When I was in 11th grade I watched on TV as Gary Gordon and Randy Shugarts bodies were drug through the streets of Mogadishu. I decided then that one day I would become an Operator. I joined the Army in 1996 and achieved my goal in 2000.
"Mike Durant we will not leave you behind!" SFC Randy Shughart and MSG Gary Gordon, you gentlemen damn sure earned the Medal of Honor. Greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for his brother
SSG Tommy Field, was a buddy of mine, we went through Green Platoon and SERE School together. He went down in Super 64, Durant's bird. He was a great guy and a good friend. Lest we forget. NSDQ!
I'm sorry for your loss. He was a hero. I heard he was one of the final bodies recovered. Apparently he was still alive when 64 went down and fought with Shughart and Gordon and Durant until the bitter end.
I was stationed at Ft Campbell watching it on CNN in the mess hall, we were on Division Ready Force (DRF1) at the time. There were alot of us hoping we would get called up to go and get some payback, it still pisses me off too!
That's what happened when you and your government mess up against a whole nation that don't want you at all. I don't like when normal people fight each other without even know each other. But I tell you that the day US gringos decide to invade Mexico, every soldier, kid, elder, sick, woman and normal citizen will give you hell as nobody has ever done before I doesn't matter if we lose many battles, the amount of corpses and trauma will be so enormous atrocious beyond any Vietnam remind... Don't call for a war that you don't want...
Another interesting fact is that their were DEVGRU or SEAL TEAM 6 snipers helping from the shadows and one of them escaped by paying a fishermen so he can hide in his boat and return him to his base.
Crazy seeing grown people react to a movie ive been watching since i was 5. Crazier to think my uncle fought in Mogadishu when these events happened. He is a marine.
Tom is an awesome American, all of them were/are…knowing many of these men has given me such a pause that I can only watch this occasionally…. Part of that is guilt, I was supposed to be in the Rgr Bn HHC, I tore my hamstring playing frisbee football. The only time my guilt is assuaged is k owing the guy that wound up with my job was far better at it and way smarter than I was.
The worst part is that the entire battle happened due to pure stupidity on the part of the Somalis. They believed the local warlord who stole their food and medicine when he told them US troops were only coming because they wanted to tape their wives and daughters. The level of stupid you have to be to trust the word of the guy who is actively oppressing you astounds me.
Great! It is very interesting to see the reactions to the scenes from the cult movie Robocop 1987! I especially wanted to see the reactions to Robocop's fights against the ED-209 robot 🦾🤖🔥
Rest in peace, brave men.

Thank you ❤
"That's brave." Yes ma'am... that's why they were awarded the Medal of Honor for their sacrifice...

"Gordy's gone man, I'll be outside. Good luck."
I live in Central Pennsylvania and everytime I drive Shughart Road, the road dedicated to Randy Shughart, I think about him.
That's cool you tell us the real history at the end that is something different than the other reaction videos.

Michael Durant wrote a book on his experience called "In the Company of Heroes "...
I remember when this happened. I remember watching them drag our soldier through the streets naked. It still pisses me off to this day.

The greatest men ever walked the face of the earth. Im proud to have been part of the US Army Rangers. I worked with these guys. I was honored.

Slawomir Idziak made this movie look so ahead of its time
Anyone interested in what happened should watch the Shawn Ryan show with Tom Saterly. Tom was one of the Delta Force guys there.

I mean; it happens all the time. Look at our own country for one....
@@dennisjohnson7364 Was just about to say this. It's frighteningly easy to manipulate gullible and desperate people. Look no further than Trump.
