Great review Ryan! Very thoughtful suggestions for the company and for cyclists. Always good to know what features to look for and what works.
Thank you! That would actually be a great video: what to look for in a bike bag/pannier. : D
I am so enjoying your videos! Thank you for this - I am just looking for some panniers for my RadRunner and seeing how these fit is awesome! I'm going to pick some up and try them on my first 4 day bike tour (you've inspired me to try it!) with my 10 year old in the Gulf Islands near Vancouver! Thank you so much for making this seem accessible for me! Man I love my RadRunnner too, I got the Plus version and LOVE it!
I use the Ross wheel ones off Amazon. They're a lot similar. I like the hanging bags. You don't got to worry about the velcro strap the weight will keep them on there. I find they're really easy to take on and off the bike. I use bungees to add compression and prevent sway. Good touring bags you don't have to feel bad about beating up.
I like that brand in the video. Thanks 👍
Excellent useful review. Thank you!
These look great!
I've gone with rockbros panniers from Amazon and Ive been well satisfied so far. Decent quality for the price.
Yea I’ve seen a lot of people with that budget brand too. I think Vincita is a little lesser known but they are making there way over here!
I love your videos! If you are looking for a topic, I would love an in-depth discussion of wheels and tires. Touring with rail-trails and pavement but not technical single-tracking... The topic seems a mystery to me.
Nice to see a review on these. I bought the thinner Vincita pannier off ebay (new and discounted), and they look perfect for a front pannier for my budget bike touring. I use hand vacuum sealing bags for all my gear, so water resistance isn't an issue. I also spray down my panniers with canvas waterproofer as a secondary measure. My rear pannier is a Ross, so also a cheaper brand. That has held up over 3 years without issue.
Only problem is that I need to build a front rack long enough for this Vincita, but I'm a welder, and I built my rear rack (Tig welded solid aluminum roundstock).
Excellent review….thanks!
📌 If you’re looking for a budget get around town bag, this is a great option.
I made paniers out of 36 can coolers from Walmart. 40 bucks including hardware.
@@TheCyclingArtist oh wow i need to see photos of this. did you sew them together?
@@radbikeadventure na I can post them on Patreon or the FB page. Not perfect but good enough right?
@@radbikeadventure I have seen Vincita sell pannier hardware for like $15 on amazon (ones that include a lower clip thing)...they also sell just the upper hooks for like $10.
I've also seen DIY'd panniers out of bug cat litter plastic tubs and some hooks.
Nice looking bag, I like all the different color options.
Same! Super cute town bags. Could do light touring too 😊
How has the Velcro held up on these? I have some panniers that attach with Velcro that I'm replacing and the Velcro is deteriorating.
Another great review. Could those two loops on the black panniers be for a shoulder strap for carrying them off the bike?
I thought of that but don’t think so. A d ring would be better but still don’t think it would hang right
@@radbikeadventure Maybe to hang your coffee mug off then :)
Great review. It doesn't look like you can put a trunk bag on the rack with these because of the fabric that goes on top of the rack. Am I wrong about this? Thank you!
Of these two which one do you prefer? Would you say that either of them are close to good enough to do both grocery shopping and biking hilly trails?
I like the grey ones better (because i can leave them open and stuff em full), but the black one's outer pocket is easier to get into. They're equal in quality. You can definitely use them for grocery shopping and hilly trails!
These look big enough to just put an entire filled reusable grocery bag into if you don't close it. Would you say this is possible? Looking for a budget solution to grocery shopping with my Juiced e-bike. Do they feel stable on the rack while riding? I had cheap panniers once with inexpensive metal clips that used to bend apart.
Hola, sorry for this question
Do you know when is available a swapmeet specific for bicycles in San Diego? Thanks in advance , saludos desde Toluca.Mexico
I'm sorry, I don't know if there is one.
Dope video, thanks
Will this fit my Radrunner rack. It’s about 7.5 inches wide. Nice review!
