      It's quite amusing to observe the way in which the so-called fake Egyptians are dressed up, resembling more Romans or Greeks, while the Ethiopians seem to capture the essence of ancient Kemet depicted on the wall art. Now that I've delved into the actual history, it's evident that the Ethiopians walk with a regal bearing, symbolized by the left foot firmly stepping on their enemies, highlighting a facet of history often overlooked by Eurocentric perspectives.
      Initially, "The Ten Commandments" was hailed as a remarkable movie, but my perspective underwent a significant shift when I uncovered the extent of fabrication and misrepresentation within it. I firmly believe that a more faithful portrayal could be achieved by incorporating the historical context of Greek and Roman intrusions into Egypt,.
      While the indigenous African heritage, including the names and contributions of the ancient Kemet people who were the true architects of the pyramids and temples history remain separate.
      White or olive-skinned individuals would not have been able to find it possible under the scorching 90-120-degree Egypt sun without their shirts during that time, as implied by the film. Furthermore, the attire depicted in "The Ten Commandments" closely resembles Greek clothing, which is a far cry from the historical clothing worn by the ancient Egyptians, or Kemet people, who did not sport helmets as portrayed in the movie.
      A commendable aspect of the film, though, is the portrayal of the Nubians and Ethiopians, whose clothing aligns more closely with the historical records found on the walls of ancient Egypt, featuring garments adorned with cheetah or leopard pattern

    Fantastic scene, like every other scene in this movie.
    I doubt the guests would be allowed in so close to the Pharoah. Anne Baxter's jealousy is hilarious. Also hilarious that Nefertiri and Seti can supposedly talk to each other about Ramses and Moses with them standing just a couple feet away.

    The best story ever told in the old testament about Pharos & Moses was in Egypt. God chose a Royal African country to tell the greatest story. Story is about two countries, two brothers, African Royalty and slavery, maintaining power at any cost. God shows how mighty and powerful he is through the journey. At the end, both men got separated and lead their own people.

    Great costumes and staging. Good movement and camera work. Bombastic lines that a bright 16-year-old could have written. We were a more naive people when this hit the movie theaters. Judging by the comments and the broad nationwide support for DJT, we haven't come very far.

    @ChiefX07 I believe this would be a fun video of fact vs fiction.
    I think they combined the kingdoms of Ethiopia and Nubia under Ethiopia in this movie. But in 1956 they indeed recognized beauty amongst black people. Unfortunately I could not find more on the actress that played the Ethiopian Princess but the King was indeed an athlete of Olympic status and married to one of the Hawaiian princesses in real life.

    Fun fact: The Ethiopians here aren’t actually the modern day Ethiopians of the horn of Africa. It actually refers to the Nubians of the Kingdom of Kush who in ancient time were referred to as the “Ethiopians” in the Greco-Roman world. The city of Meroe is actually the capital of the kingdom of kush and is located in modern day Sudan 🇸🇩. So in reality, the Ethiopians mentioned here are the modern day Sudanese people. We’re the real Ethiopians 🇸🇩♥️.

    The drama of dialogue in movies is something modern directors and writers have sadly forgotten. The little skirmishes between moses and his brother and nefertiti allying with moses while wise sethi sees everything that is going on between those three is more interesting than actual combat and special effects. New horizons the costner movie is like that.

    0:38 Narrator 2: Indeed, having been granted the rank of the commander of Pharaoh’s army, everyone knew Moses’s name. How he had been drawn from the water. How he had been taken into the Egyptian life. Being next in line for the throne was good news for Moses, but unfortunate news for Ramses. You see, he was originally next in line, but now that Moses was to be granted the rank, this made Ramses bitter.

    One thing confuses me; was Nefertiti Pharoah’s daughter or his ward? Marrying Ramses if she was his daughter, meant that she married her own brother. If she wasn’t, she still ended up with a crap husband.

    • @pulsare.m.6719
      @pulsare.m.6719 4 роки тому +18

      First of all she was Nefertiri, not Nefertiti. And Pharaoh Sethi I wasn't her father. She was taken to the court as she was highborn from an old previous royal house. Sort of a Diplomatic marriage. But some sources say that Rameses II and Nefertiri had an actual love.

    • @Hadassah635

      She was his kin. Not sure what relation she was to him (maybe daughter or maybe cousin, etc.) Besides, the Pharaoh's married their relatives to keep the line pure.
