Robin slowly being eaten by the Venus fly trap cracked me up!! 🤣😂 The build is looking great so far, can't wait to see it finished - looking forward to what other 'Robin' touches you'll add to improve on from the original!!
Botanical Gardens look lovely, I especially the pools and fishes that you can seen through. I'm afraid Robin got in touch with Mother Nature too closely. I'm looking forward to the part 2.
Great video, great build! Look, this is why I come here: even after everybody already completely milked out the standard type of doubling of this building you managed to come with a much better execution. Looking forward for part 2!!
Yeah, it took a while to design as I had to use Studio for the building (new pieces) and LDD for the ponds (as Studio was driving me mad). I then imported the ponds. Studio is clever but arguably too clever for easy use!
Yay botanic gardens has started! 👍 I like the 2 ponds and definitely better to keep it to 1 side. You have turned it into a modular now 😆. It’s goings to look great with the 2 long building sections. On the red temple could there be a bird or something on the top?🤔 Will they be any more videos as you got eaten in that plant it even coughed the skeleton out!😂🤣 A little horrible but funny.😁 JJ F
Robin, love that you're going the route of doing a custom build with this set (or 2 of them)! I definitely feel it's ripe for a moc build! A friend of mine is working on a similar project so I appreciate seeing how yours ends up !
Fantastic!!! I love that you are doing this set!!! It doesn't matter a lot of people already MOD it! We love to see you doing it!!!! Most beautiful set of last year!!!! Looking forward to see part 2!!!!
Maybe grills or pipe ends could be put on the standing hole side to suggest that there is some water connection going in that direction. Or maybe there could be a glass floor or mini bridge over a thin water flow going between the ponds in the hall part? The red and black of the pagoda is really good against the pale colors of the building.
Great creativity, Robin! Can’t wait to see how things develop further. Me personally would change the color of the plates below the fountain to blue or so, just to give the „water“ I bit more opaque color, matching the color of the ponds. Imho, the tan being visible below the tiles is reducing the otherwise good effect…
It was ok on one side but I see what you mean on the other. I may forget to mention it but include yourself on any Badoiings getting handed out. Thanks!
well done robin. This is was my first Friends set. You said it really well, you don't see the minidolls as the set is amazing. I am sure I will have to rebuild my MOC once I see what you do!! Looking forward to part 2.
If I may suggest an amendment: the lady feeding the birds, instead of her holding just plain white bricks, perhaps exchange those for a bag in one hand and a cookie like stud in the other? The chocolate chip one since it has those dark spots which in this case could be seeds? It would make better sense of what she's doing.
Hello Robin ! Great build, as always !! In my botanical garden, I've changed the color of the border around the plants inside for white, instead of that flashy pink. You maybe should try, it looks completely different. It fits with the building color & make the flowers really pop !
I love the look of this set. Like others here I don't care how late you are, your modification will be the best. Looking forward to watching part 2 now (I'm late to the video 😀).
This is looking great. Would love to see a scene where Robin or another minifig has been eaten by a carnivorous plant hehe. I remember tthat the fun fair also has that carnivorous ride…maybe you link them p with a story or build? 😊
Hopefully that skeleton by the carnivorous plant is not Robin, but he miraculously escaped it's clutches or was saved last minute by the merry men (and women)!
very nice, as usual. just a little suggestion for the small "temple" on the side: they usually have some of the structural elements visible below the roof, which in this case would probably take the shape of a 4x4 with a 2x2 hole in the middle situated roughly one brick away under the roof (if you see what I mean).
some good inspo for a very city centre orientated tropical type gardens is the sheffield peace/winter gardens! Its right in the city centre so i feel would be gret infor for what youre doing
with the koi can you put a clear or blue stud under to lift them up closer to the top of the water, not all of them but one or two so they are at different depths. thats if you have the room to do it.
@@RobinHoodBricks Her late Majesty Queen Victoria shall haunt you from the grave unless you build it. 😜 It would've been very interesting to see you build a world exhibition though.
You done it again Robin! This is absolutely beautiful! Did you happen to design this in Studio? I really love the ponds with the fish and those cute little ducks. I went and found some on bricklink 😂. I'm hoping Friday you will continue with part 2. Fantastic job as always my friend.
I had to design the building in Studio due to the number of new parts but the ponds were done on LDD for my sanity and then transferred in. Studio is very clever but super annoying at fiddly spaces where everything is connected in unusual ways!
I thought the same thing. Bought 2 but there is a few parts that u still have to get to complete it. I have em in my Bricklink wanted list but haven't got em yet
Think Duplo palm would be great under the sea, if you have room for it! Btw, have you given any more thought to my challenge to bild an under the sea crawly using that torso SW piece I sent in?
I think you have very good ideas. I want to build a city too. Why not build an battle between aliens and human, or you can't do that ? tell me if you agree.
I took a picture at work of something ssp related, not sure what they are doing in the US. but I'm not sure how to send it to you. Just thought you might get a kick out of it.

