LOVEBITES...... my favourite right now and in my all time top 5. Quick tally possibly 14 Japanese all female rock and metal bands in this list. What are they putting in the water in Japan????
Today I'd say that for metal you have Lovebites and Nemophila and for rock you have Band Maid and The Warning. Traditional European and American hard rock and metal is lagging behind.
Thanks so much for listing all these great bands here. Band-Maid is my favorite Hard Rock group because their live performances are electric and their over 120 original songs over ten years are all awesomely great. They have toured the US, Mexico, Europe and the Far East to sold-out shows. Their music has been featured in several Anime productions and they were invited for a cameo role in the Netflix movie "Kate." Their numerous music videos are all extremely well done and have been viewed by millions. Band-Maid's latest video release "Hate?" was filmed during their live concert at Japan's Yokohama Arena last November 2023 and is an incredible display of their sheer musical talent and amazing stage presence.
Band Maid is my favorite all female band (and one of my favorites regardless of gender). The Warning is right there too. For my money they’re both rocking more than any all-male groups at the moment.
@@BelgianJasperThat’s hard to answer. Sayonakidori from the Unseen World album came to mind first, so I’ll go with that. That whole album is amazing though.

The standouts for me at the moment are Band-Maid, Gacharic Spin (you listed their side-project Doll$boxx), Lovebites, Nemophila, Bridear, and I could list another twenty Japanese bands, but from other countries, Voice of Baceprot, Black Widows and DIH seriously impress me. And I'd certainly enjoy if Band-Maid and The Warning manage to sync their schedules to do the joint show they said they'd like to do. The standard has gone up so much over the last 10 or 15 years, but it's important to acknowledge the legends and I'm glad you did that, especially Show-Ya.
Show-Ya and others paved the way! Thanks for sharing! Amazing to see all the Japanese talent these days, feel free to list more bands we should check out 👊
Who is my favorite? Probably the entire Japanese scene! LOVEBITES, Nemophila, Hanabie, Band-Maid, Fate Gear, Bridear, Hagane, Trident, Aldious, Doll$boxx, Edge of Eden, Show-ya, even the now-defunct ones like Mary's Blood, Disqualia and Destrose. A few more from Japan that you didn't mention: Lonesome Blue, Broken by the Scream, Gacharic Spin, East of Eden, Passcode, and BABYMETAL, though the latter two are vocal-and-dance groups that use heavy metal backing bands but don't actually play the instruments themselves. Stepping outside of Japan, I also love Voice of Baceprot from Indonesia, the Warning from Mexico, Burning Witches from Switzerland, and some of the old-school bands I grew up on, like Girlschool, Rock Goddess, Vixen, the Bangles, Phantom Blue, and the Runaways/Lita/Joan.
two bands in the list Destrose and Marys Blood has spurned numerous active bands now Lomesome Blue,Nemophilia,Lovenites, and several others the quality of talent in Japan music is just level ahead of most countries right now
Great list, all my favorites represented with the glaring exception of Gacharic Spin (how you included their side project Doll$boxx and forgot them is beyond me). Many on the list I've seen live including Nemophila, Meanstreak, Plush, The Warning, Hanabie, Band Maid, Voice of Baceprot, and come September Lovebites.
I think it's because the product of Doll$Boxx, as much as it was an afterthought, was just so great. You have Hana still banging the drums while vocalizing, and the lead singer is right out front, too. The song, Loud Twin Stars is by itself the best single product of the whole combo of bands. But yeah, if you have 100 all-female bands and can't find one of at least 80 of those to knock off for Gacharic Spin, you've likely found a chip in the list. Gacharic Spin, with the bassist, drummer, vocal harmonies and keyboard are packed with talent that put most on the list to shame. We have to give some slack for the great effort, which was fun and pretty inclusive.
I would also have been hesitant to add them to this list. Yes, Gacharic Spin plays metal and rock, but their repertoire goes way beyond that... so much so that I haven't yet managed to qualify the musical genre of "Replica" and "Mind Set".😳👍 Do you have an idea of it? Have they invented a new genre?
Lovebites is not only my favorite female band, but also my favorite band of all time. Gacharic Spin, Rolling Quartz, DIH, Aliz, Fleur!, Paradoxx, East of Eden, Lonesome Blue, Koiai, Cyntia, Paranoid Void, Ark Royal are some more examples of female rock/metal bands.
