is showing some slime, the infusion sounds like a good way to keep it in balance. I really appreciate this knowledge, particularly that the physically visible ick infection is the parasite waste. Subscribed.:]
Well you’ve done it. Noticed white spots yesterday and now I have a unopened bottle of medicine. Looks like it’s going to stay that way. Up 2 degree already and about to add salt. Thank you, I know there are no guarantees but I feel better now because I hate the idea of meds if it can be avoided.
I did catch it early but it’s been only 24 hrs and I can no longer see white spots. Amazing. Will continue though to make sure I get it all. Thank you so much
Having my first experience with ich currently, and I greatly appreciate this video, as there are very few medications available (other than salt). I will give the garlic clove a go - good for vampires of all kinds!
Thanks for the info. Never heard of the garlic infusion, is that something that could be done annually to benefit the fish and what's the ratio of water?
I did this before, mixed garlic with raw shrimp and gave fish to eat. Fish loved it. The ick was gone in a couple of days. Water smelled garlic after feeding, so i had to do water change in a few hours of treatment.
Thanks for these tips.. Recently got ick..on my tetras..i think because water temp was at about 70 degrees..and I do regular water changes.. But I have snails and shrimp and can't use chemical.. I cranked the heat up 2 days ago.. I will add garlic with food also..thanks👍👍
Thanks, your simple tips helped save my fish. Have 6 mollies, 2 were dying and the remaining 4 were constantly rubbing themselves on various surfaces. Added 1/2 tbsp salt per gallon water and increased temp to 26 degrees for 1st day, day 2 added 10 more tbsp salt and on day 3 did nothing but a 70% water change. They are all doing perfectly well now, infact they started improving from day 2. Now just keeping the temp at 26 celsius. Also did gravel vac and filter cleaning on 3rd day.
Most aquatic plants in the wild don’t even live in fully aquatic conditions so the heat doesn’t affect them that much but in aquatic condition they die in high heat
Will the heat hurt a freshwater eel or loaches? Your video is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your kind knowledge. More so, the natural and older ways need to be spread around more. That being said, I live as simple a life as my great-grandparents did. Again, thank you.
Thanks Father fish, I noticed some tiny white spots on my ember tetras this morning, my tank was at 78F. The heat is slowly rising(on its way to 30C/86.4F), i have a planted tank so won't use salt. Hoping and 3 days it'll be clear, then I'll keep it at 27C/80F from then on! You're the best❤
@@michellecorreia145 yeah, it's a bit scary to see the temp go up to 86/87F on day 1, but now on day 3 and most of the ich has gone. There are still 2 or 3 small fish struggling but definitely an improvement. I think I'll definitely leave it for a few more days at 86F until it fully clears up and then leave at 82F as father fish recommends. Funny thing is the plants grow super fast at 86F, had to cut some back today!
@@DashDrones thank you for responding. I’m glad it’s working for you. I’m in the process of raising my temp now. It’s up to 83.. it was 80.. trying to do it slowly. I was worried about my plants but I guess they will be ok. Keep me updated woth your progress. Good luck!
@@michellecorreia145no problem! Yeah, in the last hour I fed some baby brine shrimp and they're doing so much better than earlier today. I'm in Ireland so it's now after 10pm. So happy, the fish are doing amazing at 86F and most of it has finally gone. I think I won't stress them again and will slowly decrease the heat over weeks and not days.. Hope your fish get well soon too 👍
After the temperature treatment, is it really necessary to do the water changes? What amount and how often if so? Thank you for sharing your wisdom! Greetings!
Hi Father, thank you for the info it was nicely explained, I have one goldfish in my small aquariums and it has two white spot on the tail, I want to try this treatment (garlic tea with raised temp) but there is one question, since I have biological filtration in my top filter, do I need to remove the biological filter first and only use the mechanical filtration? Thanks in advance for the answer 👍🏻
Great vid FF. just made the woman watch this….been telling her for ages. She’s got a molly tank that’s had ongoing ick issues for too long! She refuses to listen to me so had to get the father involved 😂👊🏼
Howdy y'all! Glad I watched a few. Gonna try the garlic maybe for fun. Oh, I see a video on the side that you entitled how to use garlic... Gonna watch it now. I could use some garlic and spinach myself. Peace out, yo.
Currently starting this method (in which I mean the heat & the garlic) for my platy's and molly's. The platy's show no white spots, but other signals for ich. I'll update after a week to see if it worked out! Updates: (Started turning the heat to 86 fahrenheit / +30 celsius on thursday night. Cleaned 1/3 of the water out and added the garlic tea on saturday.) •Saturday: the signals are still there. Such as going agaist leaves, objects and clambing the fins together. 5 fry died and I removed the rest of the fry out in another tank. •Sunday morning: one ot the younger platy fish died. Still signs of ich, although they eat well. The fry seems fine, still keeping an eye on them since they don't seem to eat much. Turned the heat a bit down and probably going to buy a medicine tomorrow so no more fish die. •Monday: bought the medicine 'exit' and started the 3 day cure. I turned the heat to normal again before and placed the fry back in the tank. •Following week thursday: used the medicine like it should and I don't think that the fish have it anymore. Some fish died before I started the medicine & in the beginning. My recommendation: If you want to be sure that the method you use is working & you want to have a smaller change of losing fish, choose medicine from a well known fish brand. But ofcourse you can always choose to use the method from this video, it just didn't work for me.
