Hi , just found you on here this morning , i'am with you on the volvo's , back in the day i bought a ec140bl with 1800 hrs , what a hatefull machine , it would wear you out trying to grade with it , electric over oil numb controls , had volvo out to it , was told they had moved on from this model , so much for aftersales service and the c was no better ! also had cat 315d it was not very nice on the levers, i am about retired now but kept an old 2000 model js130 with a exac one tilting hitch , lovely on the levers , no ecu no dpf no add blue , a sweet isuzu engine that sips diesel , have the latest excavators really improved that much ! Lookforward to more videos
Thanks, think newer machines are more user friendly with nicer cabs, also a lot quieter than the older ones. I’ve still got an old Kubota kx161-2 from 1998 its got zero comforts in the cab
@@mditch84 Hi , mich , i say this a bit tong in cheek !!! but bet your 161 is worth as much now as when you bought it and it will still be working when the newer ones have been scrapped because of the error code that was to expenssive to sort !!!
Good to see you keeping busy Mark. I always wondered how mounding was done, after seeing you and others doing lots of it before. Good explanation, must be a tiring day sat on a hill like that all day!
Doosan for forestry I've had a few and never had much trouble with any of them and jcb or case for general purpose work although they are both sumitomo not sure about the x series jcb though

Thanks Ollie, hope it came across ok I felt like I started waffling on😂 it’s not the easiest way to spend a shift sitting on a steep slope.
Another great video fella 😉💙
@@LauraRichardson-e5p thank you wife❤️❤️❤️
Love seeing your vids, The long drive looks familiar stomping ground to me, as do a lot of the areas you cover. Keep up the vids
Thank you, I’m sure people from the Scottish Borders will recognise bits 😂
Another good one mark. 👌
@@csw671 thanks fella
By I done a lot of mounding with a js130 wind roll first and then I mould it 2 acres a day I do
@@JohnBailey-x9j I don’t do much of it
Volvo is best
@@Agge-m2z 👍
Great vids do you prefer the Kobelco to the volvo
@@GrahamScott-pw6xj thank you, definitely the Kobelco
Volvos still a good few leagues above JCB though?🤣
Dont know about that
Everyone’s got different opinions

@@johnmchardy4502I’ve had 2 Doosan 160 high tracks before the Kobelco, a far better machine for mounding with
Volvos not great most uncomfortable and unreliable machine in it especially for forestry work
I think the undercarriage is too short, rocks and nods about too much
