everything covered in under five minutes! i love your videos being not too hyper and/or too lecturey boring!
Thats why we’re here thats really cool !
me too
Fantastic ! Also, it seems you can rotate each of these 6 trees. That means there is a total of 2'949'120 variations 😁
Technically the dark green trees seem to be symmetrical in orientation so a bit less, but I’m not smart enough to calculate
@@pretzemilia My guess is they did something like: (6x4) x (5x4) x (4x4) x (3x4) x (2x4) x (1x4), since you start with 6 potential locations for a tree and each can be oriented 4 ways... but there might be something redundant in there I'm not seeing. How did you get 17280?
@@jaredweiss8501 ah I did a dumb and did 4*6 instead of 4^6
My god, you're right!
Bro did the math
The printed koi fish tiles aren't actually exclusive to this set, there are also a few in the Friends Botanical Garden and the Lunar New Year Spring Lantern Festival.
Really looking forward to picking this set up to display next to my Bonsai Tree set. My only real criticism (aside from the price which I wish was just a little cheaper) is that the cherry blossom trees look a bit disappointing. I know to expect some pretty bare-looking trees at this scale as weve already seen it several times before, but it still disappoints me every time.
Beeing a Japanese garden nerd I had to coment, and this may help you... I agree, the pink leaves are an odd choice. These two trees should be Japanese Pine trees and not cherry blossom trees. Not sure if Lego did that at the last minute to add more color to this set but every thing else about them is exactly what you would see with traditional japanese pines in a garden like this.
Perhaps there are options to make the leaves all green or pink but If were you to change them into pine trees the leaves ( or needels) could be a mix of light and dark green.
A bonsai tree is just a way of growing any tree in a pot, not a special variety of tree
A bonsai isn’t a tree
@@PawDieFurand you reach that conclusion based on which fact? Certainly you sustain your affirmation in science so show us your evidence. Maybe you’ll win a Nobel price because your assertion contradicts what’s known about bonsai.
@@PawDieFuris an oak tree as a bonsai not a tree?
@@TheLonet a bonsai isnt a growing small tree. It’s a bush you cut and shape to make it look as a tree. Or it can be a part of a pre existing tree (branch), replanted cut and shaped.
I make bonsais as a hobby bud. The thought that they are just planted trees is nothing but a misconception.
@@Ptbull-sz9me you don’t make a bonsai with the entire oak tree. Only the branch.
If I take and cut a limb off an already standing tree, then plant that limb in the ground, dose that now make that limb a tree?
The best part for me is definitely the minifigure scale. There's so much that can be done with this sort of sizing for sets like this!
the stone tower is a pagoda and is a spiritual place i love how they added that
I love the design for the lily pads. I'm not planning to buy this set but I'm definitely going to try to recreate some of the plants.
The stone structure you're having trouble naming @ 0:33 is a Pagoda. Always love your honest reviews. Thanks Tiago.
Those 'bent' plates look really good! I hope LEGO will release this in more colors.
Lovely set but as someone knowledgeable about japanese gardens, this set is really missing ornamental Acer trees. I will likely buy 2 of this set and expand it into a larger diorama adding moss covered stone elements and having larger bamboo forests as well.
Well my question of "Does it come with a Lego frog" has been answered lol
of course it comes with a frog
I’ve heard that LEGO refuses to recolour those ball-joints because that kind of connection requires strong plastic and grey/black are the strongest colours they have.
BIONICLE fans (of which I am one) are intimately familiar with this concept as we have all been thoroughly traumatized by the colour of lime green. The pre-2008 grey/black joints are about the only ones you can still find in consistently good shape nowadays. I don’t think it’s a coincidence or petty stubbornness that their current ball-socket joints only come in those colours, though I do agree it’s ugly here and they should have used a different technique if they aren’t going to change the colours.
Looks amazing love the printed fish element great review
Now it would also be very cool if there came a minifigure with this Set, maybe a Japanese with traditional clothing or even a Samurai with new Armor mold and updated mold for Katana.
I agree with the term you used "Took away from the Lego vibe". I really like how Lego keeps introducing new specialised elements that make adding detail so much easier. The problem is that there are so many new elements and new colurs, many of them only found in expensive/ exclusive sets that I simply don't have the budget for. Yes, Bricklink is a great option and as time goes by, these parts become more readily available so prices come down, but by that time every possible use and combination has been achieved and you feel like you should've already had these in your collection.
If you are trying to be the first to build grand things with specialized elements you need to outspend all the competition. But competition is a zero sum game so you can instead choose not to compete and just build Japanese roofs in other ways that are less clean to look at close up but work just as well for the overall gestalt of the build.