Great list. Before I watched the video I had assumed (makes an ASS out of U and Me) that like a lot of western media etc the Japanese scene would be ignored. It was the Japanese scene that got me back into listening to rock and metal again after a few decades of being dissillusioned. So good on you especially including Show-Ya probably the grandmothers of the all female rock bands in Japan and Destrose from which the members spread out and germinated great bands. You also had quite a lot of my favourites in the list such as Band-Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila, Doll$boxx.. Bute yeh Gacharic Spin need tobe in there.
Great research work, and wonderful to see so many Japanese bands on this list(Lovebites & Aldious are my favourites) Good to see Dogma(S. America ?) there also. Rolling Quartz (Fearless now has 3.3 million views) should be there also.

BAND-MAID has reached a level of excellence where few bands, all female or not, have reached. The Warning, Lovebites and Nemophilia are special bands as well. Plush & Rolling Quartz pretty good, too. Amazing list 🤘 I maybe knew of half of them, or not even that 😅 You gave me plenty of suggestions to check out. Of the ones I knew already, I regularly listen to The Warning, Hanabie, Band-Maid, Nervosa and Cobra Spell.
@@BelgianJasper First of all, stupid me forgot to mention Conquer Divide in my earlier comment (they released one of my favourite albums of the year 2023!) I'm looking forward to finding out more about Blackthorn, Frantic Amber, Hellfox and a lot more 🤘
Great list! I still remember the Liverbirds and Fanny, who appeared in the famous Beat Club on our local TV station here in Germany when I was a kid. Since then I collected some female bands (and female fronted) like The Runaways and The Donnas for example. Since six years I am deep into the Japanese Rock and Metal Scene, so I'm happy that there are some bands I've already saw in Europe and Japan. Fun fact: on my shelf the BAND-MAID LPs are located between Bananarama and The Bangles.
Great collection of all female bands. The Warning has become my all time favorite. So sad you didn't include The Sixsters, from the Ukraine. They are great!!
Probably missing out some more bands. - SCANDAL (Guinness Record holding band for longest active girls band with original members) - Princess Princess (Japanese Pop-Rock band from the ‘80s) - Gacharic Spin - Rolling Quartz (Rock band from Korea)
There are four bands on this list who stand out among all the rest and are as good or better than their male competition - LOVEBITES, The Warning, Band Maid, and Nemophila.
You got very good taste my good sir! @BelgianJasper fifth band? I'm very into the japanese way of blending styles and different approach. Trident and Doll$boxx/Gacharic Spin?
@user-is8gl7dq1u there songs aren't very good.. dull/boring not my thing, and no, the rhythm section is good, the best no...sorry i know this goes against, band maid dogma. but oh well
@user-is8gl7dq1uI think exactly the contrary! Lovebites is on an unearthly talent level. The warning is now the best female hard rock band, by far. I prefer Pau instead of Po! Nemophila, hanabie and voice of baceprot are the rest of the list.
Band-Maid is #1, my other favorites are Trident and Hagane. Sadly there has been no news on Hagane since they lost 3 members last year and said they were going to continue and were holding audtions. Sakura is just playing shows with falcom jdk band, I hope they can return but at this point I am pretty skeptical.
The Warning! There have been so many, and what a great list you've compiled! I'm 59 now, and always been into the Punk/Metal/Rock scene, still own a lot of all female bands tracks - Crucified Barbara, Rolling Quartz (not in the list), Conquer Divide, glad to see Plush in there (great Man in a Box cover - Alice in Chains) but these days, The Warning hit the mark, musically and lyrically - btw. The Warning just released a couple of new tracks this week (ready for the tour, and new album out in June). xx
@@BelgianJasper I like them ... more 'Produced' I think than the last albums/songs, but to be expected as they get bigger I suppose. I have a ticket to see them April 21st in Birmingham, UK, which I'm really looking forward to - going alone, but I'm a very sociable guy - so I always meet people andl have fun anyway!!! Thanks again for the list, a lot of work compiling that I bet? ❤👍
@@Wishi13 I agree they are more produced and for me a bit of mixed results. My opinion only, More and a bit of a lesser extent SICK!, I was not a big fan of those new songs from their upcoming album but HYCAD and now Automatic Sun...Amazing! The good news, for the new album is that when they play the songs live, that over production disappears, and the songs improve. Just take HYCAD as an example, their lyric video was good, the official Live release was spectacular! I saw The Warning live last October and they were sensational. Amazing stage presence and engages the crowd really well. I hope you enjoy the show as much as I did.
