Right on ! Thats a great deal.. Your seating / viewing position is very important. Best of luck with getting it all configured. It's a great wheel ! Thanks for watching !
It works on both.. Check the Logitech site. When we reviewed this wheel, we weren't reviewing PS3 games or gear.. Only for PC.. We just reviewed it in our wheel shootout against 4 other wheels.
Watch and listen again.. BTW... THis wheel has drivers for the PC.. Yes it was originally made for GT5 and the PS3, but works as well or better on a PC.
Actually because of Shaun's great review I went looking for a GT today and found one at my local Best Buy for half price since it was an open item. Blows my MOMO away so much I'm taking the MOMO back and keeping this GT at a much lower price than I paid for the other one too.
well.. they are very similar wheels.. You may want to consider something like a fanatec wheel or G25 if you're looking to upgrade. This wheel would be an upgrade to a DFP though.. no question.
here is something interesting that i have found with these wheels and Gran Turismo. If you have a PS2/GT4 and you unplug the pedals then slot in the dual shock 2 into controller port 1, you can have 2 people playing the game, one player controls the steering and the other player controls the acceleration/braking. Makes for some wicked teamwork if you try it!
@favianutube It was developed for both and marketed for the PS3.. Check the Logitech website and see that they have a driver supporting full compatibility on the PC.. Also works great on the PS3
Maybe you should listen more closely to part one of the review.. He says "phuey on me for using a PS3 wheel on the PC". Also if you go back and watch our other shows, we weren't covering console racers (PS3 and XBox) only PC. It also says it right in the title. "review for PC"
just got my G27 a few days love it but as a little side project i rewired the pedals from the G25 to work with my DFGT wow these pedals with this wheel is a killer combination loving em both.
I didn't review it for the PC, but have been using it on GT5. I don't think you can mix and match on the playstation like you can on a PC. I would say that the best pedals for the PS3 would be the ones that go witht he G25. Not sure you can use the DFGT with the G25 pedals though
Thats not an offensive comment.. lol.. Funny how people say things like " I don't mean to offend" but then go ahead and offend.. Thanks for the comment
combine this wheel with a Logitech Wingman Force feedback joystick, FFshifter software, bungee cord pedal mod, and any older wheel's gas pedal as the clutch and you have something like the G25/27
got the wheel today, very happy clamps are great easy to tighten or remove.just need to improve my driving.installation was easy, only draw back for me is the cables but there nice and long....
@hmwillow Geesh.. Some people are so harsh.. Maybe you should listen to his first words of the review in part one "Shame on me for using it on my PC". So what if it was made for GT5.. ..It works grat and is a preffered wheel on the PC.
Defintiely go with the GT ! I've heard the Momos are pretty good.. But.. The GT is pretty awesome for just a little more money.. The pedals are so so .. G25 is the best
Vista has a bug where you need to delete lines in the registry with force feedback. It's not the wheel.. It's the crappy OS that microsoft has put our for us to beta test for them. Google it to find the fix.> I've also posted it in our forums.
@SpyOpz94 i assume you can, because my friend is using a g25 pedals with his g27 (no idea why lol) and about the loudness, it kinda depends on your driving style, if when you drive you often make hard turns, and spin the wheel from side to side very fast, than of course it will be loud, but since this IS a force feedback wheel, there's no way it will be 100% quiet, so i'd say its not that loud, but if you take your volume to medium, you wont hear it.
I appreciate the review. It helped me understand that the brand new one I received is defective. Mine has some play in it that makes driving in a straight line nearly impossible, The force feedback clicks and slips(?) giving an overall horrible feel. Also the brake pedal sticks down. Best thing going for my set is the sequential shifter... since it does work. Logitech QA is not impressing me! I hope the replacement works a bit better.Any comment on durability?
We're comparing it to other wheels out there.. We still rank this wheel high and why bother doing a second video on how it's feel ? We're trying to be thorough
Ahh thanks for clearing that up it just appeared like that in the video. Ill try and research more about the combinations but it would appear your right, you wouldnt happen to know anything about rumors over a new GT wheel coming out with the full GT5 game?
@SpyOpz94 well, it has a really good built quality... i think that the pedals could be better, but they are pretty fine. the shifter is ok, the knob is really high quality. the wheel itself is extremely beautiful! and its quality is very good! so far i played TDU1, TDU2, LFS, GRID and the wheel performed extremely well. i just ordered a modified (add-on) paddle shifters for it off ebay, so, its one of the best wheels ive ever had... overall, for the price, you get more than you pay with it :)
