I love meatballs, tanks for adding to my repertoire! I’ll try the egg carton trick. I add dry quick cooking oats along with bread crumbs, thickens up the sauce. Recipes for meatloaf is like a big meatball, Italian, Mexican chili, and Swedish, oh and mushroom soup with dried mushroom! Mmm, getting hungry!

The Italian meatball hoagie is one of my best. I like to layer it with mozzarella cheese. The Swedish meatballs looked so creamy and delicious it was out of this world. A rounded ice cube tray may also work well to form the balls.

Tried the egg carton method and loved it!! I have used the scoop method in the past. Or just pinching off wads of meat and rolling them up. The egg carton was superior. The oven method of cooking is better than pan frying. Usually I add broth to the pan before putting in the oven. The meat cooks quickly and evenly. If you need them to be brown you can brown them in butter or oil on top of,the stove after cooking in the oven.

You can also use an Ice Cube Tray. Especially nice if you can find the rounded ones! Another way is to flatten the Meatball Mixture into a square shape. Then use a Pizza Cutter and cut in half, down the center. Then across center. then continue until you have the even portions of the size you want. You can also make Ground Turkey Meatballs and serve it with Gravy, stuffing, mash pots and cranberry sauce. Or- make Ground Chicken Meatballs, bread them and fry them like nuggets. Mix and match seasonings, sauces and create your own meal. The World is your Meatball!

The egg carton hack is cool if you have to make a lot of meatballs. I just use an ice cream scoop to make them all uniform. If I want smaller meatballs, I use a cookie scoop. I do make large batches to freeze into individual servings for quick, easy meals.
I like to make meatballs with 3 meats: beef, lamb, and pork, which is quite flavorful. Last time I didn't have access to the lamb, so I subbed with ground turkey, and when I soaked the bread crumbs in milk, I forgot to drain it. OMG, it was the bomb! So tender.

    Lover of meatballs here
I use the ice cream scoop method and slow cook them in my choice of home made sauce until they are very tender.
My faves are Swedish meatballs in a white creamy sauce.
    Great vid as always

I can’t surprise you with any cool meatball method- you are the master! I do bake mine vs fry pan. Less mess. I love that egg carton, pure genius! I mix mine meat on the counter by making a hole/well and put all my ingredients inside then mix. 😊

I enjoy watching your videos, you sure do make a variety of recipes look simple and creative. The Swedish meatballs are similar to how my mom makes ours/family traditionally, and we are from Netherlands. I love the oven/cooling rack idea, especially for homemade meatball vegetable soup. For larger, I think I will give the egg carton method a try.
    thank you!

It's always interesting to see the similarities and variations in traditional recipes across different countries. The oven/cooling rack method can indeed be handy for various dishes, including homemade meatball vegetable soup. And the egg carton method is a great way to form larger meatballs. I hope you have fun trying out these techniques and enjoy the delicious results. Happy cooking!

Alex you've done it again! Great idea with the egg carton, I'm saving mine. I also did what you did but, I cut mine instead of using a rack to mark. These are on the menu tomorrow. Peace, love and God be with you and yours.

I have to say..I LOVE EVERYTHING YOU DO!!! I use to work with Chef Tarantino cooking..the program with entitled Get Inspired..using generic products and making a DELICIOUS meal..less expensive..i learned how to cook a " cut" above the rest, so to speak. The recipes were created in the Test Kitchen..i loved my year of cooking and supervision of other cooks in all the Shaw's stores throughout VT..Suray Promotions with Chef Tarantino teamed up and voila. Your style is right up my alley ❤
