Just a little FYI. Someone who attended a Bears practice reported on it. They spoke about how Matt Eberflus would force Justin Fields to catch punts, while standing next to him & whispering to him that he was doing great.
This is just another tidbit of what the problems are. Either 'Flus _is completely inept_ or management is trying to break Fields. To what end? Who knows? All I know is I hope they draft another QB & trade him, 'cause it's quite obvious that this team doesn't want him.

This game reaffirmed my stance on the bears needing to keep Justin Fields. DJ Moore and Cole Kmet are the only viable pass catchers currently on the team. Darnell Mooney, Tyler Scott, and Robert Tonyan are down right liabilities

This video shows that JF1 was NOT the reason the Bears lost this game. No one could contain Miles Garrett, and the rest of the Browns defensive line. Recievers dropping balls, Getsys bad play calling, and Eberflus blitzing everyone on 3rd and 15 was basically why this game wasn't won. Continue to build around Fields, get another good receiver hopefully MHJ, another tight end, center, left tackle, and another dominant pass rusher to go with Sweat, and we're good. We can definitely get a haul, with the number one pick, and then pick up some more players, in free agency. 🐻 Down!!

    • @micaheldey1981
      @micaheldey1981 6 місяців тому +3

MHJ and Brock B would be perfect but since they need a OT, C, edge rusher and 3-tech it’s going to be interesting to see how they address it in what order. The Bears have plenty holes to fill, JF is the last thing they need to change at the moment. Give him more weapons and a solid line and if he doesn’t produce next year you can move on with a team that is ready made and solid all around.

Ryan Poles is in a dangerous situation because Fields is still flashing MVP caliber upside even tho his only viable pass catcher is DJ Moore. If he trades fields away to a team like Atlanta, Seattle, or Pittsburgh (all of which have better weapons than the Bears) Fields will succeed. Due to this, that rookie qb better be as good if not better than Justin Fields or else Ryan Poles no doubt is fired.
A GM minimizing risk would go the build around Fields route. Ryan Poles did it last year, and he’ll do it again this year when he drafts Marvin Harrison Jr.

Keep in mind, the Bear's receivers run a ton of choice routes, so that could be the reason why JF1 doesn't throw a receiver the ball the moment they break because he has to be sure they're going in the direction that he's throwing. Overall as far as the QB goes, if the Bears don't know for sure yet, trading the #1 and possibly getting assets back for possibly 2025 would make it really easy and safe to ensure that if things don't go the way as expected, we at least have something on the horizon. If the Bears trust in Fields, get him all the help he needs including a OC. I would trust that JF1 will improve over the summer because history has shown us that he definitely improves every year.

Lol Bagent shows he can throw to different receivers, even the ones in stride and won us 2 games in a short period, while it takes Fields FOREVER to win us one game. Fields is always after big game plays (50+ yards) when he don't want to settle for 20+ yards. He's so used to having an OSU offense where the guys he throw to, are always wide open so he can easily throw to them whether it's underthrown or overthrown but when he got onto the NFL level, he finally realized he no longer have a wide open offense, just an offense that he have to figure out who to throw to by reading the defense, for which he can't at all. On 3rd and 8 when Justin takes the sac at the beginning of the play Mooney is split out wide and Moore is in the slot. Moore has outside leverage on his defender and he is doing and out route. This is the read 1. Mooney goes in motion and pulls the corner back over the outside shoulder of Moore taking away the advantage of outside leverage. Hence the sac.

I have nothing against Fields, but this is the NFL and so many QB's of the past have either turned into backups, fade away after a couple seasons, or they continue as a starter! Fields isn't the only QB to have an inconsistent offensive line or inconsistent skilled position personnel. The starters that manage 10+ win seasons on most seasons usually have good idea where they are going with the ball before the snap as well as a 2nd look in his progression. Too many times his peripheral vision is on the pressure and not at the route break to get the ball out with anticipation. People say that Fields needs to fix this issue, but if you ask me, it's the most difficult thing to get rid of. QB anxiety at year 3 tells me that his growth has been impeded. This is an issue that simply cannot be taught, and it happens too often to expect 10+ win seasons! Fields is better than he was earlier in the season, but after 36 games, he will have to improve more than you think if you want to win a SB! After next season, he'll be pulling in 40+ million and help will be hard to come by!

It's really been no secret that the Bears offense, which includes the offensive coordinator, cannot deal with blitzes ever since the first Minnesota game this 2023 season.
But your video is the first to show me why-at least in part-that's because of the numb-nuts offensive coordinator not throwing simple concepts that Justin can throw quickly to avoid the quick pressure.
And why are we throwing the ball 70 to 80 percent of the time against this great pass rush? How about more rushing attempts especially from Justin Fields? How we train the left tackle to take out Myles Garrett knees when executing a screen play so that he can't jump 10 ft in the air to knock down the pass?
And this coaching staff thought that we didn't need to use any of the preseason to work on the offense. Fireable offense.

Play calling is a bigger issue than Fields is, but that doesn't absolve Fields completely either. One thing I wonder is how many coaches would be eager to have a chance at being able to develop an offense with Fields. Do the top coaches in the league view Fields the same was his strongest supporters do? If Fields were to be traded, how much of a guarantee is it that he will explode into greatness wherever he lands next?
At the moment, it doesn't feel like these questions have particularly definitive answers.

A good coaching staff can improve Fields and play around his strengths/avoiding his weaknesses. Fields' leadership and locker room respect is not something you can coach.
We saw the improvement this year with the addition of Moore and Sweat, and the improvement of Kmet and o-line (to an extent). If it was't for those 3 monumental collapses, we would be 8-6 this year. Improve the rest of the team even more, and we can end up a 10~12 win team.

He's the QB. His responsibility is to win us games. He has yet to do that on a consistent basis, therefore all of the losses is on him.

I'm in Seattle, always Bears fan. That's 4 in a row losses for Eagles. Hurtz looks tired. They will still win the conference. Lock was lightning in a bottle on that game winner td. Sadly Justin has never had one

    Haha…
    After 3 years same talk.
    It's everyone else fault .
Jordan Love had 9 rookie starters on our offense and guess what?
he made his whole team better. That’s what a real quarterback does.

The title of this video is tape don’t lie, please show all the tape where Justin does not read the defenses and doesn’t hit the wide-open wide receivers. Where he doesn’t make the proper checks at the line like all good quarterbacks do. Don’t cherry-pick.

When are they going yo acknowledge its everything else around fields letting him down in key moments...even majority fumbles. He is the guy. Every ither nfl team and player knows it. Those who disagree are bias ...either dont want yo play him or want to play with him.

On the first play Fields is not on time must be thrown sooner. And it starts with his foot work.

Fields can only run the plays called for him. Getsy admits he doesn’t let Fields audible much

7:45 was not on fields. He had a defender in his path in front and behind of wr and would’ve been picked off if he threw it.
