Because he fought trucks a bit to stop him from interfering. If Cell AND Vegeta were looking for her, I think eventually she was gonna get caught. Would've been interesting to see how that would play out though. Would they find 18 or the others fend off Vegeta & Cell? Also, if Vegeta is simply distracted, what stops Cell from going on a killing spree? Trucks is the only one strong enough but he can't fight off both. It's not that easy to solve. Once Vegeta stops trying to kill Cell, the whole situation becomes a lot more awkward.

I love how he didn't include Piccolo into all this because Piccolo is the realest Z Fighter out of everybody. Sure he got bodied by Nappa, Frieza and Cell but he never gave up - Piccolo is just one of those characters you can't hate on.
Technically piccolo had to be one of the smartest and considerate Z fighters they had only reason he had to fuse with kami was for a powerup to take on the androids or cell (idk about if he could beat 17 np but with cell.... we know how that went) but afterwards when goku saved him and tien piccolo accepted his fate that cell was getting too strong to where there was nothing he could do so in reality piccolo was just smart

Good point, this is an aspect that gets forgotten after Goku came from Earth, but becoming SSJ essentially makes you really unstable. Hell, Goku on Namek could barely contain himself with his own friends. Gohan getting a new form and having zero emotional control of it makes a lot of sense.

Super Saiyan form had nothing to do with him letting Frieza get to full power. As a Saiyan, he craves a challenge. That's all. The idea of having a chance to fight a stronger opponent excites him. Later, in Super, Frieza uses this knowledge against Goku to convince him to bring him back to life. He said something along the lines of, "I got Golden form after just a few months of training. Aren't you curious to see how more powerful I can become?" And now they have Black Frieza to deal with. lol

Toryamas entire team hated cell in general. Absolute nightmare to draw since they had to redraw him every panel cause of the spots. That man will never make another official appearance. I gotta question toryama now cause he really stuck with this design knowing what a nightmare it would have been

I'm gonna give Piccolo a pass because the reason he didn't kill Cell in Gingertown was because he was trying to figure out what he was as well as his intentions. Dude made a smart move because the last thing the crew needed was another batch of Androids to come out of nowhere without warning (I mean that happened in the recent movie but still). Heck, Piccolo grilling Cell for answers was the reason they knew to find and destroy Gero's basement in order to stop another Cell from coming forward.
Piccolo did more then he did in the future, he fused with Kami. Which was enough to “stall” android 17. In the future, he could not touch one of the android.

I understand ChiChi chose to marry Goku and have half-breed children and that she brought it all on herself (having to do all the house work and doesn’t get much gratitude and respect for feeding and putting over their heads). But to be fair, she & Goku at the time didn’t know much about Saiyans and that this how they were born to be. Both of them weren’t of what they were getting themselves into.
So many problems could've been avoided if the Saiyans weren't so cocky and bloodthirsty. Goku and Vegeta are some of the worst examples of letting things get out of hand just because of their ego. Imagine all the lives lost because Goku wanted a tougher fight.
Tien and Trunks are the only guys Mal would dap up after this arc. Tien held Cell after Vegeta and Krillin acted brand new, and Trunks gracefully finessed his getback on 17, 18, and Cell after going home.

Piccolo is quite literally the only one in the Cell Saga who did his part and didn't fuck up. Put the team on his back and was the strongest for a good few episodes trying to take out the Androids BY HIMSELF.
piccolo, tien, and trunks held this entire arc together. piccolo being who he is, is the reason (in my head canon) that toriyama never gave him any further power boosts. he is the only Z fighter in the timeline (bar tien) that straight up goes for the kill asap. instead we get goofy ass saiyans playing games till the villain is too strong to joke with.
Piccolo let Cell slip from him after Piccolo tricked Cell into spilling his past and motivations Piccolo could have killed him but let him escape with a solar flare also trunks couldn't do shit to cell at the time he hadn't trained in the HBTC yet

Tien and Piccolo and Yamcha(surprisingly) came out the cell saga realtively clean. they showed up, did what work they could, and didnt screw anything up. they got cooked no doubt but they put on for the team the best they could.
Tien ESPECIALLY. Nobody asked or expected him to even CONFRONT cell and any point, but he decided to fuck around and blast him into the ground for 4 hours

I love cell so much because it's a lesson in futility. All they had to do was stop the androids from getting absorbed, and they had so many chances and they got so close so many times, but it's impossible to avoid the inevitable.

In their defense, Toriyama's editor hated semi-perfect Cell's design so a lot of their brain-dead decisions were to accelerate Cell becoming perfect.

Put the team on his back and was the strongest for a good few episodes trying to take out the Androids BY HIMSELF.
piccolo, tien, and trunks held this entire arc together. piccolo being who he is, is the reason (in my head canon) that toriyama never gave him any further power boosts. he is the only Z fighter in the timeline (bar tien) that straight up goes for the kill asap. instead we get goofy ass saiyans playing games till the villain is too strong to joke with.

Tien and Piccolo and Yamcha(surprisingly) came out the cell saga realtively clean. they showed up, did what work they could, and didnt screw anything up. they got cooked no doubt but they put on for the team the best they could.
Tien ESPECIALLY. Nobody asked or expected him to even CONFRONT cell and any point, but he decided to fuck around and blast him into the ground for 4 hours

I love cell so much because it's a lesson in futility. All they had to do was stop the androids from getting absorbed, and they had so many chances and they got so close so many times, but it's impossible to avoid the inevitable.
Yeah, but lots of them had chances to not fuck things up and they did, out of pride, arrogance, or both. I'll give a bit of a pass to Tien and Yamcha. Not much they could do.

I'd love to see a follow-up giving praise to the Z Fighters who stepped up even though they knew they'd get bodied. Piccolo and Tien may not have been able to keep up, but damn did they ever make it count as much as possible
