Add fresh dill.. to the caper onion topping. If u can find/grow sweet onion instead of red onion it's amazing. The..**everything bagel*** seasoning sprinkled on the cream cheese is another option. European dark rye (portofino bakery in stores all over) also amazing. Been eating lox for 4 days that I got from finest at sea in victoria. Lastly, I made dip with green onion and lea and perrins, mayo, cream cheese. Also incredible. Great video

Awesome video. I was watching another video where they measured everything to the gram. This is much easier!

I absolutely LOVE smoked salmon. I could eat it for every single meal. Every birthday, holiday, etc my husband doesn’t bring me home flowers, he brings me home sliced lox from my favorite store. On the last cruise I was on, they had it at the breakfast buffet. My eyes lit up! I loaded my plate up each day. I never made it before but I’m thinking of doing it to save money!

That's awesome. We love it, too.
You should try it. So easy, will taste even better, and you'll save a ton of money.

I've always done raw salmon this way. salmon fillet with skin. top with a pinch of lemon pepper. top with plenty of sea salt. dill on top of the salt. to the fridge. the next day, taste by cutting a small slice crosswise from the tail. if the salinity is suitable. scrape off the spices with a knife. if you want more saltiness. let it stand for so long with the spices that the salt is suitable.... cut into thin slices.

Can I use my vacuum sealer instead of the saran wrap?

Great share. I haven't heard of lox before. Is it common there?

It’s cheaper to do it at home, I buy salmon at $12.99 per lb and I like my bagel with lox, red onion, horseradish sauce and hot peppers nothing else $16.00 at my deli

Everybody likes something different I hate dill with a passion, just the smell alone, a lot of people can’t stand coriander, but I use coriander instead, I have chives and skallion up the gazoot, I use those, also garlic, crush black pepper and Japanese hot pepper flakes, I like lots of flavor and heat just last week I cured 10lbs and oh yes vodka, I ate 2 pieces and then the greedy people that live at my house gobbled it all up, each person is gonna do something different
