I think that Jen was technically right with the measuring. I think Avalon measured it down the leg instead of straight down. An easier way would've been to measure six inches on the tape and then dangle it down to see if it touched the floor.

Bullshit. She was picking on Kristin. The "bend" of the knee is in the back where it, duh, bends. She got over 6 inches by bending the measuring tape under Kristin's knee. She may be fine irl, but she enjoyed this a bit too much for me to agree with you.

I know what you mean I’m just glad like now it’s chill I go to science hill in Johnson city and they don’t care about dress code at all but if you went back to middle school it was so strict
Love when the Dress Code Violation shirt breaks one of the rules for Duncanville Texas (collarless tops must be SOLID colors and WITHOUT LOGOS, EMBLEMS, OR DESIGN) lolll
It's really sad that boys are prohibited to wear nail Polish or makeup Because it's "feminine" these schools aren't letting kids be themselves and it's Just sad.
I used to live in Texas before I moved to Oregon. The dress code is VERY different! Rules in Texas: 1.) No ripped jeans. 2.) No unnatural hair color. 3.) If wearing leggings, shirt must cover bottom. 4.) No strapped dresses or shirts. 5.) Skirts/dresses/shorts must reach past fingertips. 6.) Sleeves must be at least three fingers long. 7.) Boys are not allowed to have long hair (not until they reach high school) 8.) Boys are not allowed to wear earrings. Rules in Oregon: 1.) Don’t be naked. Edit: I also want to point out that I lived in East Texas. I’m not sure how schools are in other areas, but with all the schools I’ve been to, these rules were always there.
I currently live in Texas, and NEISD school district is kind of different. 1) If wearing tank top it must be be at least 3 fingers long. 2) If wearing leggings, shorts must cover the bottom 3) Allowed to wear ripped jeans. 4)Skirts/dresses/shorts must reach past fingertips. 5)No crazy hairstyles because it can distract other students. 6) If in athletics, you have to have natural hair color. But if not, you can have unnatural hair colors. 7) Sleeves must cover shoulders. 8) Girls can only have ear piercings.
we can wear ripped jeans just no rips in the thigh, no strapless or spaghetti straps, three finger length and everything else y’all listed but one of our teachers said three fingers above the knee as another excuse even tho it is passed our finger tips which is dumb asf. the teachers r so strict with dress code at my school
I'm really disappointed that they did this in one day, what was great about the first video was that they had to experience the feeling of dressing like that all day rather than just for 10 minutes. However, a good thing this video highlights how much easier dress codes are for masculine dressing people, because it was so much easier for Jen. It obviously targets femme people.
It targets the people that try to dress too provocatively, but ends up doing it in a demeaning way or ways that have no standard. Like when it comes to arm lengths there's no standard on that. Some people have longer arms than others, so some people can get away with certain things when it's measured that way. The point for Jen being here was to see if someone that dresses more like a typical teenager would be able to pass. Most of what Kristin wears isn't something a teen would typically be wearing in high school, which is one of the reasons why she started the series. However, you do get to see that even Jen had quite a few issues with some dress codes and none of her stuff is even provocative. It's also interesting to see that, for the most part, Kristin ends up with just about the same clothes being allowed every time. Like she says, she ends up at the same place, but getting there is different.
They probably had to shoot it in one day because of the guest judge, I don’t think buzzfeed would be happy if they had a teenager hanging out there all week.
Umm i think they did do it for more than 1 day you hear them say yesterday when they talk about things i think they did one a day they just didn't put it in the video
Actually my closet looked a lot like Kristians in High school very few girls I know had a closet like Jen's unless that was just their style her clothes are closer to what a lot of guys I knew wore over the years. It is way easier as a guy to pass Texas dress codes I have lived all over the state and was constantly getting dress coded while guys pretty much wore what they wanted. One high school I went to did this thing if you are an AP tester you can buy bands to wear sweats and PJs on test day, but only guys could wear basketball shorts. It didn't even make sense like what is my vagina gonna show or it's too sexy? Idk but the only thing guys get is facial hair and gender stereotypes which does suck but guys still have it much easier in ever other aspect.
Watched a video about dress codes back in the days for women, spent the next two weeks yelling "OH MY GOSH IS THAT AN aNkLe!!! YOU ARE SUCH A SCOUNDREL!!!"
The dress length probably moved from 6-7 inches depending on if Kristen was slouched or not! If she bent over a little foreword, it would gain length in the front.
Yep. And people are actually taller in the morning so it's plausible that she was actually shorter the night before. Your spine compresses through the day.
thats totally possible but she wasn't measuring right, she wasn't counting the silver part of the measuring tape which is almost half of that first inch!
Also, based on the material of the dress, she probably could have pulled it more down all the way from the top kinda like I pull fabric from the bottoms of my leggings.
@@rakijaa Yeah I agree it's because of the fabric - Jen measured right after Kristen had put on the dress, when it was pulled down and more stretched out over Kristen's body. The teenager measured after Kristen had walked over, and that type of fabric tends to contract and ride upwards a bit with movement.
The whole measuring thing is such a good point though, it depends on the person measuring and that kind of stuff. Fabric can be pretty unpredictable sometimes and measure as longer in the morning and a lil shorter later in the day

