I love the creativity and thought you put into each character and how *everyone* is pretty morally grey, it feels really realistic and I love that! And, as someone who grew up in a pretty rough environment, the way you handle Elliot and the Afton’s childhoods makes me happy in a kind of bittersweet way, if it makes sense? I’ve seen a lot of people either make William a good father or just ignore it all together, and the fact that you not only include it (because it’s one of the reasons I connect w/ the Afton kids) and also portray it and handle it well?? I always do a LOT of research (via hearing others personal experiences, talking to my therapist, from my own personal experiences) before I cover ANY heavy topics (especially child abuse). I want to be a therapist/social worker when I graduate high school so if I were to ever stereotype abuse I’d probably hate myself forever. I’m pretty proud of myself to say I’ve never done such things. I’ve always hated it when people did things like that. It’s always bothered me how people either make William a good father, ignore the abuse, or straight up stereotype it. I’ve always disliked how people usually only make him abuse *one* child (usually Elizabeth or Michael because they like to pretend C.C wasn’t abused even though he obviously was it isn’t normal for a 5-7 year old kid to cry *that* much, not even if he’s a toddler.). My mother is a social worker and I work with kids (babysitting) as well as having two younger siblings and a LOT of younger cousins (I’m the eldest cousin yippie) so I’ve got a lot of experience on how younger kids act, what’s normal behavior and what’s not, and (unfortunately) how abused children act. (Let’s just say Michael as a teen is a really good example of an emotionally abused kid, he acts pretty much exactly how my 11 almost 12 year old cousin does who I was with for a bit just last week). I’ve done lots of research on psychology and certain trauma (religious trauma especially considering Elliot’s main character depth is her religious trauma with her father. Eli’s experiences with being gay are highly based on mine. And a lot of the (abusive, intentional or not) parents are based off family members. (Had an uncle who yelled at me for having ADHD when I was 10). When I first started making content (I was about 12-13) I was always bothered by inaccurate representation in media ESPECIALLY Gacha life (all they had at the time I made content before Gacha club came out on IPhone) so I’ve always tried my best to be mindful and accurate. If someone who has personal experience were to tell me I accidentally stereotyped something I would correct it immediately (it hasn’t happened yet but I would if it did happen). My only flop era was when I made Happy Tree Friends content and had no idea that some of the characters personalities were based off stereotypes on disorders. As soon as I realized it I changed it immediately to be more accurate. (Also this is completely unrelated but you got me into Henry x Clay that’s now canon in my AU so thank you)

Even if it’s ‘awww William just yells at Michael/Elizabeth, CC is his favorite child!! 🥺🥺🥺’ (something I’ve seen someone do before, big yikes), it’s still going to affect the other kids in the household. CC will still grow up terrified of William, because he knows that William is able to turn on a dime and start shouting at him if he fucks up. Sksjshsjsh I’m super sorry if that doesn’t make sense, it’s 3 in the morning for me and my brain’s a bit scrambled 😅 (ALSO BRO you have no idea how hard I cackled, I’ve gotten a good few people into Clay x Henry- but I’m super glad the ship is gaining at least a little more traction! I’ve loved it for a few years now, it’s adorable and they have canonically hinted at moments together, like when Clay mentions Henry talked to him about his divorce or Clay talking to Charlie abt handling grief and it just *feels-* to me, at least- like it’s something he was wishing he’d told Henry. And, most importantly, it’s *healthy!!* Which is certainly a step up for the FNaF fandom, so. Hopefully we can keep going with that B:])
