There have been articles on the Chagos Islands that say that many of the residents and former residents who were forced out had no say in how this handover was done. So Hislop is looking pretty patronizing and arrogant saying the UK did what it should have done, while many of the actual people affected said the UK did not do the right thing. i.e. He acted like a complete twat.
