Its an extremely repetitive language that grinds at your sanity hence why using java as a hobby is memed to be a sign of insanity. There are many other problems that I really cant go over but thats the gist of it.

you can eat people too in dwarf fortress with a little bit of raw editing, I decorated my kings entire throne room with gem encrusted skulls/totems of our civilizations fallen enemies across 12 Z layers now all laying down on pedestal of silver encrusted with gems, sadly atm we cant butcher dead animals like we used to have, sooo ill have to wait on making something useful from their dead bodies aside totems that dont ward evil, they are making my enemies live on
Playing the "demo" now and it's pretty good, but the first hours are frustrating. The demo is the previous build of the game and it's free. I don't think it's a good game for streaming because it's more of a city builder than a story creator like Rim or DF Also about the mercenary strategy: 1 it was employed and developed by Aztecs who referred to it as "Flower Wars" 2 Sseth isn't evil, he is just jewish
That's one downside of having a pure top-down view - its not always clear what you're looking at. With angled view anyone would have immediately realized the no walls issue, without having to read tooltips or manuals.

Yeah, the tutorial was 100 hours. It reminded me of Populous: the Beginning. The war and civ game on top of that basically killed the flame for me. It was nice. Found the game before they had the war game in it. I think it was Blind who introduced the game to me.

Dwarf Fortress requires the played race (aka the Dwarves in most cases) be morally okay with eating sapients. By default, they are not. You can change this by altering their morality on the subject from "NO" to "YES" in a single text file, however. The only races in the game, as far as my memory goes, that are okay with eating sapients by default are elves and goblins. And wild monsters, of course.
I love this game. It beat out Dwarf Fortress for my favorite game. As for streaming it . . . I'm not sure how your fanbase would handle a stream of this game. I know of others who do stream it themselves. Nookrium's good for that, if you wanted to look his stuff up and see how he does it. He's no expert at the game, but he still enjoys it.
I thought the game was really good but it was pretty much impossible to be ready for war, and the war mechanics were terrible. I haven't played for like a year though so there have probably been updates since then. It's in continual development.
There have been. Diplomacy's easier now. I've managed to keep out of wars pretty well in the current build. Next build is apparently coming soon, so I'm waiting for it. It's gonna be the last build before 1.0. Then he's going to polish the game, fix the bugs, and move onto DLC plans.
