I bought an Arai last year and it is the most expensive helmet I have ever owned. Love it for the fit! At 73 years of age, the closer I get to death the more cautious I become and the Arai helmet gives me a great sense of security.
I'm not surprise how good the helmet is but I'm surprise how 70+ years old Japanese man can speak English that well any way thank you for sharing this, it's amazing handcraft factory.
Wow they really ARE handmade - who knew! I expected it would be a gleaming sleek sci fi factory operated by robot machines punching these things out by the several hundreds a day, but its actually a really old school(ish) almost artisanal process. And all the better for it. Fascinating, thanks.
Is it though? I always wonder. People keep saying that handmade everything is better. But is it really better than a machine doing a perfected process exactly right as intended every single time? I wonder?
Looks I'll be saving my shekels to bump up to an Arai, in a world of quickly made and disposable goods it's a pleasure to see people putting effort into their craft. Amazing video Jamie
Completely handmade down to the graphics being laid on. If you pull an arai apart you can see all the signatures from the craftsman that have assembled and checked different parts. They really are a piece of art and the price is justified to me
This video is so wholesome and heart warming. Seeing the dedication putting into each helmet from each individual worker makes me appreciate my Arai more, knowing that it's not just some mass produced machine made piece of gear, but a great achievement of those who put their heart and soul to it. Thank you very much!
Japan : beautiful country , fascinating culture , delicious cuisine , amazing people , I have the utmost respect and admiration for them and everything they make , starting from the japanese bike I own and the Arai helmet I wear is top class...
As a collector of vintage Arai lids, I really appreciate this video Jamie. They are quite simply, the best motorcycle helmets on Earth, in my humble, personal opinion...
Had my Arai Viper-GT for 5 years now in black and white and has been through every weather known to man and still looks like I took it out the box, design, ergonomics and fit are just perfect. 👌
WOW ,truly wow! what amazing craftmanship and dedication. people always complain about cost but don't realize how much R&D and work goes into good gear and don't forget, expensive good gear will ALWAYS be cheaper then medical bills...Michio arai seems like such a nice ,smart ,humble and dedicated Director. no wonder this company does not fail, its ran by an outstanding individual! Many big corp companies can learn from this man. We thank you Mr. Arai and the whole arai team!
Great video Jamie (& friends), Excellent footage, covering the entire trip. I appreciated the angles taken of the workers, showing their concentration & dedication to doing a good job. I also enjoyed your being a gracious guest & letting the Arai folks know you appreciated them. Been wearing Aria's for 30 years and it gives me great confidence knowing it's the best protection I can wear, and, I'm supporting a family run business that has their heart & hands on the deep into the company & it's unparalleled products.
I go past that factory almost every Saturday. I've always wanted to find an excuse to get a tour, now I don't need one. Thanks for a great video. (Also, next time you're in Japan, I can show you where to find a good burger.)
This video is sooo good! All the aesthetics of filmmaking are on point here! I would like to specially mention the great job done by DOP- Wyatt Seaverns and Editor- Elijah Barone for creating this work of art! The selection of Background music was also awesome! An amazing balance between cultural but not cliche regional music was struck! Great Job guys!🙌🔥🔥
I’ve tried many different helmets throughout my riding years and none have been as comfortable as my Arais. I currently own two and will continue to purchase Arai. Arai helmets for the win👍🏻
guess you must have a alot of helmets collection on your wall right now. its become one of my hobby now. unfortunately, i can't afford my preferred Agv's yet.
I’ve been wearing Arai since 1987 when I bought my first one from Bill Head Honda in Preston. I was inspired to buy one when I saw Mat Oxley wearing one in Performance Bike magazine.
When one buys an Arai, there are no others quite like it... Thanks MotoGeo for this awesome video... I've owned 4 Arai's so far and the number will only get bigger... It's simply the best for me... From what I have seen in the video, the quality of the helmets justifies its price... Currently rocking the Arai VZ-Ram Pedrosa Spirit Gold helmet... Bought in Japan when i was there on vacation.
Wow Mr. Arai seems like a really impressive man (I mean obviously, Arai is huge but his character, too). Also, love the man at the gas station using a rag to make sure he doesn't drip any gas.