Today 04/04/2024, band # 57 Conquer II divide begins opening for band # 61 The Warning on their European tour. Then in June 12, 2024 bands # 61 The Warning and # 55 Band Maid play together in Tokyo.
Great list, many I didn't know about and will check out. The big one you missed from the 90's is Babes In Toyland. There's loads from Japan, one from Korea (Rolling Quartz), and a few from Australia (Glitoris, Downgirl, Boysclub, The Buoys, Voiid and Teen Jesus & the Jean Teasers).
Great list! Some bands I need to check out. My favorite is Band-Maid. Was looking for Catholic Girls or the Skirts to make the list, but not necessarily surprised that they didn't. Lots of good bands out there.
@@BelgianJasper The Catholic Girls are a pop-rock band roughly comparable/contemporary to the Go Go's, they released an album in 1982 I think, but eventually broke up. They reformed in their later years and have been active since and released a handful of additional albums/EPs. For their old stuff, Boys Can Cry is fun, for newer stuff Should Have Been Mine is pretty good. For the Skirts, a band I'd say is also similar to Go Go's or Bangles, I'm not sure any actual videos exist on UA-cam but Snapshot seems to be their biggest hit, but I really like songs off their third and last CD especially Strange. Another I really like, more recent band, is Hoity Toity - Hindrance. Another Japanese metal band that broke up in 2018, Telecide - Cycle of Addiction is really good.
Two of my favorite new all female bands and you put them right next to each other. The Warning and The Beaches. I'm from the U.S. and the bands are from Mexico and Canada.😂
Well this is refreshing. A real list of world wide remale rock bands. Almost every list i have seen up until now ignores Japan. There is probably 100 female bands just from Japan. Also i have seen some commentors mention Rolling Quartz from Korea. Love them. Seen them live 11 times and have seen over 25 Japanese bands live. They all excell live. Videos do not do them justice. Bands like Band Maid and Nemophila need to be seen live.
Awesome for sharing that! Yes, Rock and Metal is definitely a global affair and more and more Asian female bands are popping up and impressing us! What other bands would you recommend?
@@BelgianJasper sure a couple suggestions would be DIH from Korea and East if Eden and Lonesome blue are a couple from Japan. One the things Japanese do that some western fans have trouble with is genre blending. They are experts at it. All comes down to personal taste.
My favorite on the list: Band-Maid! My favorite NOT on the list: Shonen Knife! The earliest band on this list I remember hearing as a child: The Bangles! There are definitely a few on here I need to explore.
Great list of bands, and I’m happy there’s some I never heard of and I have to go check out. There are many not included that warrants another list. I won’t mention all the great Japanese acts that others have mentioned. But there are a few of my favorites I either didn’t see or missed in your list: The Like, Lunachicks, The Plasticines, Sleater-Kinney, Drain STH, Betty Blowtorch, Cycle Sluts From Hell and Bratmobile. Even Haim deserves a shoutout. FYI Band-Maid is my fave of them all
This was interesting, a few new bands for me to check out. I've could have added a few more to your list, especially from Japan, but then it wouldn't be 100 bands anymore. Still you got most if my favorites
I'm glad Dogma made it and I'm glad all those great Japanese bands were included but I was just about to write you a stern comment about omitting NEMOPHILA but there there were towards the end. Unfortunately it was a very small sample and they are by miles the best band in this compilation and infact the world right now. Also glad BAND-MAID were included they are not metal or even hard rock they are just rock but they are the best rock band in the world nothing else is even close.
Great list! Here are a bunch more: Shonen Knife, Babes In Toyland, Scandal, Toranoko Rammy (虎の子ラミー), exist†trace, Bad Cop/Bad Cop, TsuShiMaMiRe, Yellow Machinegun, SUPER JUNKY MONKEY, Little Lilith, RAISE A SUILEN, Ave Mujica, Tokyo Syoki Syodo (東京初期衝動), LETITOUT-lelia-, The Tomboys, komsume
Merci beaucoup pour cette belle initiative, tres bonne idée! Je connais pas mal de ces groupes mais j en découvre beaucoup aussi,je vais approfondir, merci!
