Hello ma'am, I'm a human resource management trainee at IFORTIS WORLDWIDE I started my recruitment process for marketing and sales intern. I posted a job on LinkedIn and i have got few job applications in which there are highly experienced Candidates had also applied. Their experiences are like 11 years of experience in marketing as a manager. So i texted him "I wonder why you wanna apply for this position?" He replied he wants to shift for digital marketing. But I'm feeling a bit nervous to take his interview coz I'm just an HRM trainee and I'm afraid of what questions he might ask me in the interview. And I don't even know wether I should take interviews of overqualified candidates Or not. Please assess me. What I suppose to do.
Hello dear 😊 Interesting situation & well explained. This is the most common problem we as freshers have faced at some point of time. No worries. I can share few tips : 1) Read his CV again to know about his experience. 2) If possible, write down briefings about his profile. It will make clarity in your mind regarding his profile. 3) Read JD carefully (the one you are hiring for). 4) Try to match his experience with your JD profile. 5) Since you have done enough working, now speak to your manager for guidance on this profile & interview. Manager will ask several questions regarding the profile which can be easily answered by you & you could understand actions to be taken. These are practical, tried & tested ways to handle such kind of situations & learning for future. Do not hesitate to ask your seniors. Hope it will be helpful for you. Keep sharing.