I’m currently fighting ich I have guppies green tiger barbs albino black widow tetras cherry barbs yoyo loaches plecos and ember tetras who currently have ich I’ve raised the temp to 30°c and it seems to be working and I added garlic granules as that’s all I had the fish ate it and the ich seems to be dying off thank you father fish your absolutely my hero
Hi. I would like to ask more on the garlic infusion. Do you pour the garlic infused water into the aquarium? Or do you soak it food pellets and feed that to fish? Tq
@@FatherFish hello father fish, does a garlic infusion cause beneficial bacteria to die off as well? Cause after giving garlic infusion for my fish tank, the tank has turned cloudy. Is it normal? Tq
I've always used the heat method but didn't know about the garlic tonic. Thanks for the tip. Would you recommend using it once a month or so as a preventative?
garlic is organic so be careful about dosing heavily. Yes, it is a good tonic. The best way to administer is to mix it with your food. Get it in the fish's gut for best results.
Hello father fish Nice tips you got yourself a new sub and a like also I have a question about dry water stains or salt deposits on the side of the aquarium how and what do you suggest to do to keep it from happening
Hi. Thank you for the video. I am new to the hobby and unfortunately lost all of my fish to ick recently. I didn't catch it in time, and by the time I started using some medicine, which I now realize is not the best method for treatment, it was to late to save my fish. I had some tetras, platys and guppies. My next step from here is to buy an adjustable heater so I can raise the temperature to 86/87 degrees. My question to you is....I now have no fish in the tank, and I do not want to lose my established water cycle, so should I just run the high temps for a few days to kill off any existing parasites? I will do a partial water change, but can I keep my filter, ornaments, gravel, etc... in the tank? And when could I introduce new fish to my tank?
Good idea to raise temp for a few days. The parasites die without a host in about 2 weeks. If you keep the temp at 82 it will prevent new infestation. Good luck and keep usposted. BTW You can use our DISCORD platform to get idea and help as needed. discord.gg/3FKTxjGk
Excellent question. Goldfish will survive in higher temps for a few days, long enough to treat for ink. Cold water darters and others will not do as well. Keep it just above 85.
Hello father fish I have been dealing with having ich breakouts for a while now and now I'm on my second algae bloom I'm going to start following what you had provided for the ich problem but was wondering what I could do about the algae bloom both at the same time and how to prevent it from happening would love to hear your feedback. Thanks again😊
@@FatherFish Thank you so much your channel has helped me out tremendously I thought my tank was a lost cause but you have given me knowledge and strength to keep going much respect!! ✌❤✌
/thank you. Currently doing heat treatment. And was worried the water is too hot for my fish and plants snails. Currently at 85. Will continue. Adding garlic… but wondering about the 2 day infusion.. anyway of speeding that up? As worried my fish might be dead by then!
DO NOT add garlic. Feed tiny portions of it crushed after the fish are improved. Raise the temp to 96, not 85 and leave it there for 3 days. It gets hotter than that in the summer here in Maryland.
I am dumb sorry, but 87f seem way too high for my shrimp. But I just get otocinclus with ich today, and they are my first fish ever ! I dont know what to do. My water temp is at 72 right now
hello sir thankyou ,I tried your method and it worked , I don't have a heater so what I did is I put the plastic container in the area that can be hit by sunlight . I put it there in the morning for about 4 hrs. It makes the water temperature to 30°c. Today is the 7th day of treatment and the ich are gone, the fish are healthy. But I would like to ask sir if when can I put my fish on its planted tank? Is it safe to move them back to the tank? The tank is fishless only snails, but I didn't do any medication in it cause this is planted. No heater, but I did 4 times of 50 %water change.
There are ick cysts in the tank. Wait 2 weeks and they will die. You can add 1 tspp5g salt to control the ick. in the tank. It will not hurt the plants.
How much water for the garlic tea for a 20 gallon tank? And are you heating the tea water regularly for the two days or just when you first put it in and then let it stay at room temp?
Trying it now! My tank is 2 years old but I had goldfish before that I moved to a bigger cycles tank. I went to a good store and got 3 small angelfish, 1 gourami and 2 bolivian rams and 5 cory and 6 platy (2 males, 4 females). Lost 1 male this morning. Platies started the ich! Raised the temps to 84 yesterday and now 86. Should I go higher? Are the rams going to be ok with the hot temperature? I can t put salt because of the plants and sensitive fish I use new life spectrum food with garlic in it :)
I'm confused and need some clarification. I've watched your videos several times, and what I'm hearing is to use the garlic tincture after two days. In the comments, I see you telling people to use crushed garlic. Do we still wait for two days? Also, I see people mentioning salt, are you recommending this, and if so, how much? The outbreak in my goldfish tank, and it's still OK to raise temp to 86 for three days. Your help would be greatly appreciated..
To cure ick raise the temperature to 87f for 3 days. If the ick is not completely gone keep the temp up until it is gone. The garlic is best used as a food. Garlic tincture is intended to stop any bacteria that are attacking the wound left by the parasite. Similarly the salt will help the fish produce more slime getting rid of bacteria and parasites.
@Father Fish Thanks for your response. . How long should I offer the crushed garlic 🤔 . I also have two fancy goldfish in separate tank waiting to go in outside pond. What do you recommend as a Preventative treatment ? They are showing no signs, but I'm very reluctant to add to pond .
@@elanefries3870 Elane I think we need more clarification.Join me at THE FATHER FISH SHOAL on Discord, discord.gg/GDXcjeap I would like to dig into this more deeply.