@lucirz Hell Yeah! I was using it to play GT3 and GT4! I couldn't believe how responsive and natural it felt! Now All Sony needs to do is allow you play ps2 games once more in HD :-p
@D2608J he didn't talk of the shifter because is on the pc, the driver think the wheel is a driving force pro without the gear the shift and the + - button
Hey there srt guys, nice videos, very good reviews.. I have a question.. Which wheel will perform better on PS2 (GT4, Enthusia etc.): Logitech Driving Force Pro or Logitech Driving Force GT?
I've seen and liked Fanatec wheels very much. Plus, I want the 3-system support. What undeniably sucks is Fanatec's limited releases of these wheels, either way. I'd go with Logitech because of availability, and well, they're Logitech, but even after GT5 hits I can't be without Forza. :-|
I got one for $68. Now let's hope "reconditioned" doesn't bite me in the butt. I'm planning on getting a Fanatec 911 Turbo S wheel, but in th meantime, this will do.
great review, im gonna buy it!!! xD g27 is not like the g25 since the sequential gear shifter is gone and i do like that option available... and its alot more expensive than the DFGT, so im getting what suits best for my budget, and that works best with my sims/games, and for my pleasure.
No offense I loved the review but I think the end score for functionality might have been biased a bit due to the fact you were focusing so much on using it on a PC. If it was developed for the console then actually having it work as well as it did so early then it should earn some sort of brownie points instead. However, I was wondering if you could offer simple and cost effective replacements for the pedals, keeping in mind Im actually going to use this wheel to drive in GT5 more then on my pc
@simracingtonight got it. thanks, i thought they optimized it for PS3's GT series.. Does the G27 have full compatibility with GT? Just trying to figure out if i should have plunked down the extra change and gotten a G27
I'm going to buy a new wheel soon so I Would like to ask that is the GT better than G25 in Price-Quality range? If you didn't quite understand what I'm saying, I meant "Wich one is more worth your(or well.. my) money"? I am a big GT fan so I'm gonna drive with it alot. If the G25 really is worth the extra over GT then so be it.
yea , I installed the drivers then test it on control panel right after the installation. Then I tried neither GTR2 or LFS. They both detected my wheel, all the buttons works. Just the car is not pointing straight when my wheel is. So I jump back out to control panel, the same problem shows up there.
@gunblade1499 At the time of this airing, yes.. It still is a good wheel that drivers can be very fast with.. I love it when we're called "noobs".. We know of many top notch "alien" drivers that still use the DFGT with a separate pedal set.. Tell ya what.. Im not even the one that did this review and I can bet I can beat you with a DFGT I have here while you shift that 6 speed.. Hit us up anytime for the challenge.. Pick your software and we'll race.. Darin
This is a good wheel untill i brought the G27 Its feels alot smoother with the dual force feed back.. and quite. The GT4 wheel is good if you are buying a cheep wheel.
wheel is great and def lot more fun than using a pad. but it does oftenly not calibrate correctly so you may need to turn left or right to go straight in game. that really sucks. they claim it to be a software problem that is gonna be fixed. i hope they ll realize it soon
Driving Force GT would be the best. Its friggin awesome and alot cheaper than the G25. The G25 is more for hardcore gamers who want the very best. As for the Driving Force Pro, thats just the previous version to the GT- it was actually the official racing wheel for Gran Turismo 4 which is a while ago now. Go the GT, I bought one and trust me, its the shit.
I've added episode 27 of Inside Sim Racing to the video responses here. It has force feedback tips in it.
Thanks for watching !
We have re-reviewed it and used it a lot on the PS3.. It's a great console and PC wheel .
I just bought this wheel, my first force feedback wheel. IT's AWESOME!
I use this on the PC
Watch and listen again.. BTW... THis wheel has drivers for the PC.. Yes it was originally made for GT5 and the PS3, but works as well or better on a PC.
CST.... Cannon Simulation Technologies
Fanatec, TSW and ECCI also have high end pedals for the PC.
The Driving Force Pro ws the first version. It's a very good wheel as well.. Both are fully compatible with all racing games ont he PC and PS3
correct.. but it's fully functional and has drivers for the PC. Actually has better force feedback on the PC too.
Darin
We're going to try and meet up with them at the CES this week.. Stay tuned ! :-)
The clamp on the Logitech wheels are rock solid.. Should work great for you..
The Logitech Driving Force GT now has it's own PC compatible software and all buttons are map-able.
Actually because of Shaun's great review I went looking for a GT today and found one at my local Best Buy for half price since it was an open item. Blows my MOMO away so much I'm taking the MOMO back and keeping this GT at a much lower price than I paid for the other one too.