LOVEBITES is at the top of the group. They are phenomenal. Lovebites won the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. M&M on guitar always put on a show - as good as Tipton and Downing, Murray and Smith, Li and Totman, etc.
SSS is ultimate metal song. Asami-san the singer composed A Frozen Serenade & Epilogue etc、、. She is amazing song writer. And Glory to the world has a purifying effect on the mind‼️.
Such wonderful bands. All female bands are pretty incredible at this moment in history and as good or in some cases much better than their male counterparts - imho. My favorite all female band is Band-Maid - just a world class, unique, and incredible band (don't care where they're from, what language they sing in, how they dress - I'm all about the music). My next favorite is probably The Warning. Both of these bands ooze talent, and have a gift for songwriting (and are genuine fans of each other!). It's a good time again for rock lovers to be alive.
@@DaElfer I did not realize there are two different bands under the name of Scandal. The one I was thinking about had Patty Smyth (who happens to be married to John McEnroe) as the lead singer back in the '80s (I know I am daying myself...)
@@tomland9293 lol. i was born in the 70's so I've got some years on me too. hehehe. i also didn't know there was another scandal... the one you're referring to.
Great video! I have to check out a lot of these bands!! I'd definitely add Gacharic Spin who are the top female band at the moment, in my opinion. But Doll$boxx are there, so ... I have a few other recommendations: Little Lilith, PaleNeØ, KOIAI, Risky Melody, East of Eden, STMLT, Killt Melt Land, Faulieu, Pinkish Crown, HADES, Lonesome_Blue, Muses, LUMiRiSE, ArkRoyal, Cran Arcanaria, exist trace, Valkyrie Zero, Scandal, BRATS, Sirius, Empress, FullMooN. OK, some of them have not unfolded their full potential yet, but I did not want to exclude. They are definitely all worth checking out.
Hahaha I forgot about Meanstreak! I dig how you didn't even attempt to go best/less best here, good job. The Warning and Band Maid are nice, Plush has some serious potential, whatever I love seeing the ladies rock
Gender shouldn't matter, but with this list we just wanted to remind everyone what a wealth of female talent there is (as it is still often overlooked) 🤷♂️ amazing to see so many comments with even more bands to add to the list!
Good job recognizing Japan so much! This was a surprisingly broad lisr, most of these things ignore the East but hell you even have VOB on here lol. Kudos!
This was a really good list! You got all my favorites: Girlschool, Thundermother, Hysterica, Crucified Barbara, Vixen, Hellcats, Burning Witches, Dogma, and of course, the Warning. 😃 The only one you forgot was Colombia's own, Highway.
@@BelgianJasper Wow--quick response! My favorite songs by Highway are Solo Para Resister, Viajero Sin Tiempo, and the song which got me into them, Una Oportunidad.🤘
my list includes loads of Japanese bands* as well as others from around the world, nice to see some of them in the video, even though i have been a metal head for over 30 years even i missed some of these groups....my collection is to big as it is :P my list of all female bands in my collection-phantom blue, hellcats, vixen, Show-ya*, Bridear*, pink sapphire*, Galmet*, Fate gear*, aliz, rolling quartz, fullmoon*, rie aka suzaku*, the great Kat, I am also going to show some love for the iconic female fronted bands-aikawa nanase*, waggaki band*, go!go!7188*, the brilliant green/tommi heavenly*, lacuna coil, tristania, sirenia, fatima hill*, Onmyo-za*, nightwish, yousei teikoku (fairly kingdom)*, the pretty reckless, hailstorm, babymetal*, arch enemy....that's off the top of my head.
Great selection of all-female rock/metal bands. There was only one that didn't make your list that I think you'd appreciate - SUPER JUNKY MONKEY from the 90's. Just for your own satisfaction, give them a listen. Thank you for your post. Awesome music and groups.
@@BelgianJasper - thanks for asking. There are a few but, the first song I heard by SUPER JUNKY MONKEY was Buckin' the Bolts. ua-cam.com/video/di9GKV6ngSg/v-deo.html
I am so glad that someone finally understands that baby Metal is not an ALL female band all the musicians in the back are MALE. Band members actually busted their asses practicing for years and learned their instrument with countless hours of practice and musical classes .Theres also the process of lyrics, music producing ,theory understanding equipment so they can have a distinct sound.Talented musicians are to be appreciated.
