Things have really changed at that spot and I believe you were lucky to be there at the right time. When I was in Illinois last March, I didn’t go there cause it was too far out of my range by transit. So therefore I just did two different spots outside Chicago for the same BNSF and UP.
Seeing all this action right before the lightning round of mergers and/or takeovers up till the early 2000s really makes me wish I was there for all thiS (plus I have a softspot for the CNW). Sure beats what we had out on the Tier and the WTL, even back then.