You can use the GT as well.. It's comptible with the PS2 as well
@favianutube It was developed for both and marketed for the PS3.. Check the Logitech website and see that they have a driver supporting full compatibility on the PC.. Also works great on the PS3

For the 360, the 911 Turbo S wheel will be the best.. It's not out yet though
G25 or Fanatec 911 Turbo are the best.. this wheel comes next in my opinion.
Darin
We haven't heard anything.. Tey just came out with a G27. Most likely the DFGT will be around for a few years.
I didn't review it for the PC, but have been using it on GT5. I don't think you can mix and match on the playstation like you can on a PC. I would say that the best pedals for the PS3 would be the ones that go witht he G25. Not sure you can use the DFGT with the G25 pedals though
Yes with the current drivers
@Bobobidodo Thats how your supposed to pronounce it... we americans are just used to saying turismo.
Also thanks for the compliment ! :)
@HeadbangingGermany They all do now.. Logitech released a new driver about a year ago.
Thats not an offensive comment.. lol.. Funny how people say things like " I don't mean to offend" but then go ahead and offend..
Thanks for the comment
@finlaar11 go into Logitech profiler, click edit, then click specific game settings.
You can then adjust the degrees of rotation from there.
Yes, but you need to get an adapter. There's a guy name Leo Bodnar that makes it and I think it's pretty cheap
combine this wheel with a Logitech Wingman Force feedback joystick, FFshifter software, bungee cord pedal mod, and any older wheel's gas pedal as the clutch and you have something like the G25/27
no it does not.. Thanks for watching
got the wheel today, very happy clamps are great easy to tighten or remove.just need to improve my driving.installation was easy, only draw back for me is the cables but there nice and long....
I doubt the horn and the red dial will work on the PS2. The main functions will though Im sure like Gas, brake, wheel, shifter paddles.
@hmwillow Geesh.. Some people are so harsh.. Maybe you should listen to his first words of the review in part one "Shame on me for using it on my PC".
So what if it was made for GT5.. ..It works grat and is a preffered wheel on the PC.

yes.. I noticed that as well.. odd..
Vista has a bug where you need to delete lines in the registry with force feedback. It's not the wheel.. It's the crappy OS that microsoft has put our for us to beta test for them. Google it to find the fix.> I've also posted it in our forums.
no..The shifter is hard mounted to the wheel
sounds like something driver related or something may be defective.. Odd that it works on the PS3 though.. Sorry we couldn't offer a better solution
@SpyOpz94
i assume you can, because my friend is using a g25 pedals with his g27 (no idea why lol)

