Hello Andy and Jimmy 🖐️👋🖐️, Such a cool special forces hat. You really are going to have to open a museum soon for all the cool things you have collected. How many “green lids” do you have! Thanks for such a fun 4 min visit to your place today and seeing your collections! Thanks for being such an enjoyable friend!
Hey again ! ..well hard to say.. but RM..!?! at least 20.. I also have a large beret collection from other regiments and corps !! lol I have the bug for collecting them !! lol Blessings to you and yours for an awesome weekend my friend !! X
That's a nice-looking beret, Andy. Of course, you wouldn't see these guys wearing their berets off the camp. Mind you dad would wear his back in the 70's but then the regiment was truly a secret unit and Hereford knew most of em. I like the ribbon - that says class. Thanks my friend - great stuff. All the best. Mark
Hey again Mark bro !.. that's awesome !! ..yeah I guess only Walters wear a beret like those down the shops today !! I love this lid.. although I would prefer it to have been a used example for character !.. I can't complain though.. as they are very hard to find.. I'm just very happy to have this new example in my collection !! Blessings my friend as always !!
@@JimTimber That's right only a walt would do that. I admire your dedication to the collection. This is a fine piece but yeah I get your point about a used example.
Thanks Mike bro ! We are off to the vets again today. His blood works showed up a problem with his kidneys and liver. Hopefully he will be able to take pills to help him. Blessings to you my friend !
Thanks 👍..I have about 60 or more berets.. I noticed that the now sadly deceased actor Christopher Lee collected them too.. I tried to bid for a couple of his when he sadly passed away and his collection was put on sale.. but those berets were vintage items mostly from WW2 ..and of course owned by a movie star.. so the prices were well out of my reach !! lol
Sadly the pills don't work and his cough continues.. he's very chipper though and has a good appetite.. so I'm hoping he'll be about for a while yet !! 👍💪👌X
Blessings Tony bro ! ..I do like collecting militaria.. perhaps I should stop before the attic where I keep all the gear takes a 'holiday' to the second floor !! 😂🤣 ..I can hear the joists creaking with all the weight !! lol
Ha ha ! ..Its so rare it was never cooked !! lol ..I got this one off an old mate.. it won't fit my watty melon head though !! lol Blessings and cheers as always Paul bro 🍻
Ha ha ! Hey Sarge bro ! ..Jimmy eats small horses and cattle ! 😂🤣 That's cool that you have a beret collection. This green lid is the same as worn by the Royal Marines ... now part of the United Kingdom Commando Force (UKCF), previously called 3 Commando Brigade (3 Cdo Bde).. a formation of the Royal Marines composed of Royal Marine Commandos and commando qualified personnel from the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force. I was very lucky to find this rare beret still in the plastic.. won't fit my watty melon head though !! lol en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom_Commando_Force
Hey Jim, Shauna here from VR Getaway, my comments are floating away lately, but just wanted to see what you were up to, and what an interesting hat. You have such an interesting past and how did you really get your hands on this! Were you really once a Special Forces? LOL Anyway enjoyed this full video! Hope your day is great!
Blessings to your for persistence ! ..my comments get eaten all the time by the TooYube lions !! lol Well you caught me ! lol.. I used to be in the Royal Marines Reserves back in the early 1990's.. but I was involved in a motorcycle accident that left me debilitated and unable to pass the All Arms Commando Course (AACC).. after the accident I was AFAT (All fingers and thumbs ! lol) Most of my friends however did pass and were awarded the Green beret.. so I have contacts !! lol 😉😁👍 Blessings to you and very best wishes !!
Hey John bro ! ..yeah I got this one from a mate who knew a bloke ..who knew another bloke that was in the SBS !! lol.. not an easy lid to find for sure ! I hope you are well my friend !!
WTF is non - textile parts of animal origin? The leather band? Does that mean that they do a vegan version of this beret? 😆I was surprised that the SBS didn't have a patch until 2003 as their WWII counterparts had a patch showing an arm holding a sword and coming out of the water. What does the RA on the plastic bag refer to? Does the Royal Artillery wear the same beret as the RMs? Anyhow, a nice modern military collectable.
Ha ha ! ..yes they put some odd texts on those berets ! lol ..as you say it will refer to the leather headband ! The RA will refer to 29th Commando Regiment Royal Artillery.. they are the Commando Gunners who provide offensive support to 3 Commando Brigade Royal Marines. They are Army Commandos held at 'Very High Readiness' (VHR) and they specialise in amphibious operations, mountain, desert, jungle and arctic warfare. Have a great week Al bro and very best wishes to you and Shadow as always 🐾🐾 my friend !
That patch with the arm holding the sword from WW2 belonged to the SBSS.. Special Boat Selection Service Al bro.. it was one of the previous concepts of the SBS !
Jimmy was a rescue dog. He was stamped on by his first alcoholic owner and his pelvis was broken. He has had that limp all his life since that day. I consulted a veterinary surgeon about the case and was told that any operation would involve re breaking the pelvis to attempt to fuse it back correctly. The chances of success were only 40% in little Jimmy's favour.. so I opted not to put him through any more pain. For the first year I had little Jimbers I tried very hard to find out who crippled my little dog. The reason was that I would have gladly returned them the favour !!
Hi Jimmy 😍
Very nice beret!
I really like this one too ! X