My first helmet was an Arai VX-Pro, cost a pretty penny but I love my noggin. I actually tried to import one from Japan as they were cheaper. Speaking to a shop owner on the phone the gentleman was very polite but refused to sell me a helmet because I'm caucasian/european/white. He proceeded to tell me that he would love to sell me a helmet but they only stock helmets for the East Asian market and that they differ from those sold in the EU market. East Asians have rounder heads than Europeans and the helmets are designed accordingly so it won't have the correct fit for my head. He could have easily sold me a helmet but he looked out for my safety instead.
I really have been waiting this video! I was surprised to hear you came to Japan. I'm so proud of Arai because their good manufacturing quality saved you from the serious accidents before. I'm waiting next video you were traveling in Hokkaido, Japan!
Just go to any club racing events in the US and you will witness most riders wearing Arai. They are not sponsored by Arai and most have very limited budgets but they understand that it's the most important part of their gear so there's no skimping on head protection. I personally feel Arai has been the best motorcycle helmet producer since they introduced the F1 line back in the 80's.
Amazing video! Very beautiful shots and of course the story is incredibly interesting! Thanks for this factory tour, I completely changed my opinion about Arai helmets :)
The Regent-X is the most comfortable helmet I've ever put on my head. Won't buy anything else other than Arai or Shoei. Japanese hand built helmets ftw!!!
I was very cool, you never see this kind of stuff due to copyrights. You just never know what goes into a helmet. Nice to see you ride the country of the Arai Helmet.
Well done! This is a well crafted video! Now I can appreciate my Arai helmet even more. This is awesome work! You deserve more views. Shared this on our Facebook channel! ❤️
I just bought my first Arai helmet 3 days a go (Corsair X trico) I’m so surprised how it fits me, it feels like was made for me. Definitely Arai is amazing.
The amount of pride these workers take in their work is amazing to watch. And another thing Tht is really interesting is that there is no difference between the helmets that is available to the public versus the helmet supplied to moto gp riders and I think this another reason why arai is the best
"I have many decades of riding and lots of enjoyment from your helmet"..Sorry Jamie, I love your channel, but that incapacitated me for several minutes!! Keep the videos coming! :-))
Arai decided NOT to make drop down visor helmet because they think it compromise the safety of the helmet while other company are having big sales numbers on touring helmet with built in visors like Shoei GT Air, AGV K3/K5, HJC RPHA 70. Arai took their philosophy really seriously.
Japanese manufacturing is one of the best in the world. Surprised to see how simple the factory is though. Thank you Jamie for taking us through I believe not a lot of people are allowed in the Arai factory to begin with. Can I also ask which action cam do you usually use when on your bike?
i have my wes cooley rep from the 80s sitting on a shelf in the shed and still use my quantum f... i got my first supervent in 1985 and have loved the fit and quality ever since
Blimey. Great video, fascinating. While I knew they were well made and, along with Shoei, a notch above, I didn’t realise the craftsmanship that went into making one, I’d assumed it was a lot more automated. I love the Japanese attitude towards work, honour, and continual improvement. Shames a lot of our western “that’ll do” culture...
Great Video! Thanks for that! Concerning putting on and off the Helmet i suggest using a Balaclava (Hood). Makes it piece of cake to put it on and off really.
Suddenly Arai don't seem so expensive, amazing place and people, great vid guys.
exactly my thoughts.
from what i have known, they are on point more with the safety of the rider and the quality of the products they have made.
Hentai Battousai They take safety very seriously. Hence why they only make a limited number of shell styles.
No such thing as an expensive helmet, only a cheap helmet..
Sarah Dell also the reason you’ll never buy an Arai with a flip down internal sun visor!
"At least, what I could do is to struggle"
Words I'll remember from now on
I bought an Arai last year and it is the most expensive helmet I have ever owned. Love it for the fit! At 73 years of age, the closer I get to death the more cautious I become
and the Arai helmet gives me a great sense of security.
you still got a lot ahead of you :-)
It’s just great to hear someone of your age still out on the streets!
I'm not surprise how good the helmet is but I'm surprise how 70+ years old Japanese man can speak English that well
any way thank you for sharing this, it's amazing handcraft factory.
maybe for biz purpose.....fluent in english is advantage
dont forget he rides Ducati too 😂
Wow they really ARE handmade - who knew! I expected it would be a gleaming sleek sci fi factory operated by robot machines punching these things out by the several hundreds a day, but its actually a really old school(ish) almost artisanal process. And all the better for it. Fascinating, thanks.
Marc Riches Katana and Sushi are two words that come to mind.
Is it though? I always wonder. People keep saying that handmade everything is better. But is it really better than a machine doing a perfected process exactly right as intended every single time? I wonder?