Yes you can.. You need a mod though made by Leo Bodner
yes.. this one is a tad better though
Leo Bodnar makes a pedal adapter for this adapter so you can use better pedals. I'm not sure if you can use the G25 shifter though.
I hope so! because I just both it yesterday after watching you review for to join the GT5 Academy competition! ;)
geeking it up !
Great buy !
Ahh.. But does the Momo have 900 degrees max rotation ?? Also you can get the DFGT for under $100 now.
THanks for the post
Darin
@dacarfreak2000 Good catch, we reversed the shot.. ;)
Not really.. It does make some noise as you go over bumps , etc. .more of a chatter..
It is a common problem with the red MOMO. I've had one in the past. You need a center fix file which should be available on wingman website.
Have you loaded the Logitech drivers on your PC ? You can test everything in Control Panel and then Game Controllers
@n18brad very good !
Thank you!
I appreciate the review. It helped me understand that the brand new one I received is defective. You have got a few lemons it seems as far as DFGTs go.. I'd return that one as well..
We're comparing it to other wheels out there.. We still rank this wheel high and why bother doing a second video on how it's feel ? We're trying to be thorough
Don't think so.. not sure though
Ahh thanks for clearing that up it just appeared like that in the video. Ill try and research more about the combinations but it would appear your right, you wouldnt happen to know anything about rumors over a new GT wheel coming out with the full GT5 game?

go to options-gameplay-controls and choose number 18 configuration -driving force gt with separate pedals-
@D2608J he didn't talk of the shifter because is on the pc, the driver think the wheel is a driving force pro without the gear the shift and the + - button
yea go to option in the main menu and go to the steering wheels select driving force gt and decrease the force feedback setting
Hey there srt guys, nice videos, very good reviews.. I have a question.. Which wheel will perform better on PS2 (GT4, Enthusia etc.):

@HoLDoN4Sec Cool, and I was wondering, you could even buy a new pedal set to it right? And is it really loud when you turn it fast?
great review,
im gonna buy it!!! xD

GTA 4 is not really compatible with this wheel. A lot of other games are though. GT5 P, Ferrari, Midnight Club all work great with this wheel.
I'm going to get one of these when I get Gran Turismo 5.
dream on
Maybe we need to do it drunk ? Like your video playing guitar drunk..
Thanks for the advice.. LOL
@simracingtonight got it. thanks, i thought they optimized it for PS3's GT series.. Does the G27 have full compatibility with GT? Just trying to figure out if i should have plunked down the extra change and gotten a G27
@NicholasX9 its also for pc
@peak199 yeah but it holds its place it doesnt fly back like the gamestop one.
thanks man i was thinking about the gt before but i was not sure so again thanks
That's normal, all logitech wheels are like that.
It works for PC though with the WingMan Drivers.
nice review guys
i will buy it if gt5 comes out
Arigoto mr. roboto, you've made up my mind. GT it is! and i'll put it to full use on GRID. :P
The new drivers for the wheel fixed all the buttons!!!!!
I'm going to buy a new wheel soon so I Would like to ask that is the GT better than G25 in Price-Quality range? Back when in side sim racing was good
@HoLDoN4Sec How are you liking it? I just ordered the DFGT today.
@xZiiZel there is, dont plug in the power
They have no resistance. Like when you brake, it doesn't resist, you can just push it down to the ground.
This from the guy who posts a video of himself eating cereal.. LOL !!
yes. everything works
yea , I installed the drivers then test it on control panel right after the installation. Then I tried neither GTR2 or LFS. They both detected my wheel, all the buttons works. yea, I miss the clutch so much
ANy game on the PC and PS3 that supports it.. Most driving only games on the PS3 do.. GTA 4 does not work right in the driving sequences.
Gt is a better wheel overall.
wheel is great and def lot more fun than using a pad. but it does oftenly not calibrate correctly so you may need to turn left or right to go straight in game. that really sucks. they claim it to be a software problem that is gonna be fixed. i hope they ll realize it soon
