1: The Atmega32u4 is the same as the Arduino Leonardo. It can handle its own USB comms. The default Leonardo bootloader is recognized as a serial com port and a USB HID, and has libraries for basic mouse and keyboard inputs. 2: I think HB is run by a wife and husband in Florida. I don't think it's their day job, and I'm under the impression that there's a very small number of subscribers. They need more business to improve their quality. 3: You should come share your thoughts on the subreddit. HB is really lacking a community center right now.
I guess I wasn't aware of that. I will have to see if there is anyway I can help. I own a small business and I know how hard it can be to get by right now. Thanks for the heads up!
I have to agree with your comments, this will be the first box I get as I just subscribed. Not sure I will continue at $70.00 Canadian, I would rather see a controller and a bunch of components with the ability to learn and create some sort of project. In the last month box I was disappointed to see the OBD2 reader. The original few boxes were exactly what I was looking for, now I may need to find something else. Will give it a few months however and see how it goes.
There was stuff I would have used in this box. I canceled after I didn't even open 2 boxes in a row because of not really being interested in what was in them. So for me I feel its a hit or miss type thing and you get stuck taking the bad with the good.

I will be honest. I haven't used anything from the hackerboxes on a project yet.

I feel the same way. I am going to start looking at the boxes with a more detailed eye towards value in cost and usefulness.
