💀 Hey Skeleton Crew! Let us know which song has the most , which song has the most , and drop the time code of your favorite licks! Oh, and say hi to if you see him ;)
Why is everyone picking on ibanez's naming? The most popular bass series are SR, BTB and EHB. The last digit shows the number of strings. The first digit (or the first two digits if it's a four digit model) shows how high up the range it is...and the MS shows that it's multiscale. It's waaay easier to understand what kind of bass it is than for example Fender with their Chinese, mexican, American, standard, deluxe, reissued and whatever models...
1500 isn't the bass price. The 1005 starts at 1299 or so. It's just thier premium tier. 900s used to be thier top now they have 1200-1600 upper mid range they've put out a 2400 which is loaded with Aguilar and is the flagship import. Then next up is the Japanese built.
@@rl-ub9hx you just named a bunch of basses that have extra features that raise the base price. They’ve also all gone up at least $100 due to inflation, but I bought an sr300e new for $300, and an sr505e for $600 (the 5 was $100 more)
I love mine. I have had others players use it at jams and they like it, as well. I typically run it in passive mode and it sounds so warm and full. Sounds great on blues songs!
I appreciate this demo! I love the versatility of this bass. I acquired one about a month ago and have really been enjoying it. Thanks for making this video!
I used it in a session yesterday and made me wish I had a 5 string version. Maybe i'll have to demo one of those next with the bart pups and preamp... ;)
@@deadbeatstudios A local shop had one that I tinkered with just to get a feel for the multi scale design and it was pretty nice. I loved the matte seafoam green color and the roasted birdseye maple fretboard. If the budget had allowed, I might have considered it, too.
I've got the five-string version of this. Killer bass, absolutely stellar for live playing. Cutting tones, powerful EQ, lightweight, fits in a guitar bag and ultra comfortable to play. Not my most comfortable bass for sitting down though, primarily because the added size of the tuners push the neck further away from the player.
I appreciate this review. I just ordered one of these, and wanted to get an idea of it's capabilities. I'm glad you touched on different genres. I rarely get a call for metal, but I do a lot of Blues, R&B, Country etc. Nice to hear how it sits sonically. I'm looking forward to getting to know this axe.
Really ??? I saw this on Amazon and it said it was 15lb... I didn't know if that was the entire shipping weight or not. I play live and have had 2 back surgery's, so weight, unfortunately, is as big of an issue as tone, feel... & everything else. They don't give the weight on any of the sites and Amazon is the only place I can see weight of the item. I would totally get this 6 string bass if it's 8lb. Thanks for posting that !!!!
I love this bass but there’s a problem, I ordered this to be tuned to a whole step down, and when I did, it worked great, but when I wanted to tune up to standard tuning, all the strings wouldn’t tune all the way up to and passed standard tuning, so I had to tweak the string Height for it to tune higher, and all the strings were fine, except the E string, which is always flat when I would try to tune up the tuning peg got tighter and tighter, and wouldn’t move. Can someone explain what is going on?
Kinda like the dry tone for the instremental “jazzy” break That said, all your processed sounds are on point! Almost of a review of your EQ gear than of the bass lol
Awesome demo, jayme. Personally I think it sounds killer. Even though the model isn’t really my style. Still, a great sounding bass. I do wish Ibanez would reissue their srx(soundgear extreme) basses. They were awesome basses.
@@deadbeatstudios and the closest thing to an Ibanez srx bass as of now is a Yamaha trbx304/305. I own a trbx305 and a trbx505 and these basses are phenomenal and underrated. I recommend checking these basses out if you want to check out something different.
This bass is worth $3000k in Australia, close to what you could get a Dingwall for. Major brands take the piss with their pricing. This bass sounds good but it's just not competitive against basses that are in its price range.
I really love your reviews Jayme. Also I have a question to you or someone that already have this bass for a while. How low this instrument can be tuned? Will it maintain standard A tuning without any problem? I am looking for multiscale bass which will be easy to modify in future by exchanging the electronics with DG Tone capsule. This bass seems to be best fit, but I am unsure if it will be be sturdy enough to keep the standard A tuning. Thanks in advance and cheers!
thanks I'm honored! I don't recall how it holds tuning off the top of my head (I had this bass several months ago) but I talk all about my opinions about it in this video www.patreon.com/posts/64087822 stay well!
Already owned one. It had everything to be perfect on paper, but was a piece of crap in the real world. Poor execution and QC. Couldnt even use some frets cause it would choke the string. Dead spots everywhere, terrible fretbuzz. Event after 2 leveling jobs by a luthier. If it had a good quality , it would give Dingwalls a serious contender
@@rl-ub9hx i hoped I had a lemon, but a friend of mine owned a 1505ms at the same time and had the same issues. I reallly would have loved to have a good 1506. They really sound great and feel great but I just think Ibanez have bad QC. At that price point such lemons are unacceptable.

It's always been the most straightforward and logical naming.... These peeps should check out PC Monitor naming 😂😂
Ibanez naming is awesome. Ehb is the range, 15 is 1500, the base price, the 06 means 6 string. The MS is multiscale. It makes perfect sense to me!
@@rl-ub9hx the 1500 is the ballpark price of the 1500 bass. The 1005 is more because it’s a 5, and prices go up for ms, and other features.
Nah man. It's a good guess but that's not it. Look at the sr500, sr600, the sr1600, the btb806ms, the ehb1506ms is 1899. And those aren't even msrp.

It may not be “proper”, but for some reason I’ve always liked natural bass tone in metal.

That was my primary concern with the EHB as well, as I don't really like a huge reach to the nut.
VERY NICE JAYME, NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN

Nice one bro! Do you use long scale Strings or super long scale strings? I would be interested if long scale one's fit?
