@@byuonesprobably because they're not that skilled of a dev. Opening up modding that possibly could fix their game would make them look worse. They had a great concept, and acted on it decently well for one of their first projects, but that's unfortunately the extent. The game has been consistently buggy for years, even though it has been getting constant updates and "bug fixes". Hell, the parabolic mic has been in the game for something like 2 years, has only gotten an actual use just this past half year, and is still so buggy it's basically useless. Game breaking bugs often take upwards of 3 months to be "fixed", and even then they often get a new way to do them within a week. Take for instance the way doors are buggy as hell and could be permanently pushed open by pushing them out of their doorframe. Took a solid 6 months before it got "fixed", and within a day people managed to do the exact same by instead of moving forward to break them, just moving backwards to break them. That bug was still in a year later, it just got "fixed" by forcing the outside door shut during a hunt. Or take the bug where you could become "immortal" using a ouija board. You could die 200+ times, piling a house full of bodies. It took more than a month to fix that one. But then there are the other type of bugs that are more just exploits, which get fixxed within a week. A corner in a single room in the asylum where the ghost can't reach your hitbox? Fixed within a week. Ghost responses are predictable and it can speed up hunts by asking "show me", to have them show themselves. Well, can't have that, so it got fixed within a week. So yeah, allowing mods would probably be devastating to them. Simply because the bugs that have existed for years would probably all get fixed within a month.
Part of the reason might be that phasmo is availabke on multiple platforms, so they would have to patch in anticheat for xbox, steam, playstation, etc. The exploits are probably easier to fix then engine abuse. Just look at minecraft, whose updates slowed to a fraction of the speed. I mean thats my opinion but I might be wrong
37:12 while it's true that you can't hide from a Deogen, it's also true that the deogen can't catch you if you run. It will know where everyone on the map is, but it will slow to a crawl when it gets close. If you move, you'll stay alive.
1:57:46 one thing you could do with the monkey paw in this challenge is, "I wish for sunset" to get a warmer weather at the cost of 25% sanity, but you have known. It'll help find the ghost room. Then, "I wish for sanity" to set everyone at 50% (it will increase sanity drain, though) I would recommend taking sanity meds to further raise it, but CJ likes to set them to 0 sanity regen for challenges. If the ghost hunts immediately, then you can discount the shade. If no hunt, then "I wish the ghost was trapped" and make sure you can get to a hiding spot. This wish also traps you in your current room. After the ghost is freed it will hunt, but the door will keep the "locked" symbol when you find it (you can open it at this point) so you now know it's ghost room. You can also wish to see the ghost if you suspect a Phantom. When it appears, you can take a picture of it, and if it vanishes it's a phantom. I don't know if "I wish for safety" works on prison, and even if it does, it can sense your voice and equipment anywhere on the map. If it's early and you don't mind being visually and audibly crippled you can wish for knowledge with your 4th or last wish.
1:26:50 me and my friends play 20 Questions essentially where 1 throw is a yes, 2 is no, 3 is unknown. So, "Is it fast?", "Is it writing?", "Is it a demon?", Etc. Also, throwing items at the truck wall to signal evidence.
Your second run (where you had the shade) actually did have ghost writing. Tier 1 ghost writing is super faint and hard to see, but you can easily tell if a book has writing in it if its pen is gone. Also, that shade wasn't in the same room as you when it started hunting. In the hunt when you died, the ghost had just roamed into the kitchen and started the hunt from there.

