The Ballad of Sara Berry is definitely a fan favorite from this exhibition, including for me. I love that particular song, but now I think I should take the time to listen to the whole album.
@@mackenziegivens6061 He does backup vocals in most of the songs, but he also gets a few solos: “Crazytown,” “Cut You a Piece,” and “Why Must We Tell Them Why.”
for me ride the cyclone and 35mm kinda share the same space in two different ways. Both are two vibes only. There doesnt need to be a deep meaning or plot, but only a feeling that goes through the expierence and leaves me satisfied at the end.
Oh, I've got a running playlist of various animatics for 35mm songs on my channel if you are looking for more. Currently it's halfway full, but there's a good deal more than two!
“Why Must We Tell Them Why” is my favorite song from 33mm, and I think it sums the show up wonderfully! It’s a show that defies explanation, and while there is meaning to be found if you look deeper, its an awarding experience to be in the moment instead of asking why (like why there isn’t an overarching plot or if it’s all connected). As the chorus says “Think and you’ll miss it.”
Oh my god! I was hoping and praying you were going to cover this Diva. Thank you so much! This past summer I was in a local community theater production of 35mm and it was an amazing experience. Our production had a cast of 25 or so a lot of original choreography. Crazytown was a full ensemble piece of a nightmare brought to life. I didn't have any singing solos, but had several character roles. I was the Whore in Immaculate Deception-- basically think drag Archie Bunker in a blonde wig and red cocktail dress, drinking Billy Beer and smoking a cigar, as a living art exhibition. I also played The Bastard in Leave Luane, a role that literally made me sick to my stomach. And finally, I was Sarah Barry's father. The piece itself brought down the house every performance. Again thank you so much! I'm going to share this with the rest of the cast! One question, what was the footage you showed at points? Was it a visual production of 35mm created Ryan Scott Oliver?
I'm wondering too: Was it stage or movie? (And by "movie" I don't mean "Amateur album of film-student music videos".) And the latter reminds me--Have we ever had a Musical Hell judgment on "Michael Jackson's 'Moonwalker'"?
Very much so. It's titled as opera because it spoofs a lot of operatic conventions, but there's a lot of spoken dialogue and the music on the whole has a very 1920s German jazz sound. She talks about this a bit in her review of "Mack the Knife!"

It was honestly a surreal experience for me when I found out that Alex Brightman was in this hidden gem long before he made it big as Beetlejuice.
Wait, which segment is he in?

Fun fact: A student I used to tutor introduced me to this particular musical. It was apparently very popular on Tumblr.
That does not surprise me at all. The video and songs for this musical fall in line perfectly with what the Tumr crowd would like.

Girlie needs to do a Know the Score on Ride The Cyclone 🤤 Get on it, Diva!
More people need to discover 35mm because I can only find animatics for two of their songs and I need more!
What? I feel like there’s been hundreds of animatics for Sarah Barry.
@@jamesoniris2647 plenty for sarah barry, a few for leave luanne, radio silence for the rest.
@@jamesoniris2647yes, that's one of the two
@@jamesoniris2647I think that the Orignal person meant was that they could only find animatics for the two iconic songs rather than the others.

Leave Luanne genuinely gives me chills every time

The musical equivalent of Monty Python's Flying Circus.

cut you a Piece is one of my faves from this album! this one and the party goes with you! love it tbh very moving (plus the two you mention)
This show deserves to be on Broadway, not Diana the Musical 😊 It reminds me of Runaways in its revue style of connecting each story to one another.
Thanks for sharing! I’m plummeting down an Alex Brightman rabbit hole right now, and this is helping me decide if I should buy this soundtrack or not.
I have to write my video essay on ghost quartet before you beat me to it
I've been waiting for you to talk about this!!!!! 😆
Also, first. 😎✨

Can you do video on Stray Gods?
More of this, please.
I feel more confused than before I started watching the video.
Anybody here heard of the video game Stray Gods?
