- The 2019 2022 Volvo S60 is the first Volvo car to be sold without a diesel offer, signaling the company’s industry-leading commitment to electrification and a long-term future beyond the traditional combustion engine.
Two turbo-charged and super-charged plug-in hybrid petrol engines will be available in the new S60: Volvo’s T6 Twin Engine AWD plug-in hybrid that generates a combined 340 horsepower, and the award-winning T8 Twin Engine AWD plug-in hybrid that delivers 400 hp. Volvo’s proven T5 and T6 petrol engines will be available at launch.
Electrified versions of the new S60 also offer a performance handling upgrade called Polestar Engineered - developed by Volvo Cars’ electric performance arm, Polestar.
Polestar Engineered is available exclusively on the T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid and is a complete offer that upgrades the car’s wheels, brakes, suspension and engine control unit, boosting the S60 T8 combined output to 415 hp.

I saw this car 1 week ago which was blue met color, and was dreaming of it, and in the meanwhile I found this video in my feed, which clearly shows how much I fell in love with this simple and elegant car, I will definitely park this car in my garage. One day sooner. :)
I loved it . mainly the xc90 D5 inscription. The Volvo S60 completes the range of top-of-the-line vehicles.

This is the car I could be persuaded to trade in my GLI for. If I could get into an S3 in the same price range as an S60 I wouldn't even consider the Volvo.

My Volvo S60 2012 engine is blown at 128,000 miles and Volvo until this moment has not replaced my engine. Very expensive to maintain.

If you are considering purchasing any of these brands, I encourage you to spend a day test driving the competitors, I guarantee you will be disappointed with what they offer in the same price range.
Jaguar being the most heinous, not even offering a touch screen on the base level E-Pace and XE, and the E-Pace is SLOW even with the "fastest" option they have (which is over 50k for a pitiful compact SUV that looks like a KIA). The base XE is just pathetic, it does not use premium materials, it has NO modern safety tech (not even BLIS), and it's straight up slow. The prices on Jaguar's entry level vehicles advertised on their site is nowhere near accurate either, and you won't be going into a Jaguar dealership and negotiating any kind of a "deal". They are used to clients who come in knowing they are purchasing an expensive vehicle and paying for it hand over fist. That's an entirely different problem though, the dealerships are making the mistake there. Jaguar created those far cheaper entry level vehicles in order to compete with less expensive rivals, and the dealerships are basically chasing those very customers away.
I have a colleague that regretted his purchase of a BMW X3 after seeing the XC60 that I purchased, he was unaware that Volvo even had this new lineup of great looking (and performing) vehicles. He's also a 1st time BMW owner, so he's probably the only one that would admit to liking a Volvo more.
For competing brands you pay a hefty price just for the badge. It's not that they do not make quality products, but to get something on par with some of Volvo's offerings, you would be looking at a significant price jump. They offer some embarrassing corner cutting options too, just for the sake of getting behind the wheel of something with their badge on it, Mercedes power plant options and infotainment and Jaguar's inconsistent quality along with some very antiquated amenities (these are problems with their cheaply made entry level vehicles, not the brands as a whole).
Noah B yes I love the xc60 and it feels great on the road at least the T6 but in Europe Volvo’s are at the same level as BMW Audi and Mercedes but in the US there brands just getting popular

Im an audi fan and i have to say they are making very good desigbs far better than the a4 in my opinion...
Biggest drawback of current Volvos is the engine. Despite they have exceptional look the crazy downsizing of both the displacement and number of cylinders just kills the feel and luxury.

PaulB D5 2.0 230hp can still pull the xc90 0-100 in ~7 seconds. It's not a powerless engine.

Even though the Audi A4 has only 4 cylinders. A car and engine is more than just cylinders. It's the drivetrain and how that power gets delivered. I have driven 4 cylinder cars by Audi, BMW and Merc that drove so much more refined compared to 6 cylinder cars by other brands. Germans truly have the best engineering when it comes down to this.
Well i got a XC90 D5 230 hp, and it more then enough, when the two turbo's kick in, you easily can overtake somebody, especially on the highway
The design does not really give me a wow feel. But I bet this car will sell well because compare with their past products, this car is more balanced design. Now what is challenging is that brand new 3 series is also on the way.

Let's face it: only in price will this car take on the Audi A4. In performance (roughly 100hp difference, not to speak of security etc) and looks, Volvo is way way ahead of the game. Wouldn't even trade this one for an A6.

Don't know why this caption says ready to fight audi a4 because they are smaller then s60 and way better. The only company fighting with any audi car is Mercedes, Volvo is only know for safety and audi is the main tech changer of car industry followed by Mercedes. Volvo is still behind on tech in this car vs audi a4 just the a4, a8 is the thing that no company can beat. The 2019 a4 is so much better, sporty, luxury, tech while this volvo is more of just luxury and safety like they have been focused on for past 3 years. No company can feel that Audi power and that quattro system.

I am a Audi fan and have been researching for the past 2 years though i myself drive Mercedes s class so have knowledge in both companies, and i don't think you have looked into Audi's what do you think is the advance company after Mercedes because in 2018 Audi's A8L are one of the safest and tech cars after the S class Mercedes, though i am not saying Volvo's aren't good they are one of the best safety cars in car industry. And just to let you know i had 3 dealerships in 2013-2016 therefore i know how car industries have been working since then.
i am a car mechanic and been working in a *multibrand* car repair shop sorry if i said it wrong but most of the cars there were from vag concern like audis, skodas, volkswagens and so on. Cars that i havent seen so much are mercs, bmw, volvos and all the other *high quality car brands* there is so many problems from what ive seen in vag concern cars. I am not a *fan* of any car brand, but i prefer mercs and bmw for quality. The tech is useless if the car is unrelieable on every other aspect.

I don't like Audi's,in fact I hate any car that comes out of VAG group,but offering only 4 pot engines is not the way to go for a wanna be premium car manufacturer. If it would be in line 5's,then things would be bright for Volvo. Big touch pad and fancy LED lights are not enough in 2018+
