Ibsen's Peer Gynt satirizes Norwegian culture through the exploits of its charming, arrogant title character, a Norwegian peasant abducts a bride from her wedding and then abandons her in order to travel the world.
Peer Gynt was an incidental music, composed by Norwegian composer and pianist, Edvard Grieg. The piece was written to convert Ibsen's play into a musical phenomenon. It was in the year 1867, in Italy, when Ibsen wrote this play.
Ruth has performed extensively throughout her life. She has soloed with several symphony orchestras, played numerous leading opera, operetta, and musical theater roles.
