@@simonveaney I've been cruising youtube today, listening to all different versions of the song (because I'm in a mood, I guess). It's hard to do it justice, especially without a band to back you up with the building intensity. A lot of folks mess it up by trying to sound extra hardcore. I think it was a good decision to take it in a bit more melodical direction, since it's really a song about fear and guilt and human-ness and not about "look how evil I am". So, yes, well done!
@@Sarah-oj7bh I appreciate that a lot. The key to the song for me is the fragility behind the bluster. That ‘I’m afraid I told a lie’ is there throughout the song ..it’s just initially masked in machismo. He IS afraid to die. He’s trying to find some meaning in his futile mandated departure. Some greater purpose like Christ. But he’s confronting the fact that it might all be for nothing. But putting a brave face on because what else can you do in the face of oblivion? It’s that questioning I like in the song.
Good cover!
Thank you ...I love that song. Tried to capture its intensity solo!

@@simonveaney True. He's falling apart right from the beginning. You need the right kind of intensity. I think you nailed that.
Its a shame you didn't try it with a rolling pick
If I was playing live I might well try that!
What´s a rolling pick?
