    The amount of research, experience, intelligence and money that went into this tank is all through the roof. What an amazing accomplishment. Honestly I understand the decision to keep easy fish too, this is - with the dosing, reactors and monitoring - probably less maintenance then my very much less impressive tank. It's a great inspiration for a coral-centred tank! I'd be paranoid as hell though about a crash.

    my dude this is an insane setup, and the video is well made too that I wouldn't expect this quality from a channel with less than 1000 subs, you deserve more~

    Man I love the tank! I do have one suggestion though. The grounding probe. I used one as well until I stumbled across some threads on Reef2Reef. Basically, you should be checking stray voltage with a volt meter of some kind, that way you can pinpoint which piece of equipment is going bad. With a grounding probe you wouldnt be able to tell and could cause more significant issues later.

      It's a lot of effort but it gets easier with time - I talked about that in my last video! I call it "auto pilot" - check it out if you haven't seen it.

      I genuinely kicked the gyre out and don't recall what the mode is called. Pulse mode with ~4 seconds or so.

    Ink bird auto on and off. Thermostat.
    Both my heaters have either lost heat and one failed heating and with my ink bird plugged in it shut it off.! Saving my tank not once BUT TWICE.

    How often do you use rowaphos and why trust over regular GFO? Have you noticed any aluminum increase, and what calculator do you use to know how much to use?

    • @Moonfruit777
      @Moonfruit777  9 місяців тому +1

      To be honest I used the generic GFO as well with great success - I find the cheap stuff works faster but ROWA lasts longer. You should be able to use both with no problems. Aluminium shows up on ICP but i don't think it's bad.
      For the amount I just eyeball it lol. ~150ml maybe?
      Which GFO do you use and how do you use it?

    Whats your feeding schedule? Foods, frequency. Etc. And how many fish do you have in there?

    • @Moonfruit777
      @Moonfruit777  Рік тому +3

      Stay tuned! There's gonna be a video about feeding very soon!
      Actually, there are quite a few fish in there but it always looks so empty because they spread out over the 3 sides - I'd like to add a couple more fish! Do you have any suggestions?

    Broo, you have 0 mechanical filtration and yet you have Cristal clear water! How can you ? Your tank look amazing! It is realy 5 foot? 1.5m? It's looks smaller like a 4 foot.

    • @Moonfruit777
      @Moonfruit777  Рік тому +2

      Yeah I'm just not a fan of filter socks at all! The regular cleaning is just not something I can incorporate into my daily life. I find that dirt just settles in the sump anyways where you can easily siphon it out overy now and then.
      If you would like crystal clear water - got for a UV filter and some carbon!

  • @lordsimpus
    @lordsimpus Рік тому +1

    is there any noise at all from the tank?

    • @Moonfruit777
      @Moonfruit777  Рік тому +2

      During the day you can hear the wavemakers. At night it's silent enough so you can't hear any splashing, dripping, or humming from any of the equipment! I couldn't sleep otherwise lol

    An aquarium in the bedroom is considered bad feng shui, and can be a disruptive influence on this restful space. The yang energy of the water and the swimming fish generate too much yang energy for a restful sleep.

    Nice tank! Although the electricity consumption on that must be astronomical, especially with the air con as well. Far out of reach of most people here in the uk nowadays unfortunately.

    • @Moonfruit777
      @Moonfruit777  Рік тому +1

      Well hobbies are always expensive! The AC is only needed a few weeks a year. I think it costs ~1k a year in electricity... It's my passion so I'll make it work! 🙃

    • @TwoScottishReefers
      @TwoScottishReefers Рік тому

      @Moonfruit777 my reefer 350 which is no where near as big as that is costing me about 2k in electricity so unless you come from a country where electricity is very cheap it must be a heck of a lot more than 1k. My reefer 350 uses 7kwh per day. Fair enough if it's your passion
