- Yet another episode of the classic ABC-TV cop show.No big name guest stars,or original commercials. But the video quality is pretty good,at least comparably speaking. So here it is.This aired in March 1969.
I have very fond memories of this show from when I was a kid. The 60's were a great time for TV.

Sick beat at 19:59. Soundtrack is nothing but beats and brass. Cool as all hell.

Compare this show with Dragnet, which ran during those same years, with better ratings.
Also, some viewers may find the video a bit grainy, the sound a bit unclear. That’s not “Dwight Frye’s” fault. I watched NYPD when it was originally shown, and it looked and sounded like that to begin with.
Yes-they were going for a cinema verite feel, and got it.

Is there any way you would be able to get the episode “Deadly Circle of Violence”? I have been looking all over for it but I can only find small bits and pieces. It would be amazing to see! Thanks!
I was able to buy every episode on DVD from a nypd lover. I cannot remember however who he was but I can find out. Will let you know.

This show got no ratings and was even too much for New Yorkers because it pictured so brilliantly the time and place and why watch what you live through every day?
So true which is what I liked about it but you are right - the reality was too much for too many.
Coach from Cheers directed that episode?
Yes, he directed 3 episodes of this show

I'm sorry. Too much yelling and angst. I know there has to be drama but I won't be viewing anymore of these.