They aren't white, they are light blue, just a shade lighter than his body color. These 2 tiny dots have been there for a week. No changes in his activity or appetite. Should I treat this as ich or possibly something else? Thank you for your wisdom.

So much bad teaching. Kick that temp up. Best wishes.
You are so welcome!
How much tea water did you use?
@@jessicadavey893 i didnt use tea water. i used the tea pitcher as goldfish hospital to keep him from floating around the bottom of tank & getting stuck on the filter. I put garlic and his tank water in it. He is still alive!!
Thank you so much for the natural cure!! All those fish breeders want to give you a quick cure that isn't necessary and could be bad in the big picture. I am so happy to find out that I can help my fish with something that isn't going to harm the tank later. Awesome! I'm a subscriber now!
Simple, basic, honest. Good enough.
Good job Mark. Nice to hear f rom you.
So wise! Thank you for your advise 🙏 My fish are suffering from Ick, I raised the temp of the tank and some garlic and it’s really helping.
Increasing the temperature 32C works and does not harm your fish, even my guppy fry didnt mind the increase in temperature. I wish I wasn't so hesitant at putting the temperature up and would have put the temperature up the second I saw my fish flashing.
learning is growing
It's been nearly a year since I saw this video. I checked it out when my little salvini was dying from the wretched ich. Today, thanks to the excellent advice provided here, she's flourishing and is my favourite fish I've got.
Love salvini. Glad she escaped the dreaded parasite.

By tea do you mean the garlic infused water only or dump water with garlic in it ? I’ve watched this many times. Thank so much.
You will know in 2 days.
@@FatherFish update, it is now day 3 of using only high temperature treatment. Well, it didn't get worse that's the good news I still see flashing but it is not escalating I would say it is rather stay the same or has slightly improved. But all in all I think I'm heading in the right direction.

