Can remember hearing the whistle when they crossed the bridge over pine creek about a mile west of Galeton. Summer of 1974. I was eight years old at the time.
So awesome to see this! I grew up in Westfield, and remember the day (Days) they took the tracks out. I was only a young boy though. Years later I would work at the Tannery. Now its all gone. Thanks for sharing this.
After being used by the two different commuter rail authorities mentioned above (where they were numbered 6690 and 6691), they went to a railroad museum in Connecticut, then 2200 (ex-SP 6443) shown in the video, and 2300 (ex-T&NO 365) went to the Galveston Railroad Museum in Texas, where they are painted in a pseudo Santa Fe 'Warbonnet' paint scheme and numbered 315 and 316 and power the museum's excursion trains. There are many photos and videos of them on the internet.
WP 805A is alive and well in Portola CA at the Feather River Rail Society's Western Pacific Railroad Museum. Passenger FP7A(the only existing WP California Zephyr unit).
Awesome footage, thank you for sharing this piece of railroad history.

After WA&G's demise in mid Fall 1979,Dismantled all of its Trackage & is now Rail to Trails.
Beginning is the Watrous bridge near Gaines Junction. It was torn down in the last 5 years or so.
Had a fleet of GE Centercabs.Operated until they became worn out.
Some rare footage of a pretty obscure rail line.
