Built at the foot of Parnassos, at an altitude of 950 meters, Arachova is undoubtedly the most famous winter resort in Greece. The stately town of Boeotia is relatively close to Athens, at 160 km, which combined with its idyllic mountainous beauty made it an irresistible destination for secular people as well as winter sports lovers and those looking for contact with nature.
One of the most characteristic images that one will see upon entering Arachova is the imposing Clock. Also known as "The Hour", it is the symbol of Arachova and stars in all visitors' photos. The current Clock is a creation of 1966, as the original one did not withstand the devastating earthquake of 1870 and collapsed. Next to the clock rock is the church of Theotokos and the old Primary School which today functions as a Folklore Museum.
The main street is the heart of Arachova. Everyone and everything meets on this narrow, winding road. Lakka Square is the ultimate meeting point, with shops and all-day hangouts for coffee, sweets and drinks, winter and summer. The tables outside become popular especially on sunny days.
Two hundred and sixty-four steps must be climbed to reach the church of Ai-Georgis, patron saint of Arachova. The ascent is also called "Egarsios" and was opened in 1927 by the explorer Karathanasis. At the end of it, the impressive view of the village from above awaits you.
The courtyard of the church of Agios Georgios is decorated with relief plaques with patterns of Arachovite textiles, made by Arachovite craftsmen. In this church every year on April 23, the Arachovites organize the three-day "Festival" in honor of Saint George, which develops into a big festival.

170 km from Athens (about 1:30 hours)
375 km from Thessaloniki (about 4 hours)
135 km from Patras (about 2 hours)
24 km from Parnassos ski center (approx. 30 minutes)
24 km from Agoriani (about 20 minutes)
10 km from Delphi (about 10 minutes)
44 km from Galaxidi (about 40 minutes)

Το βιντεάκι μου δεν έχει καμία σχέση με το θέμα που αναφέρεσαι !Εξάλλου δεν μπορεί να χαρακτηριστεί μια ολόκληρη πόλη ή ένα χωριό για ένα μεμονωμένο γεγονός που έγινε , καθημερινά σε μεγάλες πόλεις της Ελλάδας γίνονται εγκλήματα ανθρώπων και ζώων αλλοίμονο αν χαρακτηριζόμασταν έτσι ,μειονότητα ανθρώπων που έχουν πραγματικά ψυχολογικά προβλήματα και κάνουν τέτοιες πράξεις υπάρχουν. Να ξέρεις ότι μιλάς σε έναν άνθρωπο που έχει ζωάκι!