I'm doing aquaponics so this is a perfect solution as I do know the power of garlic
Did you see white spots on the goldfish?
Yes there is white spots on their tail fins. Its a red white ranchu. It virtually invisible in their body. Because they are white and red heads. Since their tail fins is transluscent, the spots are visble on that part. So yeah. Currently my fishes are still active. No sign of weakness. Seems that they are having fun with the temp.
Curious. Why did you remove the fish? 89 is normal temp foor tropicals

I wanted to starve the ich out of the main tank.

- 7 Black Tetra
- 15 Neon tetra
- 4 zebra fish
- 1 cleanup fish

* Update Day 2 :
Some black tetras are healthy again.

Very small amount of garlic, mashed as food.
Most aquatic plants in the wild don’t even live in fully aquatic conditions so the heat doesn’t affect them that much but in aquatic condition they die in high heat

Currently starting this method (in which I mean the heat & the garlic) for my platy's and molly's. The platy's show no white spots, but other signals for ich. I'll update after a week to see if it worked out!
Updates:
(Started turning the heat to 86 fahrenheit / +30 celsius on thursday night. Cleaned 1/3 of the water out and added the garlic tea on saturday.)
•Saturday: the signals are still there.
My recommendation:
If you want to be sure that the method you use is working & you want to have a smaller change of losing fish, choose medicine from a well known fish brand.
But ofcourse you can always choose to use the method from this video, it just didn't work for me.
I outlined one method, not two. If they are not healed in a week they will be dead. Heat system works in 24 hrs. Watch the video again.

garlic is organic so be careful about dosing heavily. Yes, it is a good tonic. The best way to administer is to mix it with your food. Get it in the fish's gut for best results.

Hi thank you for your video. I want to ask you about Pond Salt. I heard this helps also. Can Pond Salt be used also along with Garlic.
Yes you can! Salt slows wdown the metabolism of the fish and causes it to excrete slime coat. Both are beneficial to healing.

Preventative treatment ? They are showing no signs, but I'm very reluctant to add to pond .
@@elanefries3870 Elane I think we need more clarification.Join me at THE FATHER FISH SHOAL on Discord, discord.gg/GDXcjeap
I would like to dig into this more deeply.
So I already started medicating my tank. Should I replace the activated carbon and try your method or keep going with the medication??
What do you think is best?
@@FatherFish I think it’s best I get that stuff out. Is it ok to soak his food in garlic?
Can you use the pre minced garlic in a jar? I looked at the ingredients and it’s just water garlic and citric acid.
Yep. It's fine. Rinse first then add to food.
Father Fish thank you
Have you got any advice on saltwater ick much appreciated.
Hi Father Fish, I have a koi pond. Does this apply to them as well? And can i have a link to a good heater please? Thank you!
Yes it does. Try to find a 400 Watt heater, preferably not a Chinese knocko
ff. They have inadequate power.
Is aquarium salt a medication you reccomend having at hand?
Motr a tonic than a med. Salt slows metabolism and promotes slime coat. It also reduces some bacteria.
@@FatherFish Okay. I'm still not sure if that means you reccomend it or not. I've seen it do very good things.
@@duncandonuts5268 Salt is not medicative. It allows the body to conserve energy and heal.
@@FatherFish Okay.
Is it rhetorical same with goldfish orandas
yes
How much of the garlic infusion would you use?
I no longer use garlic infusion
How much of the garlic water would you put in a 90 gallon aquarium?
None. I no longer use garlic extract. I feed crushed garlic in small amounts.
Hi Father Fish!
HI
No Name !
@fatherfish I have a young betta that is a paradise color (blue with orange fins). I see 2 tiny dots that I thought could be ich. They aren't white, they are light blue, just a shade lighter than his body color. These 2 tiny dots have been there for a week. No changes in his activity or appetite. Should I treat this as ich or possibly something else? Thank you for your wisdom.
It is not ick Kizzi. If the dots change then you will need to do something about it. For now just keep an eye of the spots.
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me! I've been so concerned about my young fella. I didn't think it was Ich but I wanted to ask you. Your content is a true blessing. Thank you, again. Blessings good sir!
Help ! Good morning treating ick using your temp method. Dosage for a 29g and 100g tank ? I’ve got 2 cloves in hot tap right now.,while raising temps
