Almost turned the vidio off,....but admired yer determination. When you brought out the "Sledge-a-matic" ,& the drift pins/ l "knew tou could DO IT"! It ALL looks kind of "Rinky-dink";( because it was bending the dipper-stick when activated)., Plus the Visibility is just about "SHOT" with that Contraption, just "Dangling out There ". My "factory unit" on a kubogy thats 4 sizes bigger was 900.°°$ 5 years ago. Its a VERY well Engineered atachment, but Realy NEEDS to be Hydrolicly activated to be 375% better. Thank you Sir for the Excelent vidio and happy safe tractoring. Best wishes with all your endeavours.
I got mine mounted,. I used a 6x6 about 14 inches long,. I stood it up in the bucket an curled it up against the frame of the thumb and it gave me enough clearance to run my bolts through,. Hope this helps someone,,. 🙂
Mounted mine in an LS-MT125 using the plates from an axle u-joint as shims. I cut the dog ears off the corners to protect the ram can. I'm getting great use out of it. Love. your video.
I bought the same thumb for my BX24 and faced the same issues. I have years of hands on experience in steel fabrication shops and there is no way I would try to design and fabricate this from scratch though I am more than capable of it. There are times whey you just spend the $$ and let someone else do the work. I would still buy this thumb even if I were faced with some major rework to make it fit.
This thing has been the bane of my existence for the last 2 days... For SOME unknown reason that only the devil himself can fathom, Branson BH 90 Backhoe dipper arms are 1/2" wider than EVERY OTHER manufacturer of Backhoes of the same size... Even the Branson BH 100 and 150 have narrower dippers! Apparently, it's JUST the BH90 this thing won't fit on... The amount of fabrication I am going to have to do between cutting EVERYTHING apart, inserting new DOM tubing, steel support structure on not only the bracket, but the tooth assembly as well, and then welding it back together UNREAL! And Titan would only take the return if I PAID the shipping AND a restocking fee. So, I get what.. a whole $50 back! Hell... Branson doesn't even make an OEM thumb for the BH90 and no aftermarket company does either... Gonna be some hardcore redneck engineering going on to get this thing to work... SUCH a pain in the ASS!
Mine came with a plate that worked perfectly on the same model tractor as yours. Easy mount and fits great! No fighting. Not sure how to post a pic here, but has 3 bolts through it and put the 4th on the bottom of the boom. (Probably not necessary but hey it was in the hardware bag) 😁
I sure am glad you posted this video! I purchased the very same thumb. I put mine on a DR backhoe. Seems to work fine except one of the bolts like the one you were having trouble with but on the bottom, sticks out far enough that the thumb will not fold up. I think washer under the head will fix it, or I'll cut it off. I wonder why those 2 bolts are there anyway. They don't seem to benefit its function at all. Anyway thanks for posting, it made it a whole lot easier for me.
I bought one off ebay that fit a kobita. I have a kioti cs2510. I had to weld mine on and cut that top off the bracket where the cylander is. Works great for what it is. At 170.00 I'm not complaining. Better then 1000 kioti was wounting. Lol you had some of the same problem I had installing. Just a smigg from fitting correctly. At least you got the bolt in. Have you put a grappler on your bucket yet
Wouldn't even fit on my Branson.. The dipper arm is 1/2" too wide... Have to literally cut the entire thing into pieces, insert new steel, and re-weld the entire damn thing...
The thumb has held up great. That metal plate I didn’t install….ends up that really important. Where the bolts run across my backhoe arm it puts too much pressure and bent the arm. The plate would prevent this. I have purchased a trenching bucket from Bxpanded. If I were doing it over I’d just buy from them. High quality stuff from Bxpanded.
Bent my boom arm on my bx tightening down with the plate that goes against the boom arm. I cut and welded the plate make it the same width as the boom arm. Also did some cutting ang grinding for cylinder clearance.
That is NOT the BxPanded thumb. That is the generic Chinese thumb. Check out this video for the one Made in America. ua-cam.com/video/XYHwoZuVdh0/v-deo.html

Great video I bought the exact same part and would’ve had no idea how to put it on my tractor.

Nice video! Very useful in making my decision.

Buddy. You. Done. Good. I've got the same one,. Hope I can get it mounted,. Thanks

I just ordered one for my kubota.
I just got mine and wow it is solid heavy, this thing will never bent any wood or rocks for mini capacity...

picsaregreat Thanks buddy, glad it helped!
I cut the bolt off to allow folding.. Washers would have been faster, but I did not have any that size.
Love the big hammer use…. The boom is only 1/8” sheet steel.
Kubota K008-3 mini excavator. Got a little cut, grind and welding ahead. Thanks
Not sure if you’ve found this guys channel yet, but it’s great. Here’s his video on thumbs for excavators: ua-cam.com/video/gWxiKM-6500/v-deo.html
Great video thank you for sharing
Thanks! Glad you like it. Have a good one.
Don't force it git a bigger hammer.
I always say, don’t force it use a bigger hammer

Not yet, but I want one.

Can you tell me where you got this from and what model?
Just wondering how it's held up so far and would you still purchase or do anything different. I'm wanting to install a bolt on on my backhoe.

theres a missing part on yours. Theres a plate that bolts on that puts pressure on the arm where you had hard time getting bolts through.
ManInBlack673 I left it off purposely. As far as I can tell it’s not necessary on my machine. Thanks for watching!
Bent my boom arm on my bx tightening down with the plate that goes against the boom arm. I cut and welded the plate make it the same width as the boom arm. Also did some cutting ang grinding for cylinder clearance.
That's like love tapping with a big fukcing hammer LOL
Use the wood and drop the arm on it
Go buy a bolt a little smaller and use the upper holes as well;-)

Too bad when you got the cheap one off Amazon it didn't come with instructions🤣🤣🤣
Instructions? What’s that? I didn’t see any pictures.