You and me both!
Oh my word. I just noticed this!
It doesn't matter that you are "late to the show" still love to see your combination/modification of this set!
So late it's almost interesting again!
He’s never late. He’s right on time
Botanical Gardens look lovely, I especially the pools and fishes that you can seen through. I'm afraid Robin got in touch with Mother Nature too closely. I'm looking forward to the part 2.
That's where he went!
Great build Robin! I have an idea for a scene: You can put there some guy who has fallen into a duck pond!
Very tranquil!
it's no wonder as to why LEGO keeps borrowing your ideas. Fab ❤
Haha, yes indeed. Hard to prove but very suspicious!
Great video, great build!

That's as close as I'm gonna get to stop-motion, haha!
It's a great set, I have 2 also. I haven't combined them yet, but they still look amazing!
You'll need a surprising amount of extra bits!
Great 👍👍
Much appreciated!
All I can think of this build is the Venus fly trap! "Feed me Seymour feed me"
We're the same there, haha!
I’ve been looking forward to this build, really like the direction it’s heading!! 🎉
Me too!
Nice
Thanks very much!
Robin, love that you're going the route of doing a custom build with this set (or 2 of them)! I definitely feel it's ripe for a moc build! A friend of mine is working on a similar project so I appreciate seeing how yours ends up !
Yeah it's a complete rebuild but the building part will look fairly similar. But that's a good thing, I think!
Fantastic video sir - thankyou
Possibly too much talking but I like to share my process!
Fantastic!!! I love that you are doing this set!!! It doesn't matter a lot of people already MOD it! We love to see you doing it!!!! Most beautiful set of last year!!!! Looking forward to see part 2!!!!
Yeah, it's a cracker!
Just lovely as usual, and I hope for our sakes part 2 includes a new Robin!
He's growing his skin back. Silly Robin!

Yes, the red really pops. I'm not sure the interior has enough space by half!
The giant Duplo leaf piece would be great breaking out the top or side of a botanist's lab build or genius villain hideout. Science run amok!
gonna end up with a Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy situation with mutant plants and crazy vines
It could be good as the base of a very intricate Poison Ivy mutant plant mass!
It looks amazing. I always love to see what you come up to. So inspiring
Thank you so much!
Beautiful ❤️, looks real nice 👌✨👏🐱🐈👍 one little note, you shouldn't feed ducks bread... 😅
We feed ours oats. They seem to like that!
@@RobinHoodBricks I heard they like frozen peas... Not sure if that's true... 🤔🤨
poor robin, the build looks fantastic
Thanks. Have you seen him?!
Great video Robin! I’ve got my sets, but was waiting to see your build for inspo. Top tier 💐
Well I really hope you enjoy the finished article!
Beautiful! Can’t wait till see part 2 ❤
Coming soon I hope!
Great job
Cheers!
Yes natur 🌲🌴🌳
Beautiful isn't it!
The duck pond and fountain gate are amazing!
Much appreciated!
The minis racing by are what caused the bright tree to drop it's blossoms!
Neeeeeoooow!

I hope you like the whole thing. The ponds were the trickiest part but the nicest view!

The chocolate chip one since it has those dark spots which in this case could be seeds? It would make better sense of what she's doing.
Seeds or oats, yes. Much more healthy!
Looking good! I’m excited!
Glad to hear it!

Sounds like an idea. I'll have to see what other colours I have enough of!
Looking great. I feel bad for the poor guy who has to clean up after your carnivorous plant!😮
That would be me, haha!

Yup, it's a plant bud shape now!

Wow, this is already looking phenomenal. I might have to do a similar version of this build in my layout!
Go for it. It's a beautiful set!
Looks fantastic.
Yes, it's a good start!

It would be cool to see you make a small skatepark!
That is on the looooing list, and had been forever. I really should!
I had to watch the video again to find out what happened to Robin, 😭 poor Robin. I almost missed it👌😹😸🐈👍
❤ This is an amazing build. Thanks for all your hard work as always.
My pleasure!

Whoops, got to this a little too late for part 2. I guess that's possible. It might be quite a subtle change. Maybe I'll try it later!
Thanks!
Wow, thank you so much. Very generous indeed!
Maybe from the bus station you could have some type of pagoda walk why from there to the Botanical garden? 🤔
That might be nice!
You should put some frogs on the lake without ducks...
Good call. I'll use the lime ones that came with the sets!
Excellent start Robin, this is pretty much a MOC based on the set. I really love it!
Where did Robin go? Hmmm...
Yes, everything is changed, although it will look very similar to the untrained eye!
Poor Robin!
Have you seen him? I found his Badoiing buzzer!
I feel like the mario piranha plant should replace the big tree in the middle
I did consider a Venus Fly Trap tree but those pieces are hard to get. One will make it in anyway!
You should swap out one of the ducks for a bright yellow.
A rubber one? Oooh a duckling!
Speaking of Victorian engineering, what about a crystal palace in Brick Nottingham 2.0?
A bit similar to this for diversity. Also 2.0 will be bigger but not warehouse levels or anything!
@@RobinHoodBricks Her late Majesty Queen Victoria shall haunt you from the grave unless you build it. 😜
It would've been very interesting to see you build a world exhibition though.
I would add a extra layer of tiles just below the pewch layer on the roof with 1 or two anchor sruds so you can lift the roof to access the interior.
It's such a tiny roof section. Plus the dome won't be strong enough to lift off without ugly thick reinforcement!

Random but will you be selling mugs again in your store? Patented hot tea technique would work better with an authentic Robin Lego mug! Cheers!
I thought I was. Maybe I need to update something!
