Dude’s almost 60 and still ripping, btw. And try hitting the lip with your front leg fully extended and locked at the knee like this. It’s ridiculously hard to pull down.
Yep, some people fail to see why his technique is so good, these people watch him and say: i can do that, nothing special, no airs or whatsoever" but it's the subtle X factor of his style which is how he maneuvers and links stuff together that shows his brilliance.
I grew up in Santa Barbara, first time I I saw Tommy at Hammond’s he was probably 12 and fucking ripped!! I can see the style he had then every time I see a video of him.
Fundamentals of rail surfing and keeping your speed with style is fading fast. It's all 5'7 s chop hopping and waiting for the end section when 4 parts of the wave had potential for speed turns. People , try n Get back to what surfing is . Speed flow style.