Isn’t Texas a Bible Belt State though?
Texas is a bibles belt state though. 🤣😂
We had Uniforms of course
January Giles I’m also from East TN and this is EXTREMELY true.
I know what you mean I’m just glad like now it’s chill I go to science hill in Johnson city and they don’t care about dress code at all but if you went back to middle school it was so strict
The "principal" has a really cute voice. She kinda sounds like Daisy Duck
Bailee S

The worst school was ‘boys can’t wear earrings or nail polish’ it was sexism to another level.
That rule is targeting the lgbt kids
Love when the Dress Code Violation shirt breaks one of the rules for Duncanville Texas (collarless tops must be SOLID colors and WITHOUT LOGOS, EMBLEMS, OR DESIGN) lolll

It's really sad that boys are prohibited to wear nail Polish or makeup
Because it's "feminine" these schools aren't letting kids be themselves and it's
Just sad.
A boy should be himself by being a boy.
Taylor Roberts go f yourself
I totally agree
Taylor Roberts but being a boy wouldn't technically be being hi himself.
Yeh
The principle was breaking dress code! Yes girl I saw them shoulders you gonna make boys think about spaghetti! 🤨🤦🏼♀️

I used to live in Texas before I moved to Oregon. The dress code is VERY different!
Rules in Texas:
1.) No ripped jeans.
2.) No unnatural hair color.
3.) If wearing leggings, shirt must cover bottom.
4.) No strapped dresses or shirts.
5.) Skirts/dresses/shorts must reach past fingertips.
6.) Sleeves must be at least three fingers long.
7.) Boys are not allowed to have long hair (not until they reach high school)
8.) Boys are not allowed to wear earrings.
Rules in Oregon:
1.) Don’t be naked.
2) If wearing leggings, shorts must cover the bottom
3) Allowed to wear ripped jeans.
LISD as in Lytle ISD
Same but in California
i moved from texas to oregon too, its better here
I'm really disappointed that they did this in one day, what was great about the first video was that they had to experience the feeling of dressing like that all day rather than just for 10 minutes.
I think they ddI it in a day is because of Avalon they probably can’t have her for the entire week you know?
The funny thing about their “adult work wardrobe” wouldn’t work in most workplaces let alone school lol
I mean, the clothes in this video are all office appropriate attire
The dress code violation shirt violates the first dress code 😂😂😂
Lord Praxxis I know, right? How are they gonna put a shirt on her that’s shorter than the dress? 😂
Dress code in Scotland: wear your uniform or you're kicked
True sksksksksksks
i love the idea of uniforms kids in secondary school and below should wear uniforms
lol I had uniforms but I moved to Texas

Shoulders? Knees? ErrMahGherd!!! *clutches pearls then faints dead away *
Falcon Girl Sooooooo sexy am I right?
Falcon Girl yup sucks for me
My school's dress code's first rule it:
Don't break the rules.
In the next episode of ladylike Jen and Kristin learn how to use a tape measure
😂😂😂
The principal low-key sounds and acts like Rosanna Pansino. 😂
Jen: “ HiT mE wItH tHeM rUlEs GrL”
My brain just lost at a comedy competition
She's measuring around the knee you have to go from the dress straight down so the "teacher" measured wrong!
"I... kinda dress-"
"Like a butch nun."
*laughing* "Yeah, I kinda dress like a butch nun!"
XDDDDDDDD
The dress length probably moved from 6-7 inches depending on if Kristen was slouched or not! If she bent over a little foreword, it would gain length in the front.
Or what bra she was wearing
I am from Texas and I can confirm our dresscodes are ridiculous.
Boi....ain't it though!
Swag Time at least y’all get to wear your own clothes I pay about $200 in unforms every year
my school doesn't have a dress code I like in Houston Texas
Charley Rutledge I mean most schools in Texas have uniforms. I was fortunate to be in a district that didn’t.
Queen is my kink same
The whole measuring thing is such a good point though, it depends on the person measuring and that kind of stuff. Fabric can be pretty unpredictable sometimes and measure as longer in the morning and a lil shorter later in the day
