You know, given what spyro 3 revealed that Dragons basically generate magic hence when they got banished from the Forgotten Realms, everything magic went away. I can imagine Magic Crafters not only make magical stuff for the other realms but also research magical related topics with it. Dream Weavers do as you describe, imprison nightmares, but i also imagine they give dragons inspiration in their dreams, which help Artisans, magic crafters and the beastmakers with designing new things. Speaking of Beastmakers, i can see them not just making the fodder animals you kill to feed Sparx, but also make monsters for the other realms to do what they wanna do with them. Like the armored spiders in magic crafters, or especially peacekeepers, as they can use the more aggressive monsters as training to keep order in the realms, both acting as guards and warriors and going to the other realms to perform guard duty.
Hipe you do a vid about the realms in 2 and 3, especially 3 given dragons used to live in the Forgotten realms with the natives of those worlds.
Shepherds may be in charge of keeping the sheep population stable. If you look at Stone Hill, it's not only a wonderful place in general, but also very cozy and enclosed. I personally think that this safe space would be a perfect place for raising young dragonlings, like an open air nursery. In this hypothetical arrangement, the shepherds we see could be those put upon souls usually in charge of keeping a stable supply of sheep, which means keeping any energetic and foolish lizards all hyped up on their own fire from accidentally eradicating the whole flock for fun. So my theory here is that these dudes don't hate dragons, they hate Spyro specifically, because bro has been pestering them for years and making their jobs difficult. Think about this first game's characterization of Spyro, and just try to tell me you wouldn't resort to preventative violence eventually xD
Bonus round! While I'm here, I wanna toss out my theory on the history of the Dragon Realms, and indeed, the entire world. First, from the way the first game's modern day dragon realms seem to work, and the comments about the dragon presence in the history of the Forgotten Realms, it seems clear to me that dragons emit magic, which fills up the world around them, purely naturally. I think that once, long ago, dragons had a golden age where there were so many, and their magics were so damn strong, they effectively destabilized reality. Time and space blurred at the edges and started to drift, ideas began to pop into existence without explanation, some things would turn into other things, the universe was pretty much an imaginative wonderland.
Being the source of this world shaping magic, as well as capable of flight, the dragons were some of the only ones capable of traversing the ethereal void of potential that now separated what solid pieces of reality remained. That's all well and good, but going out there was kind of like a more whimsical version of the Backrooms, lots and lots of random generation with little purpose. So the dragons of old created the portals, enabling them to directly link areas that they liked together, saving time and navigation troubles. Overtime, the network of portals tied to central hubs that we all know took shape.
The golden age of dragons eventually came to an end, and reality began to chill out as they did. Those dragons still around, however, chose to remain in a kind of passive administrating position for the world. Using the magic they remained the masters of, they oversaw not kingdoms and logistics, but the secret inner mechanisms of fantasy itself. The Peace Keepers kept the lore and philosophies of conflict, the fire within that drives so many adventures, starts and ends so many stories. The Magic Crafters did what it said on the tin, creating and maintaining both magical objects, and perhaps the schools by which magic could be learned and practiced by other peoples. The Beast Makers posted up on the fertile banks of a great bog from which life was always overflowing, guiding the wild energies to create things that might enrich the diversity of nature. And the Dream Weavers, those of that order retained the greatest share of the reality-bending magics of the old days, and used it to influence the very canvas of the subliminal mind, making sure that there would be a kindly order to the dreams and nightmares of the collective unconsciousness.
The Artisans, meanwhile, would serve a slightly different purpose, attending to the more mundane needs of a culture. They would produce things for Dragonkind alone to enjoy, art and food and finery. They would also offer a gentle place for the others to come back to and rest when they need it, carefully tailoring a wide range of idyllic realms to vacation in. And already being so lovely and safe, why not raise the young there, too? And so the Dragon Realms of today took shape, four strong prongs working their feats for a greater world, connected by their beautiful green heart. It's a nice picture, wouldn't you say?
I like the theory that all the girl dragons were just on a vacation :P
I enjoyed this more than I expected. You deserve more views man 😊
I really love this video! Please keep doing this series, you have a new subscriber!
Thank you so much! You have no idea how much I appreciate that. And absolutely, this video is part of a larger series about games that just made us think. We have a bunch of other videos in the queue but Spyro 2 and 3 are on the list as well! Stay tuned and thank you so much for subscribing. -SJ
Loved the video, idk why but this is something I've always wondered about. You should do the worlds of Spyro 2 and 3 next! Those would be interesting
Thank you so much, man! Right!? I guess the absurdity of it didn't hit me until my thirties but 🤷♂yep, we have a bunch of other videos in the production queue right now but we will be getting around to Ripto's Rage and Year of the Dragon in 2024 - fun fact, I literally just Googled it and 2024 is a year of the dragon in the Chinese zodiac. *foreshadowing* -SJ
I like this video a lot.
Hey, thank you so much! Stay tuned, there's a lot more coming 🤙

On the Subject of Female Dragons, especially when we Cross Reference the original Trilogy with the Future games.
They Simply Never Thought that Far into it. As this is a Game for kids.
But, if you want my thoughts on it. Female Dragons do exist. They sadly are a rarity in Spyro’s World, but the importance and impact they serve at providing future Eggs cannot be understated, thus their isolation and secretive nature is what helps maintain the Dragon species. It’s only when new Dragon hatchlings are born when they send fairy messengers to come and claim the new hatchling, to maintain the secret of their isolated location.
Those are my thoughts on the original trilogy in relation to Female Dragons.
Pretty sure the gnorks are naitive to the lands of the first game givin the 3rd game says the dragons were from the forgotten lands.
Gnasty made the gnorks from gems, I believe. That's why they drop gems when killed. Which raises the question of who made Gnasty.
Duuuuude, that's an incredible take! I love that so much. That would explain why Gnasty is so butthurt - he's just trying to take his home back. That definitely takes some fuel out of my I-hate-the-Beast-Makers-fire, but I love it. Well done👏
