I can't wait to get back into the gym! Just 15 more days to go. I'm currently taking a break from weight lifting because my CNS is fried. Looking forward to hopping on Season 14! 💪🔥
I’m 54 and hit lifetime pr’s in squat and deadlift in comp just few months ago 518 and 642…also I train abs just bout everyday and hit grip, hams and back quite hard…never done ghd sit-ups but lot of weighted decline, weighted Roman chair sit-ups,ab wheel and side planks
love front squats for core-specific work, as well as single handed farmer walks or farmer deadifts. and yeah, I was telling in a video (not uploaded yet) at the same time as you that I am actually smaller than my girlfriend when sitting down bc of my long legs lol. she is 5'2" and I am 6 ft haha.
thx coach. For covering my age question. Also i will hammer my abs. i never do them almost + skip them if programmed lol. Will definitely bring my lower body lifts up.
Sometimes I will pair my leg day with some light lower abdominal focused training. I feel like theres alot of underdevelopment that can occur in that region.
I have been working out since after highschool now 37. I have gone years doing machines only bodybuilding higher rep training while trying to get stronger on those exercises. And i have gone the more free weight barbell lift and dumbbells for accessories type stuff but never stuck to it long term. I always seemed to change my mind about what i like to do. Now i basically like to powerbuild. I always say i want to be strong like a powerlifter and jacked like a bodybuilder. As of recent i have started to strength train on my favourite lifts squat and a heavy barbell shoulder press. Now since i am already trained with working out for many years, would i get any "newbie" gains when it comes to strength as i haven't fully commited to strength training on my barbell lifts? Thanks.
Yes but it’s a tad more than that. I offer what I call consulting which is basically building training cycles and explaining what the client needs after assessing them and how they need to execute. If you’re interested shoot me an email!
Yeahhhh unfortunately there’s no way around that one! You could always drop them off at the fire house 😂 I’m planning on having kids and adopting. When that day comes I won’t have any recovery LOL
@@BrendanTietzashwagandha was a lifesaver during the first six months for me. My strength was still getting better even at a max of 5 hours of sleep. Luckily he was a pretty chill baby during the day in general, except occasional reflux.
No, conjugate just means joining together. He put together a template of sorts where you train “dynamic effort” “max effort” and “repetition method” but all it is in actuality is doing accessory work for high reps and doing big lifts for low reps heavy or light. It’s very 1 dimensional. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t work to some degree but DUP is far more malleable and dynamic. It allows a host of adaptations to be trained in various rep ranges. You never would have seen Louie prescribing 10s on squats but you’ll see that often in the DUP scene aka every modern powerlifter. Tbh I don’t even know how conjugate gets mentioned anymore unless you just find it fun.

That’s so badass! Hoping to do the same into my 50s! And shit if I can be like Dave maybe even 60s!

Duuuude yeah HAMMER them! They’re so vital. Literally helps hip and back health, helps strength, and looks better hahaga

Why i can't stay tight in the lowering and or lower part of a high bar squat? Thx in advance for All of your work Salute

For a second I thought you were holding your dog up by the head! 😂
I didn’t leave that part In 😂
Brendan - do you design paid programs on a one time paid basis?
I've seen quite a few coaches offer this, and would be very interested

Having kids is detrimental to powerlifting.. unfortunately 😅 affects all areas of recovery