THIS, this is why I stopped buying altogether, and unfortunately you can’t just paint bricks and make them look good, and it just gets too expensive.
Just use the older bricks and gain more sovl in your builds.
This will be a day 1 buy for me. I love the bonsai set, this will go with it perfectly.
Also - it is minifigure scale so you can add figures if you want to and add also it into a layout!😊🌸. I have the appropriate figures to add but Ninjago figures could be used too. I’m going to customise the cherry trees.
I really want to buy this set, fill it with aesthetically matching figures, and then just adjust it whenever I feel like it. Honestly great for adults and older kids alike.
The Series 4 Kimono Girl goes absolutely perfect with this set.
Do you know why LEGO refuses to recolor the ball joints? It seems like such a useful element to have in a variety of colors.
Ball-socket connections need strong plastic to withstand the stresses of being put together or taken apart and different coloured plastics have different levels of strength.
Ask any BIONICLE fan and they will each have at least one horror story involving lime green joints. The grey/black sockets are the ones you’re most likely to find in good shape after much abuse whereas some colours often break the first time they’re assembled even when being careful. I would not be surprised if LEGO took this as a lesson and decided not to make their modern joints in more colours as it’s hard to predict what could become the new lime green.
I’m pretty sure Eljay asked about this before he reviewed the recent brick-built Tahu and Takua set and the response from the designer was basically that they cannot make them in other colours, not that they simply choose not to.
Great review as always!! Love that the positions of the trees are customizable makes the set more refreshing to buy
the structure you cant name is usually called a pagoda
Thanks!
Oh man, I wish they would do one in a traditional slavic cottage setting with a bridge over a river. Would be an instant buy for me
This time i watched the video until the end because i actually want this set. I only have the bonsai as the flowers were not interesting to me, so its nice to get another botanical.. even if its basically another bonsai.
That’s should be master Wu’s retirement house!
The more i buy Lego again the more I see these as expensive little dust traps. Oh well
Same here. Using transparent plastic sheets to cover, but aesthetics is affected.
Are those little trees recoloured drills from one of those older fantasy crystal mining sets?
They look like mini-versions of those elements yes
"A specialised piece" isn't that tree part just a drill from the rockraiders or how they where called a few year ago?🤔 Otherwise nice video😊
Can you make a review of the Amazing Spider-Man lego set that just came out
I have visited Japan and in Costa Rica we have a big and nice Japanese garden, this set reminds very well of those n.n
I love how this set looks and the price is great. However I would loved to have seen a Japanese style minifig, maybe a geisha but never the less great set and great review 🤩
The grey balljoints and the grey pins in the pink trees are really ugly, but classic LEGO moves, they overcharge and under deliver in their sets, the only constant you can be sure of at LEGO.
If you have a problem with these rivers you should never go near the beautiful BlueBrixx Astronomer's Lighthouse. Which has 3-5 different colors of blue and multiple layers to build a very detailed sea. It's complex to build but astonishing to look at.
The GOAT of Lego reviews returns 🔥
I love the look of this set, still hoping for a zen garden. That’s what I thought this set would be
This is the Only thing I got Myself last Christmas , an I love to spend Alot of time looking at it and sometimes changing Small things.
I wasn't too in love with this set, but the fact that is has the big black tray build disqualifies it from my wishlist.
Wow this set looks really great. There are already a couple of deals around for about €90,- which seems like a very good deal.
Truly astonishing!, i think i'll be keeping an eye to this set, it is so cute and well built, that will make a good decoration piece in any room of a house
Another banger of a video Tiago. Thank you for your work ! 🥰
really looking forward to this set and the Himeji Castle set, 2 very nice asian themed sets.
Feels like a minifigure diorama you can take photos with
the 2x2 bent plate is a great part adittion. will be exciting to see if it is used in many sets going forward
I was wondering what made this a Zen Garden, but I see that it's the ability to move the trees around, which is a really nice idea.
Still, I wish there was another changing factor to this set, but I guess a part of it is being able to add your own pieces, like minifigures or your own trees. Maybe if the set had multiple colored branches in it I could be convinced to buy it, but as it stands now it's a bit too simple. I guess that's why the price is lower.
Why do i find those 1x2 printed koi fish so amazing!? 😮
the colors aren’t cohesive at all. making it not tranquil.
those small dark green tree elements look like repurposed drills from the power miner sets haha
I'll be changing the cherry blossoms to an autumn colored pallete, or maybe even green, because they look kind of skinny! Maybe I'll add some stuff to the garden too.
I love how this set looks
Love this set. Can’t wait to get this. Love the frog statue, the pagodas and the koi fish prints are a nice touch
that new peace could EASILY be used in ninjago sets, and i would love it
I love this set, and this review, but I am so sick of super expensive lego sets😭
This set is really well priced
I know that Part 22484 comes in Trans Bright Green so you could replace the Dark Bluish Gray ones with those.
