some mighty fine playing. well done. i love the contrast between the two trumpets, she had a lovely jazz sound, loved her solo then the other dude with some great playing and amazing lip trills. fabulous.
Now that's Jazz! Great squad! All the musicians were polished like newborn brass. I completely enjoyed every note. I am so grateful this performance was captured on video. Kudos to everyone that helped put together this very special presentation.
First trumpet solo was as tasty as they come. I've seen that player perform before. Most who can play like that, with solo ideas that solid, have a high IQ. They know things...
I wonder if you ever appreciate the hard work that these professional musicians in their teens put in. I'm assuming you choose to ignore the countless lines that they made up themselves in their solos as well. I saw you commenting too on Essentially Ellington competition videos. It seems like you're very insecure about your own work that you act out this self-loathing in the form of putting down musicians who are much younger and probably even better than you are.
first trumpet solo is swag
Second solo not too shabby either!

That bassist aint getting enough credit, intonation is on point 😅
Everyone, that second solo trumpet player is fantastic as well. Great range.
He has great technical control.
All these kids are great and the clarinet player is really special!
The second trumpet solo was the best to me ✨
clearly stands out
That piano solo was really unique and creative- I loved how he ended it in classic Basie fashion. What a talented group
they are !

Please Nathaniel, don't hurt em. I loved that he was matching Skylar's energy for like 12 bars and then he ramped it up.
@@MonologueMusicals I liked how he borrowed her nail varnish!
Skylars solo was fantastic
IK I RECOGNIZED SOME FROM EE, THAT CLARINET AND TRUMPET DUDE
Thank you for crediting these musicians, I wish NYO USA/NYO Jazz would take a few extra minutes to acknowledge these deserving musicians.
Clarinet player is having a blast
some mighty fine playing. well done. i love the contrast between the two trumpets, she had a lovely jazz sound, loved her solo then the other dude with some great playing and amazing lip trills. fabulous.
Love seeing young men and women engaging in real music like jazz and swing!
These kids can play!
I like how the piano solo had a ragtime feel

Damn everyone is having such a great time!
Great. What lucky kids. A great teacher!!!!

After the piano solo, the entire band comes in and really rips it! Fantastic contrast.

Young folks swinging, huh. Damn
Very nice!
nice
please, say something about the drummer?
the first trumpet solo player looks kinda scary
Why are the nails painted?
cuz they like to paint their nails
No, like what is the meaning behind it with this group. We know that Penn J. does it in memory of his mom. That is alll@@zollychan
Tradition in nyo to paint your nails red
dynamics are way off wind players need to project and play
trombone solo was kinda ass but the rest were good. great arrangement too!
I wonder if any of these kids are ever asked for any original musical thoughts they might have.
Dumb comment

The first trumpet soloist, Skylar Tang, also won an award for best original composition.
