I used to go to a public school where the Dress Code was basically:
●Don't show up naked
●Don't show up in a bikini
●Wear shoes
You could come in booty shorts and a crop top and its okay
Same, but not even the one of the shoes, just don't hurt your feet and you're good

I think that Jen was technically right with the measuring. I think Avalon measured it down the leg instead of straight down. An easier way would've been to measure six inches on the tape and then dangle it down to see if it touched the floor.
You can tell this was all filmed in the same day because Avalon is wearing the same outfit every time

I live in Texas, but I'm originally from New Jersey. The only dress-code rule we had in school was no flip-flops allowed. Not because they were "inappropriate" but because they were a tripping hazard. I feel fortunate to have grown up in a school system that cared more about kid's safety than what they looked like.

What? I’m from NJ and my school is so strict about dress code especially this year it tightened up so much. We’re allowed to wear flip flops tho and we must MUST like u have to or else u get sent to the office for like the whole day wear a lanyard which displays ur student ID. Like I get it’s for safety but teachers act like it’s the end of the world if u forget it 1 day.
We had a huge list of things we technically weren't supposed to wear...but the only main two they really enforced were "no spaghetti straps" and "no midriff"
I wore flip flops throughout my highschool career. I also tripped on stairs a lot. In hindsight...I probably shouldn't have worn the flip flops...
Our school wont let us wear shorts with tights (I do it anyway cuz I don't give a flying fuck) no LGBTQ or skulls, nothing that goes beyond the shoulders, no ripped jeans, no hair covering eyes and no gel in your hair, and for some reason no T shirts with long sleeves underneath because apparently it's a distraction

The whole measuring thing is such a good point though, it depends on the person measuring and that kind of stuff. Fabric can be pretty unpredictable sometimes and measure as longer in the morning and a lil shorter later in the day

In my district AJH/AHS (Angleton jr high/ high school) we have a pretty laid back dress code.
Ex: we can wear like really ripped jeans we just have to wear leggings underneath and we can cover it with paper.
"boys are prohibited from wearing fingernailpolish" so toenailpolish is fine.
This is one of the many reasons why I’m glad I go to school in Australia as they are much more lenient with uniform and they’re rules aren’t as strict
the reason the second day dress was coded was because kristen had her arms down when jen was measuring and then she had her hands on her hips which raised her shoulders when the other girl was measuring
Also the girl measured following the curve of her knee rather than straight down. That made it seem shorter than when Jen measured it.
They were also on a carpet when they first measured, which made the actual floor seem closer & therefore the measurement shorter
I’m sorry I am a growing teenage girl and my bra strap shows sometimes, but guys go shirtless in gym and sag their jeans to their knees.

This is a school dress code video... Guys in schools don’t walk around with no shirt, whereas many girls choose/want to where more provocative clothing.
The dress code is enforced because of the students’ tendencies to where certain clothing. And before anyone tries to say guys don’t have dress codes, they do, they just don’t go breaking it all the time.

That first one would’ve eliminated all of my shirts back in high school.
Also, if I was in high school now, with that dress code, I would’ve pointed out on the first day that the rules didn’t say I had to wear a shirt, just that I couldn’t wear any of the ones I had. I would’ve also pretended my family was much poorer than we actually were and claimed that my clothes were given to me by our church and that “we don’t have enough money for food AND clothing! Do you really want us to go hungry just so I can have a shirt that caters to your preferences?”
I wrote a paper on dress codes. It was supposed to be a persuasive essay. It ended up being 3 pages. And just informative. Because I basically just vented the entire time.

I went to a school that had a strict dress code (no leggings) and wore leggings every single day. I never got in trouble because I was nice to all teachers and the principal. Just smile and make eye contact with teachers then they will let you get away with everything. Literally, a girl got dress coded right next to me and I walked right past the teacher smiled and moved on.

I used to live in Texas before I moved to Oregon. The dress code is VERY different!
Rules in Texas:
1.) No ripped jeans.
2.) No unnatural hair color.
3.) If wearing leggings, shirt must cover bottom.
4.) No strapped dresses or shirts.
5.) Skirts/dresses/shorts must reach past fingertips.
6.) Sleeves must be at least three fingers long.
7.) Boys are not allowed to have long hair (not until they reach high school)
8.) Boys are not allowed to wear earrings.
Rules in Oregon:
1.) Don’t be naked.
Edit: I also want to point out that I lived in East Texas. I’m not sure how schools are in other areas, but with all the schools I’ve been to, these rules were always there.
I currently live in Texas, and NEISD school district is kind of different.
1) If wearing tank top it must be be at least 3 fingers long.
2) If wearing leggings, shorts must cover the bottom
3) Allowed to wear ripped jeans.
4)Skirts/dresses/shorts must reach past fingertips.
5)No crazy hairstyles because it can distract other students.
6) If in athletics, you have to have natural hair color. But if not, you can have unnatural hair colors.
7) Sleeves must cover shoulders.
8) Girls can only have ear piercings.
