I did some heavy yardwork earlier in the day. Didn't realize how beat up my arm was until I sat down to edit this. It is fine...I will survive.
Glad you're okay. I was worried for a minute there.
Thanks, you knew we'd be worried about you 😊
I thought you tangled with a porcupine or something! Take care of yourself!
Thank heavens you are OK. People around the world were worried!
It is really nice to hear about a pen that comes from someone new. It looks really nice. The attention to detail looks spot on. I like the hooded design of the nib. I have some issues with my hand sliding up to the nib with the pens I have. That hood would help prevent that. I have converted more than half of my pens to eye dropper. Thank you for letting me know about him.
That’s an interesting pen. I am sorry IG is the only way to get notified about availability. I have no desire to get involved with that level of social media, especially since the privacy issues loom so large. But I do like the look of the pen, except for the cap.
Thank you for another informative review.
The shape reminds me of a lava lamp.
I love that it takes the giant converter! And if you use it as an eyedropper, the hooded nib won't be a fuss either.
The cap with o-rings is so uniq, I can't think of another pen like that.
From what I hear, it's really hard to get your hands on one of these. My daughter has one, and she had to stalk his site to get it, but she's very happy with it.
It's worth the effort.
@@FigbootonPensthank you for showing me this guy. I'll be stalking his site too!
The pens on his site are freakin' GORGEOUS. Currently, he's got a whole lotta nuthin'. I think your video slashdotted the poor guy's inventory! I did look through his blanks, and there are some scrumptious designs in there. The Lightside/Darkside pair is beautiful, and there's a white that glows green in the dark, and another that glows blue. A little gimmicky, but pretty.
I'll probably subscribe to his newsletter, since I don't do Instagram. It'll likely be a while, probably after the holidays, before he's anything but cleaned out right now.
His stuff sells out SO FAST!! I managed to finally get one second hand but it took me forever!
As as engineer, I LOVE seeing signs of turbulence in these pens. ✌😁
I like that you're showcasing some of the new makers in our weird little space!
One point--this is absolutely not a hooded nib. It's a standard nib with a deep insert into the section. I see this as a design flaw--not the worst flaw out there but a flaw nonetheless.
Aside from that, i really like the pen and the willingness to try new design features!
I’ve been following them on IG for a while, really beautiful pen body designs!
I like the pen, just not the very small cap that doesn't post. But thank you for promoting another small, artisan pen maker.
Looks very interesting design. Gives the feel of hooded nib.
Good video. Thanks for sharing.
That is a really unique and pretty pen.
Looks like you could pipette ink into that hooded cup, then suck it into the converter. Or use something like the Pineider pen filler.
I wish this pen came in a version where the whole pen was the same tinted blue as the cap. It’s too colorful for my tastes, as is nearly every new pen lately. I haven’t bought a new pen in over two years.
I did know about them before this video. Ive only seen their pens a couple of times, but if someone shares a picture of a 0en this unique, of course you're going to ask where they got it!
Neat pen! The shape reminds me of those soda bottles with the marble in them. Not entirely sure about the lamp-shade end of the section or the tiny cap but I like the idea of the heterogenous section and barrel materials. Shame about the weasels that tore your flesh. Condolences.
Small unpostable cap = easily lost.
Van Dieman’s makes an ink called Blue Ringed Octopus too. Not turquoise but a very interesting ink
I appreciate people who try unique and innovative approaches to making pens. This is certainly one of them.
As to whether it would be a pen I would purchase, I would have to think about it. The small cap is a great idea. The gaps on the pen, well not so much. The semi hooded nib design is novel but using it in an Iroshizuku bottle would be a problem. I would probably eyedropper the pen, though the increased capacity of the TWSBI converter is something I would appreciate. I wish Sailor would come up with this for their King of Pen.
Great review, David.
No, I think the manufacturer tried too hard to be different. I do like the look of, but the small cap will be easy to lose, and the filling system is a bother. But I thought the orange pen shown was striking.
Small cap and not postable, that’s already a non-starter for me. Moreover, while I do like new and original designs, I don’t care about a hooded end that obstructs half of the nib.
There's no pens on his site!!
