This is a 2013 Infiniti JX35 - A family SUV loaded with so many advanced features for the time period that it makes you wonder if they were targeting the Jetsons’ family with this thing! Today, I borrowed this car here in Allentown Pennsylvania to show you what makes this car a compelling contender in this segment. After that, I will show you some of my favorite features, take it for a drive, and in the end, point out some of the things you should LOOK for if you’re planning on buying one.
The 2013-2020 Infiniti JX35 and QX60 is a seven-passenger luxury crossover SUV that was offered by Infiniti, the luxury division of Nissan. The JX35 was first introduced in 2012 as a 2013 model, and it was sold in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. By the following year, Infiniti changed its name to the QX60 in order to align the vehicle with Infiniti's new naming strategy, which was designed to make it easier for consumers to understand the brand's lineup of vehicles. The new strategy involved using the letter "Q" for all of the brand's cars and SUVs, and the letter "QX" for its SUVs. But don’t worry, they are still the same vehicle.
One of the standout features of the JX35 is its spacious and comfortable interior. The three rows of seats provide ample room for passengers, and the materials used in the cabin are of high quality. The JX35 also comes standard with a wide range of features, including a rearview camera, a navigation system, and a Bose audio system.
The JX35 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 265 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that sends power to the front wheels, unless you opted for the available all-wheel drive system. The powertrain provides a smooth and quiet ride, but the JX35 may not be as sporty as some other luxury SUVs.
The JX35/QX60 also offers a good fuel economy for its class. The front-wheel drive version gets an EPA-estimated 18 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway, while the all-wheel drive version gets 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.
Now, let’s walk around and take a look at the interior where I will show you some of my favorite features. Then, we’ll take it for a spin and show you some of the things you should LOOK for when buying one!

When you buy a house, your best representative is not the realtor it's a home inspector. In a used car car buying experience, it's a good mechanic. Sales is Sales. 😅
I’m looking at one for 11,999$, 86k miles, one owner, 2013. Car fax says it’s a great deal. Would you agree?
If you encounter a QX60, it's advisable to avoid it unless it's being offered for free. The CVT transmission is prone to failure, inevitably leading to costly repairs. Therefore, unless you have an additional $8,000 set aside for unforeseen expenses, it's wise to explore other options for a 7-seater vehicle.

@@Enzo-qk5trall but people neglect the maintenance a cvt needs. CVT’s need a transmission change every 30k miles or once a year.

Don't be scared! However, if you are not comfortable on your automotive skills, then simply get a PPI by a respectable shop. I cannot stress this enough. If you find one that you want to pull the trigger on and you ask the owner if they'll be ok with you getting a PPI and they say no, then you know that's not the one for you!

It really depends on the history of the vehicle, maintenance records, and of course current condition and price. Without seeing the vehicle, it is hard for me to make an official recommendation. Just be sure to do a proper inspection if you are serious about it.
Are the awd jx35 transmissions bad as well? Or is it only the fwd
Yes, internally they are the same with few adaptations for the AWD.

Without seeing the car, it's hard to make a recommendation. Be sure to understand the maintenance records and the history of the vehicle. Also consider that a vehicle approaching 100K miles may also need major service items due at 100K miles.
check service record, if they replaced the transmission recently, you can get atleast 50K trouble free miles on it. otherwise, do not do it!!!

I own this car for almost 7 years now (the car is 8 years old) with almost 90,000 miles. I just got the CVT replaced under the extended transmission warranty (96 months / 94,000 miles) by an Infinity dealer. Paid $0. But the total cost for replacement is almost $6,000.

I will second this comment about the transmission, mine went out around 120k miles...it did cost around 6k to replace.

Great car when it works. The cvt transmission is the worst in this vehicle. It cost so much to get it replaced. Brand new cost can literally purchase another Jx35. The dealer will always find a reason not to fix any of the recalls. I was under the mileage for a transmission replacement but was told that my vehicle was made a month or so before the vehicles covered under the recall. Lol horrible customer service. Don't buy it lots of better 7 seaters out there.