I think in this type of challenge, the best way to utilize the sanity meds is maybe wait til two people have died and the remaining two people use the meds to up their sanity way more
I enjoyed watching the complexity of this one more than other episodes so far. It became about strategy instead of just sitting and waiting. I feel yalls skills jumped tremendously just by completely this weekly challenge. Kinda hoping the next challenge is just (if not more) difficult.
I'm usually the type of person who waits for highlight reels rather than watching full streams unless I'm there live - Phasmo with this group of sillies is my exception. :D

I think the only reason Skizz didn’t die in the prison is because at the LAST minute he crouched, breaking the line of sight. Because the ghost 100% saw him go in there. Could also be a glitch in the game but I like to think it was lucky timing
It's probably because I love the T1 UV, but I wish they would add some white glowsticks as consumables that you can toss around to light up areas. That way you can have passive lighting in ghost rooms, lighting on the way to hiding spots, highlight loops, etc.
I know it's not just me. I enjoy the excitement when I see/hear these guys play together so much it makes me want to play the game and try to figure it out myself. I always feel like I'm along for the ride, even as a YT viewer.
this was my favorite phasmo stream yet! seeing you guys begin to master the game and use the more subtle clues and reasoning rather than the normal run of the mill evidence was a thrill to watch
Activity monitor in the van: it measures every interaction the ghost does, so you could theoretically find an emf 2 with the emf reader, if the board raises by 2. If there is an emf 5 interaction, the board will raise 5 AND lower 5, not just one or the other. Eg. if you see a pyramid that increases by 3, then 1, then 2, it WILL decrement by one jump each of 1, 2, and 3, depending on when the emf reader can’t detect the interaction anymore
56:00 almost every ghost gets faster the longer they have line of sight on you. The exceptions are the fast ghosts, not including jinn, so Raiju, Moroi, Deogen, Thaye, Revenant, and Hantu (maybe one more I can't remember off the top of my head).
Grian and Impulse seem to be trying to up their game a bit... Imp is pushing for advancement to get the good gear, and Grian is pushing for better organization. between the two of them, the group might get their act together. AND as I type this imp gets his first kill... not off to a good start.
My favorite part of this stream was 2:07:16. It looked like you all were playing sardines or something the way you were silently coming in to the same spot one after another.
Honestly I love these Phasmo streams, and it's especially fun watching you guys learn it and start to get real good! Not being as scared means getting more daring about stunts, which is also exciting! Can't wait for Impulse to start juking the ghost through a whole hunt like the pros xD
The amount of bad info Impulse gets from the chat hurts my soul, but I'm so happy they're learning the small details. I don't do horror games, but I'm the vancamper in our playgroup, and I hyperfixated this game so hard that I've memorized most of the wiki. I will admit that the sound sensor method that GIGS are using *is* how we managed to do this challenge. But Grian was right. The man in the van helps so much with this challenge. I do really need to say though... most ghosts speed up with line up sight. That's not something special with one ghost, it's all the normal speed ghosts. And a Yurei. It speeds up based on avg sanity, but it still does line of sight and has the potential to be the fastest ghost in the game.

Impulse, if you read this, I really recommend watching Maggstor. She's pretty good at explaining what she's doing in all of her videos I've seen, and in her video about this challenge, she talked about potential strategies for avoiding the ghost on the prison map.
That Shade run was much easier than y'all thought. Jinns CANNOT HUNT OR EVENT if the fusebox is off or broken so that should have been obvious. Oni wasn't gonna be a thing either because it would have been much more aggressive. Twins wasn't it either based on evidence, and Shades are shy and it wasn't until you were nearer to the door to the room that it started hunting. So there you go.
Love watching you all get better and better at the game and love learning alongside you all! The game is still fun to watch even when you're good at it so don't worry about that. Look forward to more phasmophobia content be it gigs jits or solo ❤

just wanna say thank you for these vods, ive binged nearly all of them, and its actually inspired me to start streaming phasmo myself. Did my first stream of it the other day, and gonna do my first phasmo with friends stream on twitch tomorrow, and its because of these videos I know what Im doing lol. I love these vods and always look forward to them!
This was one of the best phasmo streams yet, in my opinion, anyway. The only thing I'd say is at times it was a little reliant on chat, but it's fun for chat to feel like they are contributing to the game.
the magnum ice cream is more like a cross between a dove bar and a klondike, but comes in cups, bars, or stick best I can tell from their site. BUT unlike our noverly icecreams, they use premium ingredients... more like hagendaz or similar premium brands.
Impulse, that last game you were up against a Banshee that was fixated on Skizz. From what I've read, if you are not the fixation of a Banshee, you can walk through her in a hunt and she won't touch you. She will keep going for the fixation. She saw you in the basement, saw that you weren't Skizz and kept looking for him.

