Nice vid. I bought the x159 but the quality of the pen is not as high as it could be. One of mine fell apart in less than a year. It’s pretty cheap so it’s easy enough to replace. Don’t get me wrong, I like the X159 but in my opinion it has been superseded by the Wing Sung 630. This pen is a much closer clone of the Montblanc 149. It is truly phenomenal. It has the number 8 nib (in steel and 14kt gold options), is a metal piston filler and has a higher quality plastic than the X159. When I hold both pens in my hands and close my eyes I can’t tell the difference between the Wing Sung 630 and my Montblanc 149. It’s that good. I rarely use my x159 now. I’d recommend trying the 630 if you haven’t had the chance. It’s replaced my Montblanc 149 as my daily writer and I don’t have to be concerned about losing it when I take it out of the house.

Maybe Parker is panting because it's so hot (for y'all. Here in the sunny south it's close to 90. We are hot.) Turn on the noisy ac unit, Kittymom, and give the poor furbaby some relief. Cat's cannot sweat, so they pant. Also, the x159 is currently selling for around $10 US. Life is short. Buy pens! Be happy.

Good morning, girl! I live in the tropics. When the heat gets unbearable, jump in the shower, several times a day if necessary.

  • @AMusset

Hello, thanks for the video! You pronounce « Montblanc » almost perfectly, do not pronounce the « c » at the end, at all!

  • @MissMarilynDarling

I got a wingsung 630 which the " cheaper version " of the montblanc 149 with the piston and they had option for flat tops so I got flat tops and they had color options so I went with tranlucent red and opaque cap and I love this pen its so nice its like one of the nicest writing pens I have and the ink capacity OMG its so big ... not to mention that all the parts are interchangable with a montblanc 149 so ... and also I have a Majohn p136 which is the knock off version of the montblanc 146 which is the shorter piston version and also has interchangable parts so there is no good reason, unless you are talking about flex thats a whole separate thing, that anyone should be spending crazy amounts of money on products that do the same exact thing as the more expensive but hey if you have money to blow I 100% agree that you should choose the name brand because 1 they usually come with a lifetime warentee 1000 dollars worth and they have excellent customer care teams where Majohn jinhao do not ;/

Just a note for anyone who may have tried this pen when it first came out and had problems. The first few batches were horrible. There was a re-design and I believe that the nib units aren't even interchangeable between the two versions. This and the Jinhao 2019 are two of my favorite pens. The 2019 is supposedly "inspired by" the Namiki Emperor and has a humongous converter. I don't know if anyone else even makes one that big. It is a bit fatter than the X159. You can't go wrong with either one. Those #8 nibs are awesome.

I think you hit the nail right on the head. I have a Montblanc 149, but I much prefer my Wing Sung 630 with a gold nib. Still, I use an x159 or a 9019 more often than the other two.

  • @andrewdaydreamer5209

If the cap unscrewed in 1 turn this would have been my EDC pen. But unfortunately it takes way too many for me.

  • @barryporter6993

we need a fountain pen that has a small personal fan on the top :):):)

  • @BEYSeamaster1

I have many pens. Maybe 100. The X159 is one of my top 3 pens. The other 2 cost between 60 and 70 times more than the 159. This is how good this pen is.

  • @managingmarlys

Great video. Such a good mommy, not wanting to stress Parker out. Continuing to get better, I hope!

  • @user-id5db8ce1y

Enjoyed your initial video on the x159 and enjoyed this one too. Glad your experience is a positive one! I did buy the pen at your recommendation, but haven't inked it, sworn off all things China.

  • @christopherkelly9153

BTW: if you haven’t tried SBRE Brown’s brown ink you need to get your hands on some. Best brown in ever.

How funny is this, I JUST watched the first video for the first time this week lol. I freaked out a little bit when I saw this one pop up on my for you page lol

  • @periwinkletree

I bought my X159 because of your video and I don't regret it, it writes perfectly. I even purchased the extra fine and it's completely smooth. At the time, I paid about $15(US). I don't use it as much because of its girth and I have smaller hands. And yes, I get the grip moods. I've noticed I'm having trouble with my preferred extra fine nibs, after reading the news in the morning, as we're in the midst of the American election cycle. I've been having to switch to slightly larger and stronger nibs, otherwise I might as well be writing with an exacto.

  • @haroldmarenger3435

Thank you for the follow up video. I have MB 149 and it writes very smoothly with no hard starts, skipping, etc.-and for the price it had better be an excellent pen! I have large hands so the size works well for me (my fingers do not cramp up in long writing sessions, as sometimes happens with thinner pens), and it holds a fair amount of ink. I also have a few X159s that I thought I’d try out-for $12 each, not a big loss if it didn’t work out. Overall, the X159 writes okay for the price and the size fits in my hand well. I do have to say that the X159s haven’t held up over time, but are cheap enough that it doesn’t matter-I just replace it with another. I do take my X159 to work if I’m going to be in a sketchy place, where I may not want to break out the MB 149. Thanks again. Break time! Go for a cold brew coffee to beat the heat!

A video on WAX SEALS? Got to go see that one NOW!!

  • @paulmchugh1430

Glad you have the X159. It is a great pen. It is affordable. The larger pen does lessen the need for a "death grip" which caused me to actually dent a sterling silver Parker Jotter years ago.
