I had the procedure three years ago, with a 60 cm prostate. My doctor put me under general anesthesia for the procedure with a 24-hour catheter afterward. The catheter was uncomfortable...not particularly painful, but uncomfortable, and I went home the same day. For the next week, I had to stay close to the bathroom, because I had very little holding control when the urge to urinate hit (although I never urinated in bed...I actually began sleeping longer right away). No travelling that first week. For about another two weeks I had to make sure I knew where the closest restroom was. It took about two months before I re-learned how to hold myself reliably. But since then, the results have been wonderful, and I'm fully satisfied. My doctor has me come in every six months to check things out, but it's all good.

Just had the procedure yesterday, in the hospital under general anesthesia. It was perfect. I was out for a total of 25 minutes. Anticipatory tension and comfort level was a non-issue. After I woke up, I had a bit of pain for about 30 minutes. The catheter was taken out in Recovery, I urinated and was discharged. I slept well last night and today feel practically 100%. By this morning, all traces of blood in the urine were gone.
I was very happy it was NOT done in the office under local anesthesia.

1.5 months out. Usually wake up once but sleep 8 hours about 2 nights a week. Previously always got up 3 times minimum. Doc used fentanyl and propofol. First 4 days following was awful. Now fine and glad I did it.

Thanks Doctor Hyman for showing the urolift procedure. I am schedule for prostatic urolift next 2 weeks. I am little nervous for it's my first time. I am praying for my Doctor and his assistant to make this procedure successful. Thank you and God bless you on your given skills and talents.

I had that procedure, the nitous oxide and lidocaine didn't make the poke of needle pain free. The pinch that didn't go away for 6 months until I got tadilafil to shrink my prostrate. If I had to do it again I'm going to try PAE! I sure as he'll won't do REZUM OR TURP!!!

Urolift lasted for only two years( was hoping for five or even ten). Tried to talk to them but they refused to talk to me.

Had this done November 2021 and I got no relief and I now get up even more during the night to urinate. I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROCEDURE!!! 👎

I had this procedure done in December of 2023 after being talked into it by my Dr. There were so many things wrong I could write a book on this. Bottom line, this procedure did not work. The pain during the procedure- with local was extreme. This procedure should never be done with local and laughing gas! There are so many stories where this procedure was
Performed and the clips needed to be fished out using a diff procedure. I just had aquablation where six clips needed to be removed. My advice is get multiple dr opinions.

Have an appointment scheduled for next month but a lot of questions. retrograde ejaculation. And Dr said no 100% guarantee on that one . Some other guys I have spoke to told me it only lasted two years ? So very unsure about having this procedure done

Urolift completely and permanently destroyed my life !!!! Now I am faced with my new urologist wanting to do another surgery (greenlight) to correct to the botched UROLIFT procedure.
I am told I would have to self catheterize everyday possible for the rest of my life. My symptoms now are WORSE than before Urolift. Please be advised and don't say I didn't warn you if you get this procedure !!!!!

Dr Hyman when did you have this procedure done to you? Also you would have to clobber me over the head cause I don’t want or desire to have something shoved up my private. Rather be knocked out. Oh you failed to mention that there are times when the clips fail, ouch 😮. My friend had the procedure in September 2023 and still having problems in the bathroom. 😮

Dude 5.5 is normal size! I would think a long Johnson would make this procedure more difficult
