Danny Fairbrass & Luke Vallory | Winter Pop Up Fishing | Korda Mindset
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 лис 2024
- Danny Fairbrass joins carp catching machine Luke Vallory, for an in-depth discussion on winter pop-up fishing, with a particular focus on spinner rigs.
Luke is one of Korda Mindset's most consistent members, catching some of the country's most sought after carp, many falling to his simple spinner rig set up.
Danny delves into the technical side of Luke's angling, finding out exactly how and why he sets his rigs up the way he does.
A fascinating insight into one of the country's leading anglers, this is a technical masterclass that's not to be missed.

Need more videos like this getting different anglers views on rigs etc really enjoyed
Glad you enjoyed Kurt.
Had the pleasure of fishing alongside luke at sandhurst lake, his attention to detail and accuracy is impeccable. Top guy!👍🏼
Chuffed
Went onto the spinner with a long length of ntrap soft last summer on lead clips with heavy leads and had a great summer and autumn on it with great hook holds. Great rig!
More of these type of films please.
I start to use pop-up in 2016 before by 15-16 years don’t use it … 😁 what I like especially is positioning/reset and presenting -> 99% sure that is fishing 💪 Use it with ronnie on fluorocarbon with big hook as well and 2021 Nov 47lb, 2022 Nov 50lb 😁 regards from Poland 🇵🇱👍
Love this style of video for a self taught angler like myself it gives me so much informative and knowledge I can then use in my own fishing 🎣
Quality video , new to fishing and will be my first winter so this really helps , thanks gents
Quality vid, loads of insight into his fishing brain. Loved it. Hes an awesome angler him like
Brilliant videos every time , and I love the presentation of these rigs ,defo Gona try these out.
Thanks Lee, glad you enjoyed it mate.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Thankyou
Love lake 8 at the woolpack, mostly 20’s and the odd 30 when I fished there. Interesting video…thanks chaps!
Glad you enjoyed Martin.
Love this video team 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks guys - top stuff. Really similar to my own tactics, but took away a couple of things I want to try (besides zig fishing 😂). In particular, you convinced me to give the old lead clip another chance this season. Let the shopping commence 😉
DF on a Sunday evening don't mind if I do 🔥🔥🔥
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 proper sausage u . Up to your nuts in Korda guts.
Good stuff👌
Very informative and enjoyable 👌
Glad you enjoyed John.
Great video, guys! Just a quick tip: a list with all components of each rig would be great in the description field ;). Or a link to landingpage to a webshop would be great
Sunday sorted!
Great video learnt loads from this. 👍🏻👍🏻
Would like to see Danny doning his Session victims like olld days, maybe now as Mindset videos
Brilliant, something to look forward to on the Sunday
That zig episode sounds good... 🐛
Filmed and coming soon! 👀
Another quality video! QQ, when casting out, if you don’t hit the spot you want to hit, is it a good idea to real back in and try again even a few times until you’re hookbait is in the spot you want? Or should I leave well enough alone if my first cast is close enough (so I don’t spook the fish too much with too many casts)?
Thanks a lot. Joe (big fan from the US)
Good interview
so where do you draw the line at overthinking these things? how much of this actually matters?
the last korda video showed dan getting done over multiple times & he has everything he needs at his fingertips to catch those carp for the camera & it took days to catch one. despite all of his experience, all of his resources, the carp are still picking up & spitting out his bait with a conversion rate of 33%.
How does choosing the color of rig tubing increase catch rates?
(should point out that I think it's fun to talk about rigs, however I'm not sure how much of a difference rigs make when you get everything else right)
I think finding a spot where you’re able to film, fitting a camera, then enticing carp to feed there during the day, then catching one in crystal clear water with an alien camera on the spot, casting after first light ect. Hell of an achievement. If he’d fished that spot for a few nights with no camera, he’d probably had a fair few bites. The under water still makes angling harder, not easier
totally get that Jake & agree with you completely. great angling & I am extremely greatful that Korda put these films out. (1000 apologies to anyone at Korda if they thought I was trolling - it was more of a rhetorical question).
I think Dan's understanding of rig mechanics is amazing & he's one of the best, but even when he's at his best, it's a 1 in 3 conversion rate. Even Dovey laughs at him when he says he'll catch on the first pickup. If that is the case then are we sweating the small stuff too much & concentrating on whatever is needed to make it a 1 in 1 conversion?
It came out at 47lb 12oz to my cousin Matthew window after learning some secret tips on our social on the bank at acorn fishery! From yours truly😉
Great video. But had a question about zigs. I fish a 60 acres gravel pit with depths up to 45ft. How do I know what depth to put my zigs? It's a days only lake so not a lot of time to find out what depth the fish hold up. Thank you in advance.
Impossible to say mate it will vary day to day. As a starting point I usually start off in the upper layers. The quickest way to find them will be to fish one rod from the bottom to surface moving it up a ft or 2 at a time and fish another rod from the surface to the lake bed until they meet in the middle so to speak in theory it will half the time finding what depth their at.good luck and Tight lines pal👍
@@chocstar.007 thanks mate
I'd loved to see a video on a lake like bluebell lakes kingfisher on how to approach a hard day ticket
I’m pretty certain they did a masterclass on kingfisher a few years back mate
Nice to see danny on the bank
I could have sworn I heard Danny say “fat” end first when putting the bead on on a video a year or so back, 🤣 great video though thanks a lot
I need help can you please help me with the bait and rigs to get a big carp I need your help
That was ok......That sentence sums up why some anglers catch a lot more carp than joe blogs.
Love it😊
Why do people say that lead clips are more effective hooking setup? Wouldn't sliding the beads on a heli create exactly the same effect?
Hello! I live in Germany and I fish on a lake with 20-40cm silt, here the carp are between 6 and 14 pounds, I didn't manage to catch on popup's only on hard corn. Can you please give me an idea of a rig, I only fish with helicopter because of the silt. Or any ideas. Thank you! ✌️
Il faut mettre de l'huile de heron sur les appâts
@@joeldetree5894 l'huile de heron?
Love the Korda videos but come on lads it’s just a Ronnie rig we seen this a million times 😂 ones with a stiff boom one ain’t ones on a lead clip ones on a helicopter set up job done 🙈
what fluorocarbon/mono is he using/krimping?
What if you turn up to a lake that doesn't allow spinner rigs? Is there a close alternative?
Alot round my area don't allow hooks to swivels.
In this case, Luke would opt for a combo-multi rig, using a size 4 Kamakura Choddy. This rig still allows your bait to be popped up, yet remaining close to the lakebed.
Anyone notice Luke wearing what looks like a cooks apron ?
14.03 seconds
Yes. It was his turn to cook Breakfast.
Haha ! Waders but we see what you mean 🤣

Can i ask what pop ups was he using. Mega buoyant,???
Shame not longer but 🎣🐟👌