This weekly challenge is way harder than it should be! Insym made a great video on it for details since a lot has changed from the first time it rolled around, but I was determined too and spent hours in public phas servers and got that juicy 5k! Very proud of myself

In my honest opinion, phasmo is the greatest to watch when ppl are total newbies, and also when they’re taking it seriously and are getting good at it. Especially when the pros are teaching the newbies, I think is fun. Don’t love watching when the game is played over and over by someone but they aren’t improving much or attempting to improve, only play to get scared and only using the evidence to figure the ghost out. Aka I think it’s so fun watching you guys take it seriously and learning the game properly. No evidence runs are some of the most fun to watch imo, and you technically did do a couple of those.
Just realizing and re-watching this. If one and all of them didnt drink the sanity meds. The hunt started fast. So maybe grian is right. It actually gives some certain seconds for it not to hunt. Those sanity meds are actually there for a reason. So hopefully for the next challenge is that everyone takes one sanity meds to have some kind of seconds to survive before the hunt starts. (If you think about it 13 willow had no meds and normal speed? And this one had the sanity meds but with 125%. Not to sure if the devs did intend to do something like that. But it would be pretty neat to use all items.)
The dreamcast was above it’s time but the jaguar was way above it’s time. Plus the jaguar always showed itself with the full qwerty keyboard which was an upgraded add-on.
Grian and Scar have the same friend dynamic as Imp and Skizz, and it’s amazing to watch.

Oni wasn't gonna be a thing either because it would have been much more aggressive. Twins wasn't it either based on evidence, and Shades are shy and it wasn't until you were nearer to the door to the room that it started hunting. So there you go.

This was one of the best phasmo streams yet, in my opinion, anyway. The only thing I'd say is at times it was a little reliant on chat, but it's fun for chat to feel like they are contributing to the game.

the magnum ice cream is more like a cross between a dove bar and a klondike, but comes in cups, bars, or stick best I can tell from their site. BUT unlike our noverly icecreams, they use premium ingredients... more like hagendaz or similar premium brands.

Impulse, that last game you were up against a Banshee that was fixated on Skizz. From what I've read, if you are not the fixation of a Banshee, you can walk through her in a hunt and she won't touch you. She will keep going for the fixation. She saw you in the basement, saw that you weren't Skizz and kept looking for him.

This weekly challenge is way harder than it should be! Insym made a great video on it for details since a lot has changed from the first time it rolled around, but I was determined too and spent hours in public phas servers and got that juicy 5k! Very proud of myself

Heads up if u do this challenge again the sanity juice causes the ghost to haunt for the duration of you have the sanity gained for it and won't stop till the team is at 0 again normally.
In my honest opinion, phasmo is the greatest to watch when ppl are total newbies, and also when they’re taking it seriously and are getting good at it. Especially when the pros are teaching the newbies, I think is fun. Don’t love watching when the game is played over and over by someone but they aren’t improving much or attempting to improve, only play to get scared and only using the evidence to figure the ghost out. Aka I think it’s so fun watching you guys take it seriously and learning the game properly. No evidence runs are some of the most fun to watch imo, and you technically did do a couple of those.

Just realizing and re-watching this. If one and all of them didnt drink the sanity meds. The hunt started fast. So maybe grian is right. It actually gives some certain seconds for it not to hunt. Those sanity meds are actually there for a reason.
So hopefully for the next challenge is that everyone takes one sanity meds to have some kind of seconds to survive before the hunt starts.
(If you think about it 13 willow had no meds and normal speed? And this one had the sanity meds but with 125%. Not to sure if the devs did intend to do something like that. But it would be pretty neat to use all items.)

an easy way to see if the ghost wrote in the book in low lighting is to see if the pencil is gone. if so, better check off ghost writing
