George Benson created his own branch of jazz. How authentic. He is the greatest
What's the title of this first song sir?
Check it: jazz basement, Boston, late 60s, weeknight, near empty; table 9ft from the MAN. He introduces this new kid, Klugh, on his first tour with GB, who leaves him to a solo set while he calls home from the payphone. Unforgettable. Unforgettable, y'all.
Hahaha great Life 😹
Maravillosos
Thanks to share the story, i knew only since my first elementary school on 1980 when he captivated my ears with magic in your eyes composition, since that time series of his cassette album become my daily dose ……wish to attend his life performance someday…

Whats the title of this first song sir?
Stanley Banks Mr bass + foot tambourine has probably been with GB forever; I've been lucky to have seen GB live a few times over the years.
23:35 amazing "scat" singing , George and Margaret Taylor, a.k.a. Machan Taylor
At 17:06 to 17:20…I was like WHAT WAS THAT!?!? Yikes wow one of the most incredible chromatic guitar licks I’ve ever heard, and it just kept going and going until the end of the song! Unbelievable and beautiful playing by the master George Benson
Little Georgie Benson, a self taught child prodigy, became the greatest guitarist in Pittsburgh and now, the greatest guitar player on the planet

53 thumbs down people here were Klughless.
Such an innovative man. Who gets jazz pop out of a Spanish guitar beside Reinhardt.
No kidding. These guys are two of the best ever... George did stray from his jazz purist roots a bit, but... they are soooo good.
Amazing. I play- but not like this. He was pure talent. I have zero talent but took many lessons. Nothing beats talent and a good ear.

Бэнсон и его коллектив это тот уровень, к которому наши русские эстрадные музыканты всегда стремились, у нас называют это фирмой)) круто❤
George at his golden ages …..powerful voice
What's the title of this first song sir?
That song Brazilian Stomp wonderfully played by these two great musicians George Benson and Earl Klugh and rest of the band magnificent
Great performances marred by a truly terrible sound mix....it's all over the place...low level vocals, random bass, either too much or too little...but NEVER the right balance. Unbelievable.
"...a brand new album called Collaboration..." Man, where did those thirty-five years go?

IS GEORGES BENSON THE FIRST WHO SANG “ THE GREATEST OF ALL LOVE “” SONG INSPIRED BY MUHAMMAD ALI STORY AND WROTE BY Michael Masser & Linda Creed .1987 !!!! Then the sublime Witney Houston will “sparkle it up ...” world 🌎 wide later !!
My first great photo of a George Benson concert I shoot than during this concert! Many photos will followed and many “ North Sea Jazz posters” were signed with my photos including the studio shoot “kissing the Ibanez Guitar” in 1995. George Benson i love his music for decades!
Great adventure!!!!!!
The entire Band had a Very Good Performance 👍👍👍Everyone is on point 👍👍👍You can see Bensen respects Klugh .Klugh is not joke he holds his own
In spite of the fact they spent most of Earl's set screwing around with the equipment, and Earl was dressed as if someone called him in his hotel room while he was having a beer and watching the game and told him, "We need you onstage in ten minutes. George wants to do a few cuts from 'Collaboration'." The bass player's incessant gyrating and bouncing around doing 80s aerobics (Ala Olivia Newton John), on every song was an unnecessarily unpleasant distraction from the demeanor of the rest of the group, and the set. I thought this was supposed to be a smooth jazz set? George doing more pop singing than jazz grooving. Yeah, good performance. But I've seen better from both of them, believe me.😕
Stanely Banks.. right-handed bassist, left-footed tambourinest
Amazing G.B. and Earl Klugh performance!!👍👍🎸🎸💓💓🎼🎼🎶🎶

Wahnsinnskonzert!!Wow!!👏👏👏
Went to the Hampton Jazz Festival a couple of years ago because he was there. Thought he would be top billed, naturally. He was the second act and the artist to close out the show was....Fantasia..WTF? She of quivering lip was headlined over George Benson? I left the show after her second song. That shit is no longer a "jazz festival". "POPfest" is more descriptive. Haven't been back.
Never heard of her.
Most of them are pop or r&b now.
I love jazz this is a beatiful music
Amazing!
simply magical
That's really beautiful reviving jazz God bless🙏🏻
How come his guitar volume is so low?
Mr George🙏🏻
