    A few of the sas guys back home were on about how boring it could be and how disciplined you had to be as a sniper. They could spend days laying in the same spot, pissing and shitting almost on the spot, watching everybody, just waiting for the right target. Sounded extraordinarily hard.

These dudes are on top of their shit. We trained out to 6-800yds, but the majority of LE shots are under 100yds. It's mostly Intel gathering and your eyes and brain hurting. A former Ranger I know - who claimed to have worked for Dynacorp in Iraq, claims that the sniper in that video years ago with the BW dudes on the roof in Najaf (Travis) had 250 confirmed that day. I had asked him his thoughts, not knowing that he knew they guy, how many people he thinks that guy popped given the comment they made "holy shit, its a turkey shoot" and he squeezed off a lot of rounds in that video so I can't say it isn't a possibility but damn.....Not a boring sniper mission that day to be sure.

    • @oskar6661
      @oskar6661 Рік тому +11

      250 confirmed would be...pretty special. However, that's not necessarily a sniper mission. Haley was using an SPR (basically a DMR rifle) and essentially engaging entire crowds of fighters. I believe there were some 1,500-2,000 fighters attacking that compound in Najaf that day. I have no doubt Haley and company did some serious work, even if 250 is a little questionable. Those guys in that kind of situation aren't tallying it up and keeping track.

    If they told the hotel staff ahead of time, isn't that a big security risk?
