Thank you very much, Chris! Your music was a big part of the soundtrack of my childhood, so I really wanted to do it justice. How wonderful and comforting it is to know, that the composer approves! :-)
@@ChristianVestergaardWennerlin Same to me. Those soundtracks of the C64 games I've played for hours/days/weeks/months have burned into my brain like no casual pop song from the charts will ever do. And thanks to some composers like Chris they were, are and ever will be true pieces of art.
Sehr schön gespielt 👍 das Spiel gehörte auf dem C64 damals zu meinen Lieblingspielen und die Musik dazu ebenfalls. Danke für diese neue und wunderschöne Interpretation.
It's so good it made my eyes watery! Played GS so much in my youth, and to listen to this hommage is simply wonderful! Thanks Chris, I have it on my iPod too now. C64 forever!
I'm speechless. Therefore I'm glad music speaks to me. You absolutely nailed it. This tells me just how good were many of those C64 compositions. Magical feeling, absolutely genious both original and your take on it!
Unlike the people who drown songs in an unimportant mess off different keys and say its good because they play it worse than it could be by making it like a hamburger with too much ketchup. too little ketchup and its plaine tasting but too much ruins the taste by making it only taste like ketchup. THIS IS THE PERFECT BALANCE!
Wow, you really left me speechless, because this is so amazing. I really don't find the words to describe how much this is touching me. I played Giana Sisters countless times when I was a Teenager on the Amiga 500 and I loved the Intro-Soundtrack so much. Your Version of this song is so great, I can only say "Respect". I admire people who are able for playing the piano and the way you play this song is greater than great. Thank you so much for sharing it. Kindly Regards from Germany and all the best wishes to you and all your beloved ones. Holger
Sooo beautiful! The Giana Sisters theme takes so naturally to piano, I haven't come across a piano rendition of this song I didn't like! This is like music you would hear during the opening scene of something like Final Fantasy or Legend Of Zelda.....
For days I wondered where I knew the melody at the beginning from. But then I remembered: I don't! What I was thinking about was "No time for caution" by Hans Zimmer (from the Interstellar soundtrack). The melody is surprisingly similar, but it's not the same. Listen carefully to both tracks, I find the similarity pretty interesting.
I was going to comment that this is impressive, but then I noticed you played this without any sheet music. Just.....holy crap that's amazing. I play the piano myself, but I couldn't imagine playing a piece this complex without sheet music. How on earth did you manage to do that?
Thanks! Well, I generally improvise a lot, and I have played a lot by ear during the years. Like any skill, it gets better with practice. A lot of practice :-)
Echt Geil ! wie du das spielst danke für das schöne video erinnert mich an meinen bruder der gestrorben ist war unser lieblings lied zu c64 er zeiten gefält mir am besten von allen, das möchte ich auch so können beneide dich.
I start the main melody from F when I play it: F G G# G F A# G# G. Sounds good to me. I've learned it by ear, slowly decoding the notes. ;) I hope both ways, my and the one you play are good. ;D Otherwise I'd have to re-learn to play Giana Sisters melody, haha. :)
Well, Chris composed it in a certain key back then, but you can play it in any key you want :-) Different keys can feel different, but unless you're aiming for the original, anything goes :-) Keep having fun with it, that's important! :-D
@@ChristianVestergaardWennerlin Thank you. I've learned to play it by ear, I haven't seen the notes. :D That's why I play it from F. :) I think it would be interesting to see the notes and to play it in the original key. Thanks. :)
@@ChristianVestergaardWennerlin Thanks! I haven't red the description. This website seems pretty cool with all the play function. I see the notes are a bit more complex than I thought. Seems like an interesting challenge to play for a beginner. :) Which means fun. :D
@@CJWarlock That's the spirit! :D One of my music philosophies is that you can learn to play any piece - it's just a matter of how much time it takes to practice it :-)
Well, it's the same piece, that's for sure. The arrangement is different though. I don't have access to the sheets, but I suspect that they are somewhat similar.
Great, thanks for the nice piano interpretation! :)