You forgot Lunachicks!!!! And Tribe 8. But thank you for creating this, I’ve just made myself a playlist out of a lot of the bands here to get a better listen when I’m at work :-)
Hard to come up with a favorite, but my top 5 are; Band-Maid, Nemophila, Doll$Boxx, Aldious, and Bridear. The Warning and Gacharic Spin are just off the list. Missing out on seeing Band-Maid live in 2022 is perhaps my biggest regret so far.
Nice list, glad you mentioned so many Japanese bands aswell. Rolling Quartz from South Korea and Aliz from Thailand should be up there too, they're both amazing and Telecide the former band of Bridear's drummer Natsumi.

Maidiac first, so glad Band-Maid is on this list, but I agree with many on the list. And will have to check out the one's I haven't listened to yet. Really good bands from East to West included.

In the US there was already a band named drain. So they went with Drain STH. The rest of the world, they're just Drain. Like 'little Cindy Lou Who' did with The Pretty Reckless.
Doll$Box was there, I find Gacharic Spin a kind of jazz-soul-ecperimental and guitar solos often rock. The kind of rock you choose wouldn't show them, but they should be known

Fun fact: on my shelf the BAND-MAID LPs are located between Bananarama and The Bangles.
That's awesome! Bananarama was so fun too!
Great collection of all female bands. The Warning has become my all time favorite. So sad you didn't include The Sixsters, from the Ukraine. They are great!!
Will check them out! What song do you recommend?
@@BelgianJasper Most anything they have done there like the Warning very creative and diverse they will surprise you !!!!
The Warning, thats all i need, great list tho, thanks for sharing
Any new discoveries for you!? 👊
Probably missing out some more bands.
- SCANDAL (Guinness Record holding band for longest active girls band with original members)
- Princess Princess (Japanese Pop-Rock band from the ‘80s)
- Gacharic Spin
- Rolling Quartz (Rock band from Korea)
There are four bands on this list who stand out among all the rest and are as good or better than their male competition - LOVEBITES, The Warning, Band Maid, and Nemophila.
If you had to add a fifth band to that list, which one would it be?
@user-is8gl7dq1u Band-Maid play very standard rock music lol. There is nothing unique about it.
Lovebites Rules! Also The Warning and Band Maid in top group. You forgot at least 100 more.
We'll need a second list!!
Good to see The Warning and Plush on here!
Show-ya, Destrose, Aldious, Mary's Blood, Bridear, Doll$box, Band-Maid, Disqualia, Fate Gear, Hanabie, Lovebites, Hagane, Nemophila, Trident..
🤘🤘❤❤
The Warning! There have been so many, and what a great list you've compiled! I'm 59 now, and always been into the Punk/Metal/Rock scene, still own a lot of all female bands tracks - Crucified Barbara, Rolling Quartz (not in the list), Conquer Divide, glad to see Plush in there (great Man in a Box cover - Alice in Chains) but these days, The Warning hit the mark, musically and lyrically - btw. The Warning just released a couple of new tracks this week (ready for the tour, and new album out in June). xx
Glad you like the list! What do you think of the new The Warning songs?
@@BelgianJasper I like them ... more 'Produced' I think than the last albums/songs, but to be expected as they get bigger I suppose. I have a ticket to see them April 21st in Birmingham, UK, which I'm really looking forward to - going alone, but I'm a very sociable guy - so I always meet people andl have fun anyway!!! Thanks again for the list, a lot of work compiling that I bet? ❤👍
@@Wishi13 haha the most work is deciding which 100 bands/songs to include... The list has changed many times before the editing started 😅😅😅
@@BelgianJasper I can believe it!!! That's why I know how much work would be involved (especially if you're as indecisive as me!!!) 😂😂😂
@@Wishi13 I agree they are more produced and for me a bit of mixed results.
I'm all about the Warning right now, but there is another you didn't mention, The Sixsters originally from Ukraine, check them out.
I am a Maidiac first and foremost but I was so glad that you included Voice of Bacophet on the list! Great content!
Me too, great VOB
Hail Voice of Baceprot

If you had to choose 1 Band Maid and 1 Voice of Bachelor song... Which would they be?

