    As a bit of a film maker myself on UA-cam l thought l would offer Neville some related vocal support here . Filming any subject matter (especially outside) that you have no directorial control over can be time consuming and sometimes very frustrating when trying to get the shots you want ,often capturing them by chance or being in the right place at the right time (or not as the case may be)...for example Neville could hardly of asked them to remove and refit the wings and engines again could he.The manner (rightly or wrongly) in which the re- assembly of the B25 Mitchell was conducted was also out of Neville’s control. Neville's enthusiasm and commitment in recording/ editing and producing these videos brings enjoyment to thousands and l'm sure is greatly appreciated by the majority of the people/ enthusiasts watching them.

    Loved the post Neville, thank you for all your efforts. I had a grim thought watching this, being, how many young men lost their lives or were injured trying to exit one of these aircraft during flight due to battle damage. For my money, all these aircraft are living memorials for the fallen and injured.

    Thanks Neville. Great to see the construction of the B 25. I am amaized at how quickly they have got her built up. Brilliant job. Love the little artwork and the note on the side of her referring to no merlins. 😂 Well done filming this for us all to watch mate. Top man. Best wishes. 👍

    There are 2 stop rings inside propeller hub . One is for high blade angle and the other is for low angle . The info for where the stops are positioned and the drawing number is usually painted on with stencile on each blade back . Note the back side is the side the mechanics were working on and the blade face is the opposite side facing rear .

    Many congratulations on an impossible quick re assembly and of course a superb (as always) video, with explanatory sound. But why the rush? Making the task for your excellent lads to identify and access systems etc to enable the aircraft to display very difficult. However as usual, well done…

    You might have to set up a one way system with traffic lights with three aircraft buzzing around the airfield.

    When you consider how some a/c are restored to flight from a pile of scrap, seeing such a complete machine that flew relatively recently it seems a shame not to be able to restore to flight status. Of course this is easy to say, huge expense then ongoing cost and there are a good number of airworthy B25.

      Cooling?

    • @givenfirstnamefamilyfirstn3935
      @givenfirstnamefamilyfirstn3935 Рік тому +4

      They could have spinners for low altitude operation only, less compression heat in the induction air and more effective denser cooling air.

    • @Simon_Nonymous
      @Simon_Nonymous Рік тому +1

      I think the two other chaps have nailed it, but it's pretty much standard with nearly all radial engines as they are basically air cooled so need air flow across the cylinders; a spinner would reduce that too much, plus if you consider that spinners work for streamlining on inline engines, then there's not much gain to be had on a radial which is a big round thing stuck in the air flow in the first place. Then the Fw 190 changed things a bit... (NB I am a total amateur, very often wrong, but always glad to be corrected and learn more!)

  • @davidlawrencebanks4610
    @davidlawrencebanks4610 Рік тому

    Shame you missed most of it. There is no reverse thrust on piston engines. And in jets its only reverse buckets that are normally deployed for reverse thrust which is only reversing the jet thrust not the engines themselves. Not like you Neville... I think the resident mechanics are more knowledgeable by miles. Cheers Neville 👍
