The first and last racing track in the Wipeout series. So iconic. I have been a fan since 1996. This track was the first time I played playstation and was totally blown away 🔥 and the soundtrack!? I make music of my own because of it

The amout of rubber banding on the a+ races is just mental.
If you get an autopilot the game will accelerate you to mach 1, so these races are not really that balanced :D

Your choice in music from the first game's soundtrack for this video is rather appropriate given that this course is the very first racetrack from the very first game.

It is the same track. Take out the skill cuts and the layout is nearly identical

Just started playing Wipeout Omega Collection because of your content! Loving the game!
I just started playing Wipeout this weekend. The 2048 race tracks seem so much harder than the ones in HD because of all the skill cuts :D
I initially started with the 2048 campain but then switched over to HD and did much better, although I trained in speed lap mode on the tracks like the beginner tutorial recommends.
It'll probably take a while till I can do challenges...

David R I'm normally use pir-hana in almost all my A+ race's , not on rockway...i use ag systems
Speed_MAX-1 I usually use Pir Hana agility

How you don't immediately slam into a wall every time you turn is beyond me 😅
Only you could miss speed pads, have a late start, and still end up in first before a third of the first lap is over

technically it's a Vita game, a PS3 game, and a DLC for a PS3 game all ported over to the PS4 and given a good bit of polish. Good to know you like it though :D
only small stuff was added like the new tigron and van uber ships and a few HUD themes from Wip3out and WipEout 2097, and the rest its basicly in 4k, 60FPS.

This is a top 5 game in two console generations. I'm horrible at this game and I've been playing since the beginning. Still never gets old

this is honestly the first time i ever saw ai opponent perform a barrel rolll.
looks to me like Altima would be a particularly good track for newcomers to practice getting into the habit of barrel rolling, I mean, you look like your rate of absorbing weapons was only just keeping up with how much is expended getting roll boosts...
not sure if you revisited HD/Fury in the collection and got the pre-order, but did you happen to give the Van-uber normal and Fury ships a whirl?

Hey man! I have always loved keeping up with your content on UA-cam and Wipeout Zone. I recently got Wipeout 3 Special Edition running on my computer- and I found a really awesome game with the distinct Retro feeling of the first 3 games. It's called BallisticNG you should give it a shot!!
while there are a few more things to think about when racing in the A+ challenges the 2 things I think make a major difference is knowing when to use or absorb power ups and when to use the airbrakes and lateral thrusters.
Weapon absorbtion seems pretty straight foward, absorb everything that isnt turbo at all times
+MayanExpression I'm not on Hellfirez level so I'll often use quake when I'm lagging behind or leech beam when I can. Not to mention autopilot which I know is seen as taboo but my god is it a lifesaver sometimes
Ben Knight true words right there. Am I the only one who thinks that auto pilot ranks up the stats of your craft? It seems to be faster all of a sudden when I activate it. And when you drive into a sharp corner and activate auto pilot exactly in that moment, then it looks like the ship is doing a massive side shift xD

Messij was in the first WipEout, not 2097.
Sega Saturn/PC version of 2097 had Messij in the tracklist.

Try Redout.
Redout's more F-Zero than WipE'out".
Try Formula Fusion if you're interested in a more WipE'out" style experience.
Formula Fusion sucks butts, Redout is interesting beacuse it has elements of both Wipeout and Fzero. It's got the floaty anti grav-ness of wipeout with controls similar to Fzero.
Nobody asked for your opinion so I'll just disregard it, I've played both games and like both games, but if you want a WipE'out" style game then you'll get it in Formula Fusion more than you will in Redout.
Another good run, you should try using Auricom/Piranha Speeds. gives a goood challenge. I love playing with the Wipeout Fusion soundtrack as it suits 2048s more primitive design.

it’s really weird how sometimes the AI would close the 6 second gap to 4 secs in a single sector, then fall back to 6 seconds in the next. how could this be? is the AI using hax?
Pretty much, there's very aggressive rubberbanding on the AI at A+ class