Today 04/04/2024, band # 57 Conquer II divide begins opening for band # 61 The Warning on their European tour. Then in June 12, 2024 bands # 61 The Warning and # 55 Band Maid play together in Tokyo.
🤘🤘🤘
Great list, many I didn't know about and will check out. The big one you missed from the 90's is Babes In Toyland. There's loads from Japan, one from Korea (Rolling Quartz), and a few from Australia (Glitoris, Downgirl, Boysclub, The Buoys, Voiid and Teen Jesus & the Jean Teasers).
Thanks for sharing!
Im here for The Warning first and foremost! The other bands i support but really dont follow much. 🤘😁👍
Great list! Some bands I need to check out. My favorite is Band-Maid. Was looking for Catholic Girls or the Skirts to make the list, but not necessarily surprised that they didn't. Lots of good bands out there.
Will check them out!! Any song recommendations?
@@vanellopemint awesome info! Will check them out 👍
Two of my favorite new all female bands and you put them right next to each other. The Warning and The Beaches. I'm from the U.S. and the bands are from Mexico and Canada.😂
You're surrounded by greatness 😉 🇨🇦🇲🇽
@@Derekcstevenson awesome! Will check them out 👊
I'm jealous.
Band-Maid! 😎🤘
Their upcoming concert with The Warning will be epic!
My favorite on the list: Band-Maid!
My favorite NOT on the list: Shonen Knife!
The earliest band on this list I remember hearing as a child: The Bangles!
There are definitely a few on here I need to explore.
Yep.Why wasn't Shonen Knife here. They are what got me to explore all female bands from Japan.
Nice sélection! My fav are The Donnas, Sahara Hotnights, Plush and The Warning❤ I’d add to this list Shonen Knife and Rolling Quartz
🤘🤘🤘🤘
Que bueno que esté mi banda favorita de todos los tiempos, LOVEBITES, ojalá vengan a sudamérica alguna vez. Up the WolfPack!!!
Glad to see Destrose in the list. Their alumni created, or are members of , many of current great J-metal bands.
Pioneers that paved the way for a new generation for sure! What's your favorite Destrose song?
Great list of bands, and I’m happy there’s some I never heard of and I have to go check out. There are many not included that warrants another list. I won’t mention all the great Japanese acts that others have mentioned. But there are a few of my favorites I either didn’t see or missed in your list: The Like, Lunachicks, The Plasticines, Sleater-Kinney, Drain STH, Betty Blowtorch, Cycle Sluts From Hell and Bratmobile. Even Haim deserves a shoutout.
FYI Band-Maid is my fave of them all
Thanks for the suggestions!
As of December 2019 my favorite band is Band Maid. I flew from Wisconsin to Dallas in 2022 to wish Miku a happy birthday.
This was interesting, a few new bands for me to check out.
I've could have added a few more to your list, especially from Japan, but then it wouldn't be 100 bands anymore.
Still you got most if my favorites
Second list will come 😉
The Warning, Band Maid, Plush 🪨🤘
My list exactly. Nice.
What are 3 bands I have seen live in concert.
I'd add The Slits, Babes In Toyland, The Like, Ragana, The Big Moon. Thanks for the effort.
I love your passion 👊😉 the list is in chronological order based roughly on the band's founding or first release
great list, great job
for me the best band in the world is LOVEBITES no matter what genre, and Japan is the country with the best female bands
There's definitely a big amount of Japanese bands in this list already and we're just scratching the surface 💪
Hanabie, Lovebites, BAND-MAID 🤘🤘 aber leider waren Babymetal nicht mit dabei und East of Eden.
Babymetal isn't all female! Maybe East of Eden will show up in the next list ;)

Love Bites
LOVEBITES is at the top of the group. They are phenomenal. Lovebites won the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. M&M on guitar always put on a show - as good as Tipton and Downing, Murray and Smith, Li and Totman, etc.
What's your favorite Lovebites song!?
Soldier Stands Solitarily or A Frozen serenade - two songs that are very different from each other.@@BelgianJasper

@@赤井臣也 the guitar solos in Glory to the World might be my favorite by Lovebites 🤔
Band maid!!! Thank you for going global. Was scandal too poppy for the list? Or just too many to fit in top 100
I don't think Scandal is all-female.