I don't have money to buy legos, i was waiting for the perfect set to spent the only money I have, and it has arrive, im so happy, I will buy it tomorrow :D
Wauw! This is a very nice legoset. Very pretty.
Love that 2x2 bent plate
Damm, I wasn't hyped for this set but this video sold me. Looks super "naturey", I hope we get more landscapes at this scale. I'm especially a fan of the pond.
Oooo..customization is really cool!
Did like this set. I had no issue with the water. I had issue with trying to put the hut on the stilts.
Awesome set
However for what is included in this set it should have been cheaper
Thumbnail is a bit frightening with the long distanced hands but great review, I might grab one in the future
Wish you’d shown scale better by incorporating a minifigure.
I think the gray “ugly” part in the bamboo was meant to be a pot of sorts holding it but i do admit i would like some green on the 22484s
Should have added some light - in the house and garden lamps.
Thanks for the review! I might consider buying it.
Doesn't make sense when Lego changes colors for Fern to make a Pine Tree or special new bent 4x4s, but still refuses to give a Green Bamboo anything else but two shades of Gray at the base. Just seems Obstinate.
that's such a cool use of drills hahaha
Another great review, I think ill buy 2 of these, as I love new parts, in my collection, and maybe display one w a kimono girl or samurai cmf. Prolly try to rework the bamboo though. Your right they need to recolor stuff like that. Now if we can just get some decent gwp offerings.
This would look so lush reworked into the Rivendell set
This set is so beautiful 😮
This build is so cool!
Little bit of feedback: the bass notes in the transitions are too much for listening with headphones. Great review as always!
Noted!
The gray sockets for the bamboo really are a shame, I wonder if improvising a planter would fix that
I can't wait to buy this!
Im the target group but it is kinda big. Wouldnt know where to put it.
big, yet also looks empty
Love your vids
3:18 I don't like when the objects and side builds cannot be attached to the baseplate. The set cannot be safely moved around as a consequence, and the side builds can be lost or forgotten to which set they belong to.
Three remarks:
1. Such a nice build! ⛩
2. Such a good review! ✔
3. Where are my Tiago Tuesday Talks? 🧐
Beautiful set. Great review ❤
How many of y’all, besides me, made a Minecraft version of this?
Will you review the Himeji Castle as well? please say you will. that set looks dope and seems to be at a great price as well, so i wanna know from the expert about the building experience.
I guess the stone "lanterns" are not lanterns, it's "spirit houses"
I need to go to Japan to learn all about it!
hope the printed fish elements will be available on PAB later
Will you be doing a review of Himeji Castle? I think you’ll find it has that LEGO charm you were looking for in the Tranquil Garden ;)
I most definitely will!
It looks very nice! Also the review!
The small trees look like green lego miner’s drill bits
Dammit man, I wanted this set the second I saw it, your video came up and pushed me over the edge, and when I went to order it I saw the Executor is finally back in stock, so I had to get that too…
Love the look of the set, is that fence piece new? Looks like it's all one piece but I wish it was brick built. I don't super mind the use of specialized pieces with the new curved tile, it's really cool and you couldn't do it without it, but the Super Mario Platform pieces aren't something you couldn't' brick build, its just a piece count saving decision. Same with the fence, I've seen way too many good looking brick built fences to think we should be using a new element
The cherry blossoms look a bit sad, honestly most of the plants and trees look too plain.
My first LEGO set and I'm loving it, but...any hints for getting the white shoji screens into the "walls" of the tea house? I cannot get them to pop in!
conifers look like they might be recoloured Power Miners?
It's weird to compare to the corvette. The part for that set are much larger.
Frog included so 10/10
I would put this in a city because it’s mini figure size
I buy this set immediately 😊
"Does it come with a LEGO frog?"
Yes. Yes it does.
I received my Lego Tranquil Garden set today and started building it. I’m on Step 27 right now. Just FYI….Installing the white panes of the shoji screen is a royal pain in the ass!!! I’m literally having to use a small metal dagger instrument to help slide and snap each pane into each window. I’ve only done 6 windows so far and my hands are hurting and raw. I wish Lego had all the panes already installed into each window frame. Or, it would be nice if Lego made the panes easier to install. 😡
I want it lol even tho the meticulous water part lol
A lot of the elements in this garden gave me Mulan vives. I thought I can recreate Mulan’s home with the bridge leading to the temple where they pray to ansestors… the cherry blossom trees is to recreate the scene Mulan with her father he said that one flower is bloom late. Just so many Mulan vives I can seem to look at this set simply as a Japanese garden.