That’s it. Arai is my new helmet!
Old Mr Arai and his wisdom on incremental improvements.
Superb.
Great vid.
Is he still alive? I thought it was his sons running the company now
I watched this holding my Corsair-X 👍 Amazing how dedicated this Factory is. 👍🇯🇵 Made in Japan means something 👍
FXDR-S1000R Eli C. I did the same with both my quantum 2 and quantum x
I did that too with my LS2 helmet while crying knowing i won't be able to afford an arai helmet.
I did see the video me to my corsair X trico. I feel like kid because finally I have my arai helmet (it was my birthday present from me to me LOL)
Japan : beautiful country , fascinating culture , delicious cuisine , amazing people , I have the utmost respect and admiration for them and everything they make , starting from the japanese bike I own and the Arai helmet I wear is top class...

i love japan and japanese made stuff
They love us foreigners for buying their products! Lol
A really humble man. Impressive!
This was a truly excellent video and I enjoyed it immensely. I had no idea how much detail went into making my helmet.
Had my Arai Viper-GT for 5 years now in black and white and has been through every weather known to man and still looks like I took it out the box, design, ergonomics and fit are just perfect. 👌

Amazing...Its all Arai for me from hereon...the sincerity in hand made products is indisputable

You know, I don't normally like helmet docu, but this one was very interesting and felt real. Thank you Arai-San for making such a great helmet.
I go past that factory almost every Saturday. I've always wanted to find an excuse to get a tour, now I don't need one. Thanks for a great video. (Also, next time you're in Japan, I can show you where to find a good burger.)
I rather go to Co-Co Ichiban. Level 8 for me please.
The labour involved is mad.. awesome to see the work behind these amazing lids.. proud to wear my Arai !

Wow, my next helmet will be an Arai. Incredible passion and quality control. Great vid.
Beautiful video, and very enlightening! It's inspiring to see the craftsmanship that goes into each helmet. Thanks for the great content!
Thank you Jamie, I love my arai helmet and enjoyed watching how they are made.

Very interesting. I have a new appreciation for my Arai helmet. After seeing this I won't buy any other brand. Great episode Jamie.
Just watched SHARK helmet factory tour in Thailand, ARAI factory makes it like backyarders. WOW, just wow
thank you for your genuine interview and tour it means a lot to us riders.
Great facility tour, loved the interaction with the factory worker too. Just picked up my first Arai today, love it.

Until I saw this video I didn't know that Arai helmets were hand-made. I love the attention to detail!
Excellent video mate!
Incredible!! Efforts by the Arai family are beyond words after seeing this vid
Amazing video! Very beautiful shots and of course the story is incredibly interesting! Thanks for this factory tour, I completely changed my opinion about Arai helmets :)
I had no idea they were hand made. Thanks for making this video. Excellent!
Arai helmets are worth it. I've crashed at significant speed, and I thank Arai for saving my life and my brain.
The great respect you show for everyone you encounter doesn’t go unnoticed. Also, as always, great content.
The Regent-X is the most comfortable helmet I've ever put on my head. Won't buy anything else other than Arai or Shoei. Japanese hand built helmets ftw!!!
The respect you showed to their craft will definitely be remembered by these people, you can be sure of that!
My first helmet was a open-face HA. That was more than 50 years ago, before they started using Arai as a brand name.
日本に来てくれて感謝します from🇯🇵
100 people, wow well made. Many eyes checking too. Thanks for the tour.
Wow, I know my next helmet will definitely be an Arai! Fantastic video!
I was very cool, you never see this kind of stuff due to copyrights. You just never know what goes into a helmet. Nice to see you ride the country of the Arai Helmet.