We put the black one on our Radrunner rack too! Love it for the unexpected shopping trip or ebiking to the beach : D
Hey rad fam, I recently bought a really expensive touring bike, i tried to change the tire the other day and the chain got caught under the bottom bracket shell and made a deep groove, has this happened to you? And is there anyway to protect the bike from rough touring and mistakes like this? Thanks
I have not had this happen to me no. You can use nail polish to cover the scratch but if it's really deep I would have a mechanic look at it.
When you remove a wheel, make sure your chain is in the outer most cog in front and back chainring/cassette (so shift into the highest ie hardest to pedal gears). This will make it much easier to remove the wheel.
@@radbikeadventure thanks for the info, really appreciate the wisdom :)
Good real world review. Thank you. I'd like to see what they look like without anything in them.
Have you all ever used a bike cargo trailer and what is your opinion vs panniers (for bike touring)
We have not toured with a trailer but I do have one for shopping/grocery runs and love it. I have the Burly Nomad. Really nice to have the weight lower and be able to get things in and out really easily. I guess main drawback is now you have another big thing to haul if you want to take a bus or train or fly somewhere. But if you’re staying local I think it’s a great option if you want/need to carry a lot of gear.
@@radbikeadventure I love that Burley Coho XC, but I don't go offroading enough to justify the almost $500 price tag.
The "whaAat?!" after pulling out all the snacks 😅
😂 😛
I'm on the Vincite web site in the catalog. What section are these bags in?
Panniers!
The fabric seems to be waterproof. It looks like it has that plastic layer on the inside. Did you notice whether water gets in through the fabric or just seams and zippers? If it's seams, they can be waterproofed by Gear Aid waterproofing glue.
It's more porous than cordura so it will come through the fabric, but that's a good idea to waterproof the seams.
I like to use water proof bags, personally I have ACID 20L panniers, cost about 70€ for pair. Pretty cheap for what you get. To me it just makes sense, you don't want to get water into your stuff and bag getting wet would increase weight.
🏝 🤘🏻 Yes beaches, More beaches! 🤘🏻🏝
Very nice review; is that the tiny djembe you were thinking about?
Yes we definitely need some bike/surf vlogs! That ones a wee bit on the large side 😆 🪘
Have no idea if the velcro side strap will fit my bicycle.
I see that you used the black bag on a fatty eBike. Was the middle part wide enough to fit comfortably over it's rack?
Yes it works!!
@@radbikeadventure
Great, thanks.
With panniers, it always seem like the differences between the bag and the rack themselves don't always match, with two different companies, one making a pannier rack hoping to fit most bags and the other try to make a bag that fits most racks, in the end, it's best just to get a decent quality rack and an alright bag and fill up those imperfections with some DIY and creativity
I've been kinda lucky with the ibera pakrak racks.
On another bike I had to zip tie two fairly sturdy metal hangers to keep the bags out of the spokes. Buahaha
It works, but I'd like to eventually upgrade to a proper pannier rack.
$40-ish for the big double pannier is not bad at all. Water resistant, not water proof, like she said, but the price is definitely right for what you get. Looks big enough.
#partypace Great review too. -) BTW, what brand of hat is that or what style is it?
Thanks! Not sure I bought it super discount while in NZ and took off the previous patch then ironed #partypace on!
Russ at Path Less Pedaled uses that hashtag.. for all the non-competitive cyclists out there. I thought she bought it from his channel, before finding her reply to your question
We have Carradice small pannier made from cotton duck, waterproof and bombproof !! Stay Safe!
Ooh yea Carradice is really nice! Are they heavy tho?
They should have a trunk included for extra space...
Yeah cool I like my aszus ones but they tend to split 😲
Oh that's not good. I intend to put these to some heavy use so will see how they hold up
@@radbikeadventure I'm just glad I wasn't bike packing when it happened 🤣🤣
Use as delivery food
partypace (:
I use medical army bags..
