We bought Mapei Ultracolor Plus FA (Chamois) and tried small batches. (48oz product) Really liked it but we did one shower wall at time, the 2 of us mostly wife. 73 degrees, Nor Cal and it was ready in 11 minutes! We sponged it 3 times and blue cloth rag to get any haze, worked great. We also bought matching Mapei silicone to do the corner joints ...matched perfect
Thank you, there are tons of different products but this combination is very solid. Hansgrohe is very affordable and quite a value compared to the other rough-ins, it’s crazy how expensive they can be
I first want to say i absolutely love your videos and appreciate all the info you guys put online. You have been a great help to me on my bathroom project. I am sure KERDI products are wonderful but IN MY OPINION i do not find this system to be budget friendly (well that depends on your budget i guess). It's almost $750 just for the waterproofing system alone.
it’s not the cheapest but the pan is $140 and that can be cut to fit, so there’s versatility. Most shower preformed systems are going to be in that $500-$700 range, we need to make a spreadsheet comparing them all
Why to use “Kerdi shower roll” if I can simply install hardbacker sheets (waterproofed orangish ) or regular one painted by Redgard and Redgard Seamtaped that costs around $27 per roll without tons of time consuming and details? Schluter is a great product but for Shower Pan I use to surround by Harbackers which is very solid product I’ve been loosing considerable numbers of clients when they realized the final cost 💰 following Schluter pathways ! But even tough os a great option for shower issues
Nice video, am doing the last remodel bathroom in my house. I like those SS shelves , but they look like they would cut your arm open if you slipped into them.
it’s different for everyone. This shower is going to be $2500-$3000 once the waterproofing, custom tile, plumbing and glass doors are installed. Material costs alone are in that price range. It’s less for tub shower combos that don’t need as much waterproofing or tile or doors. It’s more for curbless showers that need extra carpentry and different shower systems.
It was like Christmas watching this video. Thanks.
totally 👍🏼

You guys are awesome thanks for all your vids! currently updating my shower same as the one in this vid.
I like your choice of products, Schluter and Mapei. The Hansgrohe shower valve is very cool and very well designed for an easy installation.

I never knew you were my competition here in Pittsburgh. I'm just getting started and feel defeated already
It’s a big market 👍🏼
Really good video! Lots of info. Thanks guys.
thank you, hopefully it helps 👍🏼
Thanks again for another great video! For the shower wall, its it better to use Kerdi board or the combination of drywall+kerdi membrane? Thx!
Personally I like KERDI-BOARD because you can use scraps for niches, benches, curbs, etc
Where did u say that penny mosaics going. I heard you can’t go anything smaller the. 2x2 on schluter shower pans

Hello, Where did you purchase the Kerdi membrane (15 feet of it)? I just need 6 feet and the rolls are like 100 feet long. Thanks...
Shower pan tiles are too small for Svhluters foam pan. Minimum is 2" x2" so as to distribute the psi more.
Can you use pables forthe shower pan
When you say friendly budget how much money we are talking about? Thanks

You should not use shower floor tiles less than 2 in SQ if you use kedi pans. Because of the flexibility of the pan.
That’s not true, any size tile can be used and there’s no flexibility to the tray if properly installed
That's for Ditra.....NOT the Kerdi sloped shower tray...according to Schluter Kerdi
😍😍😍
how is this any where near a budget friendly install
That fiberglass shower will outlast any tile shower just saying