Great job Jamie. Thank you!
"At least, what i could do is to struggle." a true Japanese way of thinking. Much respect for this country and those people.
The factory doesn't seem too big but given the fact Arai is global giant and produces handmade helmets, they gotta be big..! Loved this documentary!!!
never knew they were handmade, now i wanna get one myself!
Really enjoyed this... one of my best Motogeo videos
This video was so cool. I definitely want one now. Go to the Schuberth factory next plz.
Great helmets & happy to support a well made product! Great video Too!
It is worth buying this helment what a great history hats off to all great workers and founder !!
The amount of pride these workers take in their work is amazing to watch. And another thing Tht is really interesting is that there is no difference between the helmets that is available to the public versus the helmet supplied to moto gp riders and I think this another reason why arai is the best
Love my Arai Tour X4... Really top quality and still super comfortable after 4 years. Really enjoyed seeing where it was made!
So thankful for the protection they have provided over the years, fascinating video Jamie. Have a blessed Christmas a New Year of fresh adventures.
"I have many decades of riding and lots of enjoyment from your helmet"..Sorry Jamie, I love your channel, but that incapacitated me for several minutes!! Keep the videos coming! :-))
Thank you for the great video!
Yes this is indeed really a good video! Impressive! アライの社長の英語の堪能さに驚き、Reiさんのコメント見つけて2度驚きました!
24:13 that's the lake in initial D !
Welcome to Japan!
Arai and Shoei is Japanese Best Safety Helmets maker!
Which is better

On my 3rd Arai, had 4 shoeis before that. I'm never looking back, best helmets I've had by along shot!
Mr. Arai, thank you for never giving up!
JR, as always, thanks for taking us along- this is an outstanding episode, even without the hamburger.
Now I understand why the cost on these lids is so high....
This was SO COOL. I had no idea these were handmade helmets. Luckily, I have enough money to afford one now for when spring comes around :D
Arai , sinonimo de excelencia a nivel mundial en cascos !!! excelente video !!
You get way more than you pay for with Arai Jamie Priceless
Nothing feels like a new Arai when you first put one on .... sublime bit of kit ... RX7 is a bit of a tasty price nowadays but you can see why... 👍🏻
Amazing craftsmanship
I’m falling in love with these brand and factory.
Awesome video. Gained appreciation of Arai quality helmets.
Japanese manufacturing is one of the best in the world. Surprised to see how simple the factory is though. Thank you Jamie for taking us through I believe not a lot of people are allowed in the Arai factory to begin with. Can I also ask which action cam do you usually use when on your bike?
Always a pleasure to watch your videos... Cheers from India mate
The egg shape is the safest type of shell design and Arai has been pioneering it for decades. No wonder they're the leading helmet brands today.
Respect for Arai workers, Mr.Arai and respect for you Jamie!!
i have my wes cooley rep from the 80s sitting on a shelf in the shed and still use my quantum f... i got my first supervent in 1985 and have loved the fit and quality ever since
When you hold an Arai helmet you can FEEL the quality - and that’s before you even put it on. 🔥
I didn't know that about Arai, thx. BTW nice editing on the final ride part ;)
Arai the best!
Hot dam that was a crazy crash, Jamie, from back in your racing days!
Japan never disappoint !
Bought a new Arai DX4 recently and love the finish and comfort.
Looking to buy that.. is it quiet? Is it cool? I live in a place where its hot all year round and im looking for helmet that breath well and quiet
Great Video! Thanks for that! Concerning putting on and off the Helmet i suggest using a Balaclava (Hood). Makes it piece of cake to put it on and off really.

Very impresive truly Arai is a work of art
